I think, visually, it's either Ravage or Laserbeak. Ravage looked surprisingly good, as long as you didn't try to actually play with him! Other than that, Shockwave looks good, despite his uber-skinny legs, and Omega Supreme looks as he does on the TV show, too.

Yes I do. What other major event in U.S. history celebrated an anniversary this week? (hint: It's not Hound's birthday! )

Dude, we can't blame everything on Harmony Gold. Oh, wait... Yes, we can!

Macross 2036/ELS chara profiles
the white drew carey replied to Yoshi's topic in Movies and TV Series
That is odd. -
Well, I guess you see things differently than I do. To me, Hound was a military vehicle. He was a Jeep only because that's what the military was using. Now the military is using Humvees. If you can't understand that, then poo on you.
-
That's OK if you don't get it. Most people don't understand greatness. Seriously, all of the original TF's had some sort of proportion problems. I just don't think this is a good interpretation of Hound, and I don't care for 1) how the final product looks, and 2) That hound is now a civilian vehicle instead of a military vehicle. It's like making the new Starscream a civilian Learjet instead of something which is definitely, beyond a doubt, military-based. Now what we really need to see, if they want to update everything, is Soundwave or Blaster as an iPod...

Better than Macross (in my opinion).
the white drew carey replied to Daishi3500's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm just curious what Tarantino has up his sleeve for part 2. There was sooo much in part 1 that I have no idea how he's going to top it. I'm also curious why Michael Madsen is one of the D.i.V.A.S.??? I now know how he was able to get an R rating without cutting much, if anything, out of the big fight scene. Very sly, I might say. -
Navy tests new "Fold" technique
the white drew carey replied to the white drew carey's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Seriously, it's just breaking the sound barrier. But it reminded me so much of a ship un-folding, that I decided to write a lame "news report" about it. It's been a long day. -
©royters news service 11/21/2003 The United States navy tested a new form of "dimensional warping" which allows a vehicle equipped with a new top secret engine to "fold" from one point to another without travelling through the intervening space. The source of this new mode of travel is unknown, although rumors persist that it is somehow associated with the alien spaceship, which was originally reported as a meteor, which slammed into the Pacific in 1999.

Shirows 'Bonaparte' = FT-17?
the white drew carey replied to DestroidsRage's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I've always been fond of the M3 Stuart and it's upgraded versions. http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/lsm/dhmg/ima...mages/10123.jpg http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/lsm/dhmg/ima...mages/10124.jpg For more pics, check out the whole page. It's got some good ones: http://www.users.zetnet.co.uk/lsm/dhmg/stuart.html -
NOOOOOOOO!!! Hound is my favorite... and they've ruined him!!! The only way they could "update" hound would be to make him a Humvee, not a damned civilian Wrangler or whatever!!! That's it, I'm sanding off my transformers tattoo!!!

Yowza!!! Good work. Now stop readin the praise and get back to drawing more!!!

Better than Macross (in my opinion).
the white drew carey replied to Daishi3500's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh... don't worry guys. Daishi's just foolin' around. (at least I think he is...) But yeah, while Kill Bill rocked, and was one of the most entertaining films yet this year, Daishi's statement is simply a matter of opinion. I would expect when a statement is made such as "Better than Macross" that some sort of comparisons would be made. But Daishi simply pointed out that he thinks Kill Bill is better than Macross. Is this something that warrants it's own thread? I don't think so. BTW- My drawings do suck... ...SUCK LIKE A FOX!!! (okay- for some reason that didn't work out too well) -

the white drew carey replied to Daishi3500's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ummm... Okay, so you liked Kill Bill. That's wonderful. I'm so proud of you. I liked it, as well. But I don't know if it's better than Macross... It's a completely different thing. -
Realplayer blows chunks. I hate it! I hate it!

Shirows 'Bonaparte' = FT-17?
the white drew carey replied to DestroidsRage's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
But back to the Bonaparte idea- I think that it's based on the concept of any light tank, not just the FT-17. A lot of the light tanks from WWI to WWII look similar simply because the design is almost forced to be that way. -
Shirows 'Bonaparte' = FT-17?
the white drew carey replied to DestroidsRage's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
And, for the folks unfamiliar with our country's gun laws, this is a VERY big thing. Our gun control laws are very strict. Ironically we can get toy guns like Megatron here perhaps because real guns are so rare most civilians would think those were toys.. Our gun laws are strict, but enforcement and interdiction is still very weak -
Once again: The YF-1R of Robotech IS NOT the same as the animation mistake!!! The similarities: Both feature a top-mounted laser and two side-mounted lasers. The differences: The animation mistake is simply just a VF-1A head with the two lasers on the side. The YF-1R, meanwhile, also features a chin, a hexagonal eyepiece and vents on the side. Although I know of no official acknowledgement, one and all are fairly certain that the animation mistake was Tommy Yune's inspiration for the YF-1R design. Which sucks*. So, to answer Baronv's question, any screencap of the YF-1R from RT can only be found in the battlecry game. I know someone around here has a cap of the animation mistake, because it was posted on the old forums. Someone should be by shortly to satisfy your request. *And before anyone tries to chime in with "If Kawamori designed it you'd love it!" I must note that I've made mention of my dislike for the VF-1J head design numerous times. So 'nyah!

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
the white drew carey replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
What's wrong with Ice Pirates!?! Yellowlightman- FYI, those things at the end of A.I. are the supposed to be descendents of the first robots made by man, not aliens. My picks woulk either be any Highlander film other than the first, Space Truckers or Battlefield Earth. Bad sci-fi movies I like for their nostalgia value despite their horridness: Ice Pirates (the whole "Space Herpes" scene has been untouchable by any comedy in any genre ever since) Night of the Comet (lame, but fun (at least when I was young) Space Hunter: Adventures in the Forbidden Zone (Molly Ringwald typecasts herself for the first time as a mis-understood youth, Michael Ironsides camps it up as Overdog) -

Just to spite you I'm going to put it on a VF-4... -
They don't look any different in either picture. The fingers themselves seem to still be in the same position.

One issue I have about that kit is that the missile hatch doesn't completely clear the path of the top-most missiles... Poor, poor missile hatch...
