  1. Now that Ive looked at the comparisons side by side, at least from the top view IMO the old yammy looks better. Well thats a bummer since I was planning to pose ol 19 in battroid and new 19 in fighter for the weapon set.
  2. Thanks! That explains why my 2 x VF-22s shipment was cheaper (EMS) than 1 x 1/48 (DHL). The cubic foot should be roughly the same, if not slightly bigger on the 2 x VF-22s. On a side note, they should automate the shipping calculation estimates for EMS/DHL/SAL during the ordering process...Im sure people have been emailing them back to get different shipping quotes.
  3. This may not be related, but was wondering how much shipping was charged normally for a 1/48 VF-1? This is because I was charged $60 for a 1/48 VF-1 using DHL. Ive emailed them a quote for EMS, but would EMS be cheaper? or should I go the RSAL route...which I think may be a bit unsafe based on what I read on this board. Thanks!
  4. Well not entirely. Maybe the new sculpt is better in fighter, but the way they pull off the solution for the lower knee cover is kinda cheap to me. But thats just me. Either way, to display the new missiles and to display the better battroid mode, you just have to get 2 units
  5. Exactly! But now I see a problem : 1) The old 19 does not have missles attachments on the wings, but looks better in fighter. 2) The new 19 have missles attachments, but looks better than the old 19 in battroid. So what we have is : Option A : To display new 19 wings armaments (sacrifices looks) : Display old 19 in battroid (looks worse than new sculpt) & Display new 19 in fighter (looks worse than old sculpt) and get to display the new weapon sets on the wings. Option B : To display best-looking mode of each sculpt (sacrifices the weapons set) : Display old 19 in fighter without missles and new 19 in battroid (no missles) And the best part is ... the solution : SOLUTION : Buy 2 new YF-19's to display the new armaments and the improved battroid mode. I smell a conspiracy. Now where did I put my tin hat?
  6. I see. Owned a YF-19 before, but never owned a VF-19...so they did that for battroid looks. But again it makes one wonder (+Mommar) why they didnt mold the Lower knee cover in tan?
  7. I wonder what made them leave that big gap below the knees unlike Yamato's YF-19? Shorter lower legs?
  8. woot woot. lookin good!
  9. haha, been away from the boards for almost 7 years. Its nice to see that the layout was changed, but I guess certain things never change : Our love for Macross & the mass hysteria when a pre-production sample pics are out!
  10. LoL, remembered the days when Graham would feed us with pre-production photos from Yamato and everyone would be growling on how the colors don't match the anime, landing gear make the plane droopy, plane too fat, battroid too skinny etc2... crowd here is hard to please. but hey its actually a good thing!
  11. Both except the middle one
  12. half of it would be me! Damn I missed the other one just under my nose while I was filling out the form! EDITED : on a side note, there is a set of armor part for VF-171 at a relatively good price now.
  13. yeah, reminds me of the gloss that we see on YF-19's body when it went trough the fold/worm hole from planet Eden to Earth.
  14. Looks good. Gonna grab one for the fighter mode leg missiles scene & leave the 1st edition in battroid.
  15. congrats on the cavalier! saw other branch store sold the fan racer for $30. Now, I wonder who got the 25th Anniversary YF-19 for $95 : http://ekizo.mandarake.co.jp/shop/en/item_s-1514105.html
  16. I'd rather they use the old mold and do the grey "moon-shooters" camo : Or "Black-Clouds" :
  17. Thats some sweet haul u got there.
  18. Right or not, the color is good for me. Dark valks are hard to come by nowadays. Cheers!
  19. holy cow...this work is truly amazing!
  20. looks very clean and legit, almost like an OEM from Yamato! cant wait to see the final product!
  21. Pure luck my friend... It was the day when I was looking at my first VF-22S Gamlin battroid (bought from a MW member) and tried to decide whether to keep it in battroid or fighter mode. The fighter mode was super sleek and the mode I like most, but I just had to transform it the moment its outta the box to make sure everything is fine (which it is). Was too lazy to transform the guy back to fighter, and went window shopping on mandarake to see if I could get another...and there it was, sitting to be snagged at 10k Yen! Took it off the market and combine-shipped it with the max that I won earlier (same mandarake branch). BTW, the I just realized that transforming VF-22S from battroid to fighter is a major PITA. I just cant find any way to make the legs sit flush in the underbelly. After removing/re-attaching the legs several times, I finally found out that there is an "extra" click on the gerwalk hip-joint that I needed to push to make both legs sit flush in the underbelly. Watched quite a few transformation videos, and was pretty sure I did everything right, but I think the hip-joints on mine were rather tight and need to be *clicked BEFORE stowing the legs, rather than forcing them to *click AFTER the legs are stowed. Anyways, Im a very happy camper with the two Gamlins I just acquired. Now onto inspecting the Max.. PS : Will let you know if I find any! Just found out that the max is MISB~! Looking through the clear plastic container, the figure is still wrapped in protective plastics. Didnt touch anything and repackaged it to keep it minty! There's a small crease on one corner of the opening lid.
  22. just got back from the post office : From Mandrake. Max is pristine, never been opened with the plastic band still intact around the box!
  23. VF-11B reissue with atmospheric booster? Molds are ready, less design/tooling time/costs, lets churn out somethin arcadia!
  24. a super-detailed 1/48 FTW!!
  25. VF-0S was my fav macross in fighter mode, well, before I got my hands on the VF-22s... even though I got the revision version, I kept it displayed in fighter mode.
