  1. To add to V4lkyri3' posts, here's my mini-review: Its been delayed a couple of time, but this thing finally hit my porch today from HLJ. The packaging is well done, illustrating all the features of the Lady. After carefully prying the toy from its styrofoam bonds, the first impression I got was the hefty feel for something its size. The fuselage is mostly metal, and the all the interchangeable panels are plastic. The particular one I ordered is the supposedly limited edition version with a black metallic and white scheme, as opposed to the normal version, which is painted in cobalt blue. The paint job is superb; it’s all very clean with no overspray. The doors have a snug fit. As such, its difficult to get them open without the aid of a toothpick, but once I did get them open, it gives a great view of two well painted pilot figures. The only cockpit detail is a decal of panels and readouts, but it’s very hard to see. Aoshima really gave attention to external detail; there are even tiny Sunburst hatches that open on either side of the fuselage right above the boosters. As for the armaments, the machine guns and cannon, as well as the missile pod can be displayed by swapping their respective panels. Not too much detail on these, but they do the job. If one prefers not to use the sturdy stand and base Aoshima provided, the landing gear can be swung open by a slide switch at the bottom of the toy. They hold up the Lady just fine, and the wheels roll quite freely. The best feature of this thing is the rotating blades. The main rotor and stabilizer are both motorized and powered by two AAA batteries. They both rotate quite fast with a small whine from the motor inside (no, it doesn’t “howlâ€), and the switch is disguised as a round landing light. Overall, was it worth the 80 bones? Most definitely.
  2. By swapping parts, yeah, it does. It sucks when you lose a piece, but they still make for some good office toys.
  3. Sylia and Nene came in two days ago for me, but I don't have the problems previously mentioned with Sylia...so far at least. Nene looks way cute-great head sculpt. Her suit is kinda stiff, and some panels are little loose, but no big complaints here.
  4. Eeenteresting. While I did expect King to do more DT works after finishing the series, I never thought it'd be in comic book form. Although I did picture Roland as a lankier fella.
  5. Ack! I can't believe the cowboy Apharmd got a kit before the Viper did. The valk looks quite spiffy though. Thanks for the pics!
  6. Aren't there still some games trickling down for the DC in Japan? My DC is still alive and kicking. Virtual On:OT + Twinsticks= good times. Much love for the Temjin and Viper. Garou: Mark of the Wolf still rocks as well.
  7. Check this out: I won't be sure until my dropship arrives, but it looks like the Alien Queen Microman figure and the included goodies are (or at least pretty damn close) in 1/72 scale. Included with the queen are two alien eggs (one hatched, one still closed), and one Predator figure in a standing pose. Granted, the the Aliens vs. Predator Queen is mega huge compared to the one in Aliens, but hell, it still makes for one nasty surprise for those 1/72 scale marines!
  8. All I can say is cats (frickin cats) and unruly, clumsy friends do not mix with 1/48s. Or any toy worth over $100 for that matter!
  9. They look awesome, but I'll never have room for them. I'll just stick with Micromen for now. But if they ever make Ripley with an exo-lifter, I just might have to make room.
  10. Hurin, are you sure this isn't a hoax?
  11. I can't wait till mine get here. Boomers...I"ll be needing a lot of Boomers.
  12. Pilots for the first 1/48s were made with rigid, glossy plastic. I'm not sure about all the re-releases, but later 1/48s have "gummy" pilots that are all squishy, yet firm.
  13. Agreed! And as long as you're polite about it, what've ya got to lose? ooooo! yes please. It wont hurt and given the early stage it's in right now and the fact that it's such a easy problem to fix, definitely! 314182[/snapback]
  14. MCC, was it mentioned from what magazine that pic came from?
  15. It looks leagues better than the 1/100 scale train wreck. Good to know Yamato hasn't given up on Mac Zero yet.
  16. The valk was doomed from the start; its number of 013 adds up to four-the number of death! Awesome piece as usual Kurt!
  17. Think Blade Runner-Kojima style.
  18. "Alas poor Peacemaker, I knew him well." (no photo reference, just pure 10 min. abuse!)
  19. Thanks, Mr. March, and for the record, that was all MS paint, no photoshop. It just got a little fuzzy when it got converted to a a jpeg. As for using pre-existing pics, well, I thought it WAS a great moment in anime. BTW, the Berserk pic rocks!
  20. I'm definitely getting one of these! I never did get my hands on the old Halcyon kit, and don't have time for kits anymore anyways. And I'm hoping some in-scale space-marine figures will go on sale when this hits the shops.
