Or if you can settle with a 1A before getting a 1S, you can try here (about $105 before shipping) : http://www.hkcollectibles.com/macross-robotech/7119-vf-1a-movie-with-optional-parts-30th-anniversary.html You need them...yes...you do...every...single....one....out there....

what purple feet?

dont resort to toynami 1/100. while they seems to be decent little buggers, the money is better spent on an Arcadia or Yamato for first timers. Ami2 is having a sale for the Anniversary valk 1J for around $80 + shipping, if you dont mind the color : http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-000334&page=top%2Fsearch%2Flist%3Fs_keywords%3Dvf-1j%24pagemax%3D20%24getcnt%3D0%24pagecnt%3D1

Or maybe he meant : Stop talking to me on twitter and talk to the hand

Off Topic. my very first was 1/72 YF-21, 2nd was 1/48 VF-1A Low Vis v1, 3rd was the 1/72 VF-19A. And then all hell's broke loose with all the 1/48 VF-1 variants I remembered the diecast YF-19 was pretty rare at that time. Back on Topic I guess new any news on the Arcadia's YF-19 will be after the WF on Feb 9th...sigh
-
And all of a sudden, Im all hyped with the idea of schemes upon schemes on the VF-1 line! For Valk-only release, Minmay Guard Paris is on top of my list! And for Super Pack Release : Blue Rose and Enigma! Wouldn't be such a looker without the Packs

Dont read/write/speak Japanese but maybe what he meant was he too, wants the VF-1J in Macross The First. maybe..
-
haha my bad. Maybe at that time I wasnt too impressed with the VF-1 Yamato removable legs...hence oogling of the MPC became quite a habit. But damn those cockpit ladder was a premium at that time.
-
I wonder who decided to pass the 30th anniversary paint job...I dont think it sells well, seeing that theyre deep discounted at a couple of retailers... Heck, the minmay Guard Paris could easily be made the 30th anniversary piece and wouldve sold like hot cakes. I mean if they can do the tampo printing like the current 30th anniversary, there's no way the cant do the same for any of the other customs listed above.

Yes we did. Imagine : before the era of Yamato, there were only Bandai and Toynami. Valks were scarce. MPC / Takatoku / Bandai were the holy grails. Not much options. I remembered browsing through ebay...looking at MPC line .. saw the valk *cockpit ladder & said : "Wow, this is a masterpiece". That's how bad it was.

If it weren't for Big West vs Harmony Gold debacle, we couldve seen more Macross stuff in the states and companies like Yamato/Arcadia would have bigger market to sell their products to stay afloat. Those sneaky Harmony Gold..licensing whats not theirs and making money out of it ... all while keeping the original out of the competition and offering sub-par products from their end.

nismoflip has one, that from the looks of the pics he sent, is free from cracks. its still available in the FS section if anyone has the guts / experience transforming it.

Exactly. I wanted to get a stealth version, but with the alarming rate at which these defects are occurring, Im not sure Im ready to drop $150 a valk. As another member put it, the "sport-shoe" Alto color does not appeal to me especially since its supposed to be a stealth valkyrie. (?). If they ever redo a custom color in black, that'd be perfect, with the exception they fix the brittle material issues.

Ow snap. Guess Im gonna have to brave through the transformation...quick question, someone mentioned removing the piece before transfomation...but are the screws accessible from fighter mode and is there a guide for the removal? Is the removal easy-peasy or hardy-hard? Thanks!

Thanks! Been reading the thread but I guess I mustve missed it. Gonna get mine from a member by nxt week and it seems to me that the one Im getting has good triangles. Would you suggest transforming it to check the the toy (Im the 2nd owner, but 1st owner never transformed it) or wait till the aftermarket parts are ready? Saw that some had them cracked on 1st transformation...which sounds scary

But is your address a business address or residential?

With all these black triangles snapping all over the place, is there anyone planning to do a shapeway part for this piece? Im sure there is a huge demand at least here. Where's EXO or VF5SS when we need em? Or is the triangle too thin to be printed out?

watched it and the movie is good. Reminds me of Planetes, about space debris collectors

I for one wasnt trying to nitpick on the lineart accuracy, but my concerns are geared towards how *sleek* all three modes are designed and packaged in a single toy. Of course there would be compromises between the three modes, but I dont think going for a stubby lower legs to make it more anime accurate, at the expense of making the fighter mode looks squashed at the rear and hollowing the lower knee area, is the right way to go. But again thats just me. Regardless of what I said, I will try to pick one of these in the not too distant future to support the industry (been *picking* up valks, from where I left years ago...so will have to wait couple of months before getting this). Anyways, looking good in battroid! Cheers

The new fighter mode looks kinda squat around the legs area...but its not all that obvious at different angles. Maybe I'll have to handle it myself before saying anything more..

I think he mentioned it somewhere that for some reasons, its cheaper to go DHL if its a business address...
