I was thinking more of a pocket-breather release, in between major releases. An unassembled, mass-produced and cheap kit would fit the bill. But knowing Arcadia, they'll prolly come up with some weird releases that not many wants to buy, like their the 30th anny, M7 guitars & human-sized GU-11 gunpod. Sigh...

If only they could release their event-exclusive mini SDF-1

Cant agree more. Let alone the gimmicks were copied, the mechanisms for the gimmicks were also copied (read : high speed mode bars, head cover). One of the reasons why Im not supporting this particular Bandai endeavor. Did purchase 25F, RVF-25 and 25A as those were Bandai's original & beautifully designed. But its good to know Bandai did not disappoint and buyers are generally happy with their purchases, despite the minor gripes of looseness, tight tabs and slight transformation messy-ness. Might consider getting one if Bandai ever decided to do a different repaint/scheme (and no Itasha!).

interesting to see the use of part swapping for the wings in battroid on this second release unlike the 1J GBP

I'd suggest referring to transformation videos to be safe. I know i referred to Jenius's anymoon videos. -
I'll gladly swallow my criticisms on Bandai if they release gazzilions of repaints. Glad to hear the quality is top notch. Will prolly get one of em repaints, maybe not this time around, because Yamato & Arcadia had dulled my desire for the standard tan scheme.

Well, there is a fine line between copying others' works and using "common practice". Certainly you cant say Arcadia copies Bandai because Arcadia uses plastic for their toys (or in your argument, ball jointed wrist). But using the exact same gimmicks, let alone the same mechanisms to achieve the said gimmicks, is copying in my book. Well, to each his/her own. Cheers!

My bad. But hey, that rotating hip design (was) Arcadia's too! Anyways, cant wait to see reviews from folks here.

Can't believe how Bandai can get away with copying Arcadia. I know there are only handful of ways to design the transformations, but just look at the high speed mode wing-bars, biceps sliders, head details gimmicks. Bandai had it easy by copying Arcadia, while getting the competitive advantage by adding more gimmicks....poor Arcadia, time & effort spent were copied by Bandai like nothing happened. Wondering if any legal action could possibly ensue?. Proportion wise... The legs on Bandai look a *tad* bit too long and *slightly* disproportioned compared to the rest of the upper body, but not as bad as Yamato's. I remembered before, Yamato's legs can be made to look "balanced" in action poses, depending on the angle of view, hence why Bandai's seems to look balanced in action poses. Arcadia on the other hand managed to get a more balanced look by shortening the legs, but by hollowing the area at the knees in fighter mode (although they made up for it by adding sliding covers).

From the looks of it, seems plasticky...but who knows, maybe Bandai would go great lengths as to etch hidden diecast bars just to prove Bandai >> Arcadia. Anyways, not liking the gullet on the fighter. Arcadia's the thang for me, but enjoying members posting pics of the new 19 "incarnation". cheers!

Seems like they employ the same hinge mechanism for the wings to allow hi-speed mode...hmmm...

Just paid $32 EMS shipping to have it shipped from hlj's warehouse. Dont see any future items that will be bundled with this in the next 55 days..sigh. Bandai's 19 advanced looks great, but after 2 x Arcadia's 19's, need something different enough to justify purchase. Was wondering how much did people pay from NY shipped? Mine was quoted @ 23150Â¥ shipped but totally forgot to pay the Pre/O and was cancelled (prolly banned too lol) but seeing how people got burned with NY in case of defective product, went with the hlj route. Luckily they had a quick "leftover" sale window, just in time when NY cancelled my PO. Price is about $10 higher than NY, but maybe worth the assurance?

The original 19 design has those "cannons" on the sides that were also incorporated in Yamato's and Arcadia's toys. I may be wrong but I dont think those are cannons. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=13433

aw..no more gappy shield?

Fighter mode looks pretty accurate to lineart (anymoon.com) and the best looking mode of the design (IMO). Battroid looks good too. My only regret is not getting more than 1...so currently its sitting in battroid mode. If they ever re-release it I'll be getting one more for fighter mode.

Maybe we should do a group buy? Im tempted too on the brownie, even more so since the price dropped to $95...and were both in Minneapolis...lemme know when you finally give in -
Sv-51 legs. 1) The walls on the legs are too thin/brittle. 2) Someone need to redesign the gerwalk leg joints/pin suports, as they disintegrated pretty easily on mine. 3) Make the legs shorter/slide-in, like the new 19.

Bandai just have to compete with each and every one of Arcadia release...so maybe we'll see Bandai revisit their 21 when Arcadia get their hands on the 21/22 re-release/design? And yeah, that's a long shot.

no special tricks whatsoever. I just used the double sided tape pads that came with the lights. Initially some keep popping off the glass ceiling, so I just glue them back using elmer's solid glue. Just be sure to turn the lights on (for heat) and hold/press the lights in place for a few minutes for the glue to dry. Also bought these as spares in case the pads wear off : http://www.ebay.com/itm/400717955980?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&var=670262559414&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

Seems like Bandai is going all out to grab Arcadia's market share. Out of all the choices that they have to start off the line, they just have to release/announce the GBP first, just in time before Arcadia's GBP re-issue... But proportional wise, the armor looks good. BTW, the first (top right) pose on tamashii, isnt that the angle that Tenjin drew for Macross chronicles?
