Wow. Didn't (but probably shoulda) seen this coming. Those first pics of Battdroid alone make me wanna buy it without further consideration. As much as I love my Arcadia -19 (and I really really do) I will have to buy this one too on the off chance it looks better in any of the 3 modes! I've got 3 Yamarcadia Valks and 3 plus one on order Bandai iterations and I have to say my preference on finish is with the Bandai ones. Looking at my YF-19 beside my VF-25F (both panel lined) the Bandai Valk just jumps out at me more. More texture (greater and deeper panel line detail) more glossy finish (not necessarily a good thing but makes it pop a little more) The design of the -25 is sleeker but -19 is still my favourite, so I'll be hopeful Bandai can make fighter mode even sleeker looking than Arcadia could manage. Do I care that my $300 Arcadia Valk will be superceeded by a (potentially) superior model, not really. Am I happy that the possibility of an even better interpretation of the coolest (imop) looking Valk in Macross history exists? You betcha. After all, what else would I spend my money on?!?!?! edit added "(potentially)"

Don't delay, I bought this one as a rerelease but the prices for the original release were sky high before that. They've also re released the FFR-41 which I already have (I paid a fortune for it on eBay not suspecting a rerelease was round the corner) They are beautifully made and finished I have to say but I was surprised that they were all plastic. Thought there would be more metal. Not that it bothers me, you just have to handle them carefully - especially when adding armament or putting the landing gear pieces on.

No probs! Glad to help. Gave me an excuse to open it (don't really have room for display at the mo)

Congrats to all you happy Chronos owners. The user pics on this thread do the YF-30 more favours than the official pics. I have to say I was originally underwhelmed by the look of this Valk in fighter mode which is why I didn't preorder it. Gerwalk and Batdroid both look awesome though making me think...

I love Gerwalk mode. I remember as a kid, before I knew of Macross/Robotech, wondering why my Jetfire Transformer had an "inbetween" mode! I think I prefer it to most Batdroid. My new YF-19 is facing me in Gerwalk as I type this and even though it seems a very nose heavy pose from some angles, I think it looks epic.

Mine arrived this morning. Unmolested thankfully. I've only ventured as far as Gerwalk as yet (no experience with any previous 19s), although I didn't manage to get it to strike a particularly good pose. It is a thing of beauty in Fighter mode and that was how I fell in love with this Valk in the first place. Quick snap of Max welcoming Isamu........

So sorry for you guys experiencing difficulty with Amiami and your busted Valks. It seems so far removed from everything you experience as a visitor to Japan when they are courteous and polite to a fault and can't do enough for you (assuming they can understand you ). Amiami have undoubtedly "lost face" through this issue and more importantly, they've lost my confidence and my custom as well as that of others around here. In other news I just laid out another £53 in import tax so I can have mine (ordered from HLJ - fingers crossed) on Monday. (If I get home from work in time).

I'll be able to answer this better when I get my paws on my YF-19. With a VF-1A (Max DYRL) and VF-25F&G I think I'll have all I need (but not want) when Isamu's ride shows up.

Even if it it's fragile, I'm good with my pre-order. I fell in love with the -19 for it's fighter mode for the most part and since it's gonna arrive on my door step in said mode - I'm good! I'll let you, my fellow intrepid (and more experienced) collectors/fans decide which parts are weak before I even attempt to transform mine......... Yes I am a bitch.
