I think Chii looks fine at the angles they shot of her. If she looks like the way she looks in the anime, on the actual toy itself, I'm sold. A good idea would be for them to include swappable heads with different expression.

Not bad! but, ya should consider coloring that with CorelDraw. Remember the Drop-shadow trick?

It's Official, I'm now a Macross convert!

I dunno man... I rather endure a long planet dance marathon first, than say, a minute- long vision of this agent one tapping his pink pecker on a doorknob. But that just me. Macross 7 ROCKS period. There is no other anime so beautifully made, with so much positivity! Dig it. -
Maybe the fumes just seeped into the color-recognition center of your brain and you only perceive it as being yellowed. The chemicals in automotive paint will mess with your head. How true. This also happens to meself after having waay too much to drink. I tend to see alot of things with tinges of yellow and gold - it's like the sun is still burning bright even though it's only 1am... or I'm a walking into a Kodak 8R, knowwhut I'm sayin'? Hey mebbe muh valks have not yelloed!

Blacklight may be cool, but it's bad for valks. Unless of course, you're telling me that blacklight alone is enough to illuminate your world, then you will never see the damage it does to your valks. Rock on Moleman!

I said screw education because the fact is, what you learn in art schools does not prepare one to handle work in the real world. People like Spacepirateneko may not have that time or money. One might as well start low, by making coffee in good ad agencies and work your way up - come to think of it. I'm glad that some of your teachers are people whose works appeared in the CA magazine. When you have the opportunity, milk that chance to learn every way you can.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "screw education", but you do have a point. Working hard can get you alot of places without the bother. But I've never seen an education be a detriment to landing a great gig. If anything, those without usually wonder if it was their lack of a degree that cost them one. What you are taught in school may not mean jack in the office, but it shows an HR goon that you are a not a quitter and that somebody out there reccommends you and puts the name of their university behind your own. I've seen a great many good candidates for jobs get turned down simply because a company didn't want to risk the uncertainty of hiring someone without a degree. It's always a shame and said candidate usually groans and wishes he'd never quit. When you think about how much time we waste in other stupid follies that we barely remember a year later - doesn't it make sense for a guy to go ahead and put that time and energy to make sure he's at least conisdered for the jobs he might want in the future? Crap, I sound like my mother. But you get the point. College may not be really necessary, but that stupid piece of paper can mean a difference of 10K a year (or much, much more) in many jobs. You're right about the HR guys and that piece of paper... which is kind of sad actually, because many people I know, for example, that hold them know nothing about the equally important side of any creative work - namely the actual production side of things. I have seen just too many design and creative proposals land on my desk that are either too costly, too time consuming or just simply impossible to implement because no one bothered enough to think the whole project through. They expect the grunts clean up whatever they have overlooked everytime. The HR goons may be quick to dismiss anyone with less than a degree as people who are quick to give up. Not everyone without a degree at least are inexperienced, inadequate or quitters. Not everyone who have dumped 12K a semester can land a 10K a year job without wasting anymore money or time looking for these jobs. What of the people who wasted no time by educating themselves with real hands-on experience? If only the HR goons can see beyond that piece of paper, the job market will be a better place.

Nah, screw education. I've been 25 before and was without a job for two full years... I had my art diploma back when I was 21. What I was taught in art college didn't mean jack shiat at all in the real advertising, comics, or fashion world - one of the true reason I went an art college in the first place. And why was college art education useless for me? First of all, it was all text books and hands-on work and practise that mattered nothing on the professional side of the creative industry. So I used the rest of the money I had to buy good creative books, magazines, and etc, to learn to produce stuff that people (consumers) want to see. I work lowly 9 to 5 jobs with the least responsibility, so I afford to buy a computer and go home on time to practise on it soon after work. I borrowed money from my parents so I could afford an occasional precious hangout with friends. I lived with them (me parents) and paid cheap rent till I could find a decent paying job in the creative industry... that was back until I was reached 28. I did fringe design work on the side and moved on to better freelance design work. As I got better, I also got job offers as well as chance to take up fatter design projects. The key to all this is to persevere. And be on time IF you can't be early. Don't be a fool. Why let others make money so easily off you when they don't ever wanna return the favor? Don't be a one trick pony my man. A real artist's life is no different from a beggar's. So learn to be an artist with the mind of a ruthless businessperson with balls of a murderer... then you WILL get some where. Trust me I was there before. I've moved on.

I hear ya man. Dat dude has got to pwn the biggest nutsack in Tinseltown... you can tell by the way he walked.

Moral lesson of the day. Downloading porn thru the internet is never the same as getting the same thing on DVD.

Waddayamean man, there are plenty of new non-same sex porn materials since teh beginning of time... we just kept asking for more! Even IF they do any reruns, we'd still lap it all up.

Rob, big congratulations to you and your wife. -

Ah, this brings back de memories... Color markers and ink pens are very interesting medias to play with. You should try the wedge-headed Berol pens for inking. They can give you thick and thin lines, simply by your turning and twisting of the pen. You should also be bold and generous when applying the color markers. I know it's expensive, but the result and your gradual improvement will be well worth it. I see you like watercoloring as well... color markers kinda work like watercolors - only less messy and the alchohol-based inks smells nice... man, I miss dose schmells, mmm! Hope my old markers are not dried up yet. Hope to see more man. Keep it up!

Damn nice coloring. I like the pencil better though. The only thing I gotta complain about the colored version is that the Q-rau's too clean. I keep cross-referencing on both your versions, and it would be nice to have all the dirt of your pencil on the colored version.

Plastic yellowing aside, the 1/48ths are fantastic. That alone should compel you to get it. If plastic yellowing bothers you that much, you can consider getting the 1/48ths Max and Millia VF1J TV versions. The LowViz is also good. It's not that they won't yellow, they just won't turn out so obvious when they do yellow eventually. That's because of the color dyes they use for the plastics. When they do yellow, you'll notice that their colors are not as vibrant as they were new. Skip anything DYRL for the unneccessary heartaches.

Nothing changed on my Bandai 1/55 reissues yet, but my Hikaru 1/60 and 1/48 VF1As have yellowed.
-
Guys, UV ray and heat are not the cause of plastic yellowing. Oxidation is. Yellowing on plastic is like rust on metal. You can't prevent it unless anti-oxidants are mixed into the plastic from the start. Somebody ought to start kicking Yamato for the Anti-oxidants in the plastics they use. Even el-cheapo outdoor furniture and household items maker use them. Heck at least Bandai and Hasegawa are already using them for their model kits. CHEAP MODEL KITS!!! Don't the pricy Macross toys merit a similar treatment if not better Yamato?

Although I don't know you in person, I have seen your work. Greg Lane, it'll be a pity to see it all get wasted. Fight back by raising your child well. Sometimes tragedy messes with us so much, it needs a f.u.c.k.i.n.g slap to it's face. You can do it, just make sure you do it hard enough so it remembers your name well and not f.u.c.k around anymore. Take care.

Her eyes have always appeared more green than blue. Plus, pretty girls with blue eyes are plenty. But those with green eyes are rare.
