What?! No eating till you finish.

I can't say much about the melding of both Batzzie's and Mazzies' designs, but I like the idea of the Bat chest-plate you gave it. It sure as hell look better than that huge red schoolgirl bowtie that Kaiser seem to love wearing. I like your bold sketches. They also remind me the way Go Nagai did them.

For most people, Macross 7 will only get really interesting after that dumbass Kinryu gets himself killed - Hey, he didn't even get to knob off the two BBs he was dating! Wot a looza. If by then yer caught drooling yerself halfway to lalaland, yer gonna be so much better off reading M7 bash threads.

The Hot Anime Cosplay Chicks Thread
Beware of Blast replied to bake_art's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
WOW!!! This is certainly THE MOST beautiful thread I've had the pleasure of opening. So sorry to bakeart for the very, very late reply. I've been extremely busy with my new job to do any real surfing of late. Kudos to all of you for making this thread great! I have thoroughly enjoyed it. Thanks alot!. -
Wanna learn something...
Beware of Blast replied to Beware of Blast's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Ah, thanks for all the feedback fellas! So I see non-pleateds are more popular here. I needed your opinions because my colleagues are having a hard time making decision on such a small detail. We're all not experienced with menswear. I'll be the worst person to ask because I'm not good with mens' fashion. That's why I ask for general popular opinions to speed up their work... The idea is to create a male character for a commercial campaign that regular guys can relate to and hopefully will not ridicule. ::cough Adam King cough:: No we are not doing a Guinness commercial. It's not a commercial for fashionable menswear either, otherwise my work will be easier. If non-pleats are chosen, the character will be wearing trousers of that design throughout. Anymore feedback will be greatly appreciated, I'll make sure they read them all. -
Do you guys prefer pleated or non-pleated long pants for guy characters? I'll be doing some male character designs with slacks... Just wanna know what is the more popular preference. The characters are slim and fairly well built but not muscular. Slim mesomorphic bodies. Please keep opinions strictly to the pleated or non-pleated designs only. Thanks! Oh yeah, if you can also let me know what sort of cutting/style that are in right or rather, what you prefer right now, that will be the best. Thanks! I apologise because this topic is quite OT. Please leave it up for some discussion if you can.

If I'm not wrong, Kawamori is first of all an engineer rather than an artist by training, who happens to do his own designing, putting his ideas down on paper. Most designers would have left the grunt work of embelishing the designs with colors and touch-ups to other people long before they even finish tightening up the preliminary designs, but not this man. He needs to be respected for the extra effort even though the "shadow swashes" and the marker coloring are not so fluid or pro enough by watercolor or marker experts. Kawamori's markers have been known to be amateurish by many artists' standards but I love it because it shows that he makes it a point to finish his work.

1/6 Pre-painted Misato from Hobby Fan
Beware of Blast replied to Anubis's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Not an Evangelion fan, nothing to add as well but to annouce to the world this - Anubis, you rock! You might also wanna learn to focus. That pic looked as though either you're shinning a powahful followspot on her, or she is glowing on her own. -
Well, if you put it that way, I'd say sticking feathers up my butt makes me a peacock! Being a lackey of an ace sure as hell beats being a pornorgrapher.
-
Um not dat I'm complaining, I really donch know how I get from being a MW pornorgrapher to becoming a skull leader's lackey... last time I was diagnosed, I ain't no schizo doing some part-timing aight?
-
If I can do that I wouldn't want any of the CMS figures. Gimme something that's actually valuable like diamonds in a small black plastic bag instead. Muahahahah! One thing's for sure, shaking them boxes without Bariaburu Faita's elusive expertise will certainly turn one into a hobo.

