1/6 scale Hot Toys Appleseed Figures
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Bri looks hot, but as good looking as Deunan's figure is, I would prefer a Shirow-esque head on her. -

Yeah, ain’t that crazy? But if things get real dire in terms of finding this thing (especially for places without a WalMart), a shop like this might be the only choice. I’m thinking of waiting to see what the Japanese release looks like, but I’m sure it won’t cost $50. I’ve swung by two WalMarts up here, but found no Starscreams. Although I did find a whole slew of Classic Devastators, Rumbles and Ravages. I’ll try again later in the week. -

It's bad enough for my woman to see me buy action figures, now she could see me examining their crotches?!

The All Things Video Games Thread!
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
By the way the game looks, this seems to be true. This version looks stunning compared to the Saturn version. There are two options for frame rate; 57.5 and 60 fps with accommodations for wide screen. The sounds effects are just like they were 10 yrs ago with choices for arcade or "consumer" BGM. There's no loading time in between bouts, but I don't know what the speed is like with online play. The only thing needed to complete the experience is to find some way to use the Dreamcast twinsticks with the PS2, which is unfortunately impossible. -

Any Virtual On freaks in here? The latest volume of the Sega Ages series featuring the first VO arcade game (Operation Moongate) just arrived at my porch, and it is sweeeet. Even with the absence of the twin-sticks controller, the game seems to be as frantic and smooth as I remembered. Extras include several new color schemes (Prototype Temjin or Raiden anyone?) two art galleries, and a new “chibi” mode with SD renditions of all the virtuaroids. There are also options for online vs. matches, but I’ll have to play around with them to get it working. Definitely one of my better import purchases. -

Yep, loser scalpers are a pain, but hopefully all your fears are for naught. Speaking of WalMart, since when did they start carrying the Encore stuff online? I tried to see of they had MP Starscream on their site-they didn't, but they did have the Optimus and Starscream Encore reissues. -

Fo sho. I go down to the bay quite often, so if everything works out one of us could save on shipping charges. -

I held off on the original MP Starscream for the inevitable G1 repaint, so I'll be giving the two Wal Marts around my area a couple of run-throughs this week. I'll let you guys know if I find anything here in NorCal. I'll be willing to buy two (If I'm that lucky) to provide one to an unlucky MWer, if they'd be willing to do the same for me. Like everyone here, I would hate to pay up the arse for this thing to a scalper. BTW, those add-on parts to the MP trailer are quite kewl - I really dig the raised emblem. -
Yeah, I remember hearing stories of those joint covers eroding the plastic joints on the old Bandai kits. Fortunately, I haven't seen this happen to my Labors. That's too bad about the aqua Griffon, though.

Those joint covers, are they made of gray velvet?

If there is, I could see it being a "secret" figure. This wave of gashapon is awesome. The number of toys that could potentially be churned out from this line is staggering. Maybe I could finally get a whole slew of Thunderforce fighters...

.. for the 2D Capcom/SNK lovers 'Question!'
Valkyrie Hunter D replied to ruskiiVFaussie's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yep, Tiger Knees were a great addition to his move list, but I remember having a hard time pulling it off until it was changed to a DP command with a kick. IIRC, Joe's rocket knee had the same command, and that was changed too. I used to love using Zangief, especially with all the scrubs who would try to fireball me to death. -

1. Terry - My all time favorite; a powerhouse with awesome finishers. His combos finishing with the Power Dunk are always satisfying to watch. Besides, only Terry can make that totally 80's outfit look cool (I don't really dig his bomber jacket ensemble). 2. Chun Li - My "starter" in all my trios. Great speed, nice poke moves, and always fun to play when custom combos are enabled. 3. Sagat - FAST projectiles with a nice arsenal of anti-air moves, with good reach to boot. Many a battle was won with Sagat alone. -

This game looks dope, but I can't play it yet until I finish ACE2. BTW, does anyone know exactly what the cohesive story is between the two games? I can't seem to find anything that spells out the story. And just like Mike, I haven't run into any Macross mechs yet...

Great site A88! I was always curious about the KOR pilot episode and the unedited Windaria. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, though I'm not sure about the intake ramps. I wouldn't be able to get too close anyways since a couple of hornets flew out of it.

Korean made monster movie? Sure, I'll bite. It can't be any worse than than latest Godzilla movies-and my girl sure knows how I love those...

Hola! I wanted to share my pics from my first visit to Mc Clellan airfield (formerly AFB): http://s234.photobucket.com/albums/ee265/Valk_Hunter_D/ There are some real classics in there, but I was absolutely giddy to find everyone's favorite Cat way in the back. If you guys are ever around the Sacramento area in CA, drop by and meet some friendly museum curators who are really passionate about the planes they keep.

Gawd, that's a whole lotta Blade Runner, but I think I'm gonna have to splurge on the 5 disc set.

If CMs saw it fit to make the obscure Peacemaker, it'll just be a matter of time before the Zero makes an appearance. I just don't know if I should get two Peacemakers to give the Griffon some company. Hmmm, a die cast Zero. I wonder if CMs could still pull off the working lights considering a Zero has some real skinny lights compared to an Ingram.

Harmony Gold having troubles?

Mucho props to Yune for diffusing an otherwise flammatory situation. I can't say for sure I'd be able to keep my cool like that.
