I've always thought they look gundam-ish with human face (with nose/eyes/mouth). 19 Kai looks like a gundam, and MAXL looks like a fashionista lady on high heels. The only valk thats acceptable in M7 universe is the 11C, 22S and 17S/D. I totally understand, its that era, and theyre just doing their jobs to create an anime that will appeal to the general public/kids with rock-band/concerts/robots with human face...but still... Seen it a while ago, but aside from some good songs, the storyline & valks designs are kind of err.. May Anima Spiritia will always be with you!

uni-boob is acceptable, for the sake of characterizing a part of the fighter mode that is carried over to battroid after transformation. but dual-boobs?...I'd rather have them on humans than robots. I mean, dont get me wrong, in human, they at least serve a purpose to be on the upper abdomen, but robots? whyy? all these talk about boobs is making me hungry

if its a valk with boobs, I think I will pass. bomba!

If theyre reviving the Zero valks, then the Reactive armor is a must! Though may seems to be a far fetched dream for the Octos, Destroid Cheyenne & Monster MK1
-
exactly my concern as well. hopefully they do test runs on the colors, like the v2 YF-19

They could still possibly do the 0S/0A renewal without much tooling changes and release it this year. IMO, the issues with loose joints could probably be fix with minor tolerance adjustments on the plastic parts. But they can also decide to redesign the joints, which I think, is very highly unlikely. News on the 0D is great! But are they trying to revive the interests in M-zero toy line by announcing it a year earlier?. Or, given the time scale, are they trying to gauge if there's still enough interests in the market for M-zero toys? Since as we all know, M-zero has been what? more than 5 years ago? and an OVA at that..

wallet's jumping in if its an VF-0D
-
Exactly. If memory serves me right, the exploding arms were more common on the 0A Shin. And main issues with earlier releases are the loose thruster feet. Got my reissued VF-0S (with the same box art) from a HK seller. Main thing you can check to determine the version is the thruster feet. If it has no problem locking (after pulling them out) in battroid then its the 2nd version. If I could get a hand on a VF-0S within the 100-ish price range, Id definitely jump on it again. As of now, Ive had too many valk purchases this month, so Im calling it a day..until I get more money to burn.

Although these vf-0s are not as good as v2 yamato's, if my memory serves me right (sold mine after graduation), they werent pretty bad at all especially v2 VF-0S. The exploding arms issue, loose thruster feet, and broken tailfin nubs were problems of earlier releases and the VF-0A...my v2 VF-0S was pretty sturdy in all modes. But especially gorgeous in fighter :

Just avoid toys that have high percentage of damage out-of-the-box (like VF-171). But in general the condition is pretty great. Ordered 2 valks before in one order : one is pretty loose but not too bad, but the other was pristine new. still have plastic wraps in the landing gears, legs & body. meaning, never been transformed.

if they want to go the tampo printing route, minmay guard is a good candidate for them to show off how far they could go in terms of tampo printing intricacy. As for enigma, change the plastic dye to low-vis grey & print/tampo/spray two shades of greys. Shouldn't be too hard if it were part-by-part procedures, like what they did on the 30th valk. The Alaskan base scheme may be too bland..even for Macross fanbase, let alone others. I agree with MJ, they need to come up with a sure-hit valk scheme/design or risk the company's future direction in this venture. *But news on new molds is pretty exciting!
-
not much effort being put to milk the mold. not much effort I'll give to open up my wallet. If they can release a *colorful* valk like the 30th, why take a step back and release something so..uhm..plain?

wow nice! OEM looking. I wonder where you're going to display that huge toy! -
on a 2nd thought, using nail polish would defeat the purpose of having "tacky" friction surface on the tip of the rods to hold the valks..
-
would nail polishing the tips work? with clear nail polish, of course..
-
because its their money j/k aside, how much are they charging for these plushies? not a fan (no hard feelings, I only like mechanical things), but was just curious..
-
Too bad. I was hoping they will release some *interesting stuff from this thread : http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=29325 These little buggers may not be on par with Yamato/Bandais, but at discounted prices, I'd be all over them. but maybe without any new series, the fanbase for an 80's show here is not as huge as in Japan.. They should seriously consider selling the molds to some other Japanese company that can capitalize on these toys with a bigger market in Japan. Banpresto?

nice weathering job MJ! your valks have been so pleasing to the eyes... on a related note, a recent addition to the valk re-acquisition : -
meh...not really into alaska base variant. kinda look like a half-assed attempt to release a VF-1 variant. my wallet will bite if they release badass variants like enigma or blue-rose, which I think will also appeal to non-macross fan base.

Maybe I can answer part of it. The 1S max was never released in 1/48 scale. Remembered back then I bought a 1S head off a member here and repainted the arrows with blue to make my custom Max 1S. I believe they dont have TV 1A in 1/55 scale either, but I saw some members did customize them into one.

better, use stronger plastic such as nylon instead of those nasty brittle plastic...or something of that nature.
-
Reissues of 171 with better plastic... or different color scheme for 171 with different plastic / better QC. better nylon, but not sure if they can control the parts tolerance with that material.