PowerPuff Girls-- Anime Style
Beware of Blast replied to CaptRico's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Good find! Although I have always thought the style of PPGs, Dexter and SJ, is anime in a sense, the guy's take is also great. I like how he has put a bit of the anime kawaiiness into their expressions and elongated their bodies abit - all while retaining the simplicity of lines. -
Does anyone else feel like Minmay got kinda....
Beware of Blast replied to Max Jenius's topic in Movies and TV Series
One very clear difference between Misa and Minmay was Misa is quite stable with her career, Minmay is just starting off. It's true that Minmay kinda got screwed because throughout the show, she never want to piss anybody off in order to advance... and yet she neglects her relationship with Hikaru because he's such a pushover, she probably thought maybe she could come back later to continue with the duet, and he'd still be there - wrong choice. Had Minmay been as mature in mind as Misa, things would have been ALOT different though. If I had to pick between the two, I'd choose Minmay over Misa. It's because throughout the show, Minmay had endured alot of unneccesary mental abuse from her colleagues, the media and her friends, on top of doing her job well; while Misa had the luxury of focus when it comes to the job she's doing with very little distraction. Put Misa in Minmay's shoes and Misa'll be the one who looses Hikaru, as well as not being able to do a good job in show business and rising to the occasion when humanity needs her the most. -
Some of you might not like this method I use because the CMS stands interfere with the overall presentation, but try it if you want your figures to stand and pose steady. Notice the strategic positions of poles and grapple in the pictures... one thing really good about the CMS stands is that, they are totally configurable and versatile. Also notice the bits of blu-tac used under their feet.

Kamineko, I think HLJ tampered with those boxes and might have shipped them to you by mistake. Trading figure boxes are always sealed with glue out of the case, they're never taped. The toy shop that I purchase a set from, is publicly known to open the boxes so they can see what they're getting... They would then gather all the figures and sell them as complete sets. On top of that, Early birds will definately get the secret figure. They are priced slightly more expensive this way, but you don't waste time shaking boxes.

Over here, we would say "Shayduale". ROFL! An International MW gathering would be one HUGE mess unless we try to sound like we type.

Accents are nice. They're unique and it kinda makes us all interesting sometimes. It'll be better still if we don't waste too much time trying to figure out if what you hear is exactly what the other person is saying. My bro was in NYC back in '98, he had some trouble too... Hello, I would like a Hautedog please! Seywhaa? A Hautedog. Aywhaa? Thankfully another native New Yorker (I think) helped him out... Ah think ey wans a Haaatdaag. Ouuu, Haaatdaag! If only we all sound the way we type.

Unless the people dear to you think you buy compulsively, there is absolutely no reason why they should knock on you for collecting harmless toys with your money. Maybe you can return da favor... knock back at them when they make the same mistake.

If I'm not wrong, resin statues are first made in very small numbers as garage kits, and they sell for some astronomical price. Then, on some occasion when that particular garage kit becomes too popular, the mold is then bought by a toy company. Once they acquire the licensing rights for it, they make the PVC form of the model, and the price more affordable to the regular collectors.

Its called detail. Any gashapon or trading figure collector here can tell you almost any of their female figures who wear a skirt have pull apart legs and sometimes skirts, that reveal panties underneath. I'm sorry wolfX, I have to disagree. Most of the gashapon or trading figure anime ladies I have seen out there or have in my collection, need absolutely no help from the fanboys in regards to getting some fanservice. Most of them are already posed, flashing their goodies or mildly beckoning one to look straight out of the box. Now Misa, is an exceptional case. What the sculptors have done for her is unneccesary, but it's a nice gesture regardless. Also, calling my friends a bunch of pervs is not nice. I would AT LEAST, call them a bunch of pervs, shake their hands, then give each one of them, a pat on the back.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this - the DYRL style holographic HUD is actually painted on a separate piece of PVC. The sculpted clear PVC piece is then put above it to give that nice "glass screen" effect. I would like a Battroid mode version too, but not at 30 bucks! I hope it won't cost that much should they make one eventually.

Here are the close-ups. My camera can't go closer... but what you see here is pretty much what you'll get. Customizers can strip away the paints and repaint it I think, the only problem you'll have is Hikaru and the seat are glued to one of the cockpit half. Da Close-ups

I don't have the Q-Rau. But since Millia is by CMS, I'm definately getting them. Am Randy as well.
