It seems once you get a good look of how a Valk transforms, the magic is lost and the attraction starts to fade on them. I have 2 on order too.. but now I'm not sure if I should keep both so I'll never have to transform either or sell one and to save space Also a little worried if any of the transformation steps may cause scratching of the paint / tampo printing all over this bird.

I'll do you one better, here's a link to the video they posted of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORRnY2aw3aM My wife is generally ok with my hobby. Though the number of boxes and huge figures I have is getting a bit much. Gotta get around to sorting everything out to make it look neater. The HT Hulkbuster thankfully doesn't cost such an insane amount where I live (Singapore, so we're nearer to Hong Kong and we have an official distributor), so I'm only paying about CAD$905 (based on current rates) for it. I decided to get it because I've always loved the Hulkbuster, and wanted them to make one for the MCU, so this is pretty much a dream come true for me. Plus if I do regret it, it's usually pretty easy to find a buyer to offload it. I preordered the HT version long before King Arts put theirs up, so I kinda can't do much about it, except contemplate if I want the King Arts one. As I've said, I'm likely going to skip it due to its odd scale, and I already have the SHF one to fiddle with. Many people have complained that King Arts can be pretty slow to deliver on figures. Apparently they still haven't fulfilled preorders on the Mk42. Comicave together with Play Imaginative (though word on the street is that they're both owned by the same holding company now). See the video in my reply above

I preordered the Hot Toys one... Because its so effin humongous and will scale well with my other 1/6 scale figures. Probably gonna be a one off purchase of this range. I also preordered the rather absurdly expensive SHF X Chogokin Bandai one so i can have one to fiddle around with that generally scales well with 6 inch figures. I'm definitely getting the Sentinel one, though their premium pricing policy has me worried it may even cost more than the bandai one. I'm also kinda on the fence about the King Arts one, but will likely pass because of the price and odd scale. Also OP forgot to mention the motorised Hulk Buster by Comicave (believe they're related to Play Imaginative)

That's a great summary! Thanks! I think tight joints is an acceptable things (better tight than floppy I suppose.. I'm looking at you, YF-19 ankles). Potential paint scratching is a real bummer though.. Hope there won't be any issues with this piece. I've already given enough money to Arcadia when I bought 2 YF-19s,

Scored one of this suckers because Amiami dropped the price down to 28,260 yen due to box damage. I was planning on passing on this since Arcadia's going crazy with prices, and skip straight to the VF-0S. Hope this won't be a regrettable purchase. I've seen pics of this in hand and it looks gorgeous (even if the blue is inaccurate). Anything to take note of? Aside from the really sharp wings apparently.

This is purely conjecture on my part, but since they are also much smaller, and probably cheaper to produce than the DX Chogokin, that means they can probably afford the risk of making more (at least more than DX Chogokins, which reflects why they stayed available for as long as they did), as well as seeing this stay on shelves longer than their larger DX Chogokin counterpart, since they take up less space. Also, if the previous Hi-Metal line didn't do as well (I wouldn't know), scalpers are probably playing it safe to see how well this line sells before attempting to scalp. Besides, for something this small, yet costing almost the same price as a Yamato VF-1 (albeit without armor parts), it's probably too risky to even try to scalp this line for now. We'll probably know how popular this line really is once the Roy Fokker ones come around. Also, my money is on enemy units being web exclusives.

I hope you realize that Amiami doesn't really allow cancellations (though it seems to be a matter of luck).

Oh wait scratch HLJ. My order doesn't show up on my account. I'll wait to see if they processed it later. Otherwise, i still have the Amiami one I guess
-
I must say, this was actually easier to get for me. Managed to get one off HLJ and Amiami, and i was actually focused on that blasted SOC Gunbuster, coupled with the server problems on both sites. Either they're making a lot or the demand simply isn't as high. That or the servers really screwed everyone over

That's a pretty rare occurence. I've almost never ever seen Bandai releases getting pushed back. Wonder what caused the delay.

That's cause Yoji Shinkawa designed them

THIS! So very much. Also this is just my opinion, but not only has he gotten lazy with the way wings are stored (it translates so badly on the YF-29 especially), I can't help but feel very meh when it comes to head sculpt design. He has been doing this insectoid-like look, which all look similar, from Aquarion, to Eureka 7, Nobunaga the Fool, and off course, the VF-25S and VF-27 in the Frontier line. It looks nice, and I guess it's become his signature style. but I do hope he tries something new, or perhaps do something akin to the designs we got in the original Macross / DYRL and Plus.

Damn, those look nice. So you just take a very very fine brush, and dab some of the ink and let it run down the line, then wipe down the excess? Do you coat it thereafter? Does it bleed when you top coat it? Might wanna try it if i'm feeling adventurous

Got it 2nd hand off amiami for 14,980yen. I still think it's not worth that amount of dosh. But on the other hand, I do love Thunder Force V, especially the final stage where you got the upgrade.
-
I own it. I'd say it's only really for fans. It makes for a nice display piece if you have other fighters from the same line, but otherwise, it really doesn't scale well with anything. Also the box is pretty damn big for what it's holding. Also, I just saw one being sold on Mandarake for 30,000 yen That's pretty crazy considering how much I paid for mine.

What sorcery is this ?!

Just putting it out there again that I managed to acquire a spare on HLJ in the chaos, and if anybody is keen, feel free to hit me up. (Though preferably from Singapore as the additional shipping would be a killer for those in other countries). Otherwise, I'll just release it and cancel it on HLJ, and it should pop up again whenever.

So err.. because Amiami was being uber slow, I ended up snagging one on HLJ during the panic, while it just so happened my order on Amiami did manage to go through after I ordered the one on HLJ. If there're anyone who still needs one, I can probably let go of the HLJ one (though preferably based in Singapore, because shipping this anywhere else is probably not worth the additional cost to you guys). Otherwise, I'll just cancel the HLJ ones so the peeps here can have a go at it again when it goes up..

ok.. this is bizarre... despite taking forever to load, and having to refresh multiple times, I think I got it via Amiami (probably not popular since it's not an Ozma..)

just occured to me that we should expect to see super parts for the YF-29B as well... as if the Valk alone doesn't consume enough display space

My 3rd piece just came in the mail (after sitting in private warehouse). Not sure if I should display it with Super Parts, or just keep it in the box as a backup spare, since I already have 2 more displayed in Armored Parts..

Just make sure to keep your expectations super low, as it is highly unlikely that PA will ever be able to get the goods. Also, never pay upfront for this with PA.
