Question 2 and 3 of my first post remain unanswered. -
Hope to know what's going on...

I appreciate your response. But I think you should'nt indulge WJ on that rash request. It could have given him the time to cool off and comeback a better person. Can you tell me why did you let him get away with it? And he did what he did many times. Why isn't any other mod doing anything to size him up? The issue here MMX, is not about being abit or overly sensitive. It's about trying to contribute something and make this place positive. Macrossworld, please do not forget to be nice. -

And to what end do you see, when a member like Togo shoots his mouth without even a thought in his head? I'm can understand the occasional dissing banters (even I, am guilty of it sometimes) but getting to the point of pissing off people irreversably is another problem altogether. Bloodbath? I'm glad you see the gravity of this issue here. Does your friend the Duke see the end that you're looking at right now, everytime he opens his mouth? I'll leave the answer to you. Many members who DO think and enjoy WJ's occasional stuff are probably never going to see anything from him for good. -
1) Did you have any other reasons to let Windjammer go, aside from his wish to do so? 2) What has been Duke Togo's contributions to MW? 3) Has Duke Togo's contributions to MW been so much more significant than other members' that he's allowed to do whatever he did? I hope you can give some answers. Thank you.

It gets interesting when they make hentai games available. -
Very nice! I got nothing to complaint about her butt. Give her too much meat and she won't look nice playing volley ball. What did you use to color her? It's really nice to see your stuff in color.

Brazen piece of plastic, I dub thee, Gundam ONE.

The biker chick that came with the gashapon set is one of my favorites. In fact, the rest of the girls are decently posed, so they actually look more sexy/racy rather than vulgar. Good idea with that Millia head switch and Qrau picture as well.

Doesn't Shawn realize?

I can never understand why there must be such imature suggestion to shut this site down whenever times are slow, or whenever people happen to talk more of other anime and sci-fi related stuff. So it's true that times are slow for now - so what, at least there will be people around when something "Macross" comes up! This site and the name it carries is why there are still Macross and Robotech fans around - Don't anyone ever forget that. Of all the angles to choose from, why would some still choose to look at the negative and suggest something as drastic as shutting the site down have always baffled me. I guess there will always be backseat drivers. There is one thing which is undeniable about this site though, Shawn owns it. Be glad he doesn't broom your arse - for such insolent ideas. -
They show hikaru jettisonning the GBP in the series, nose cone intact. I don't mind the nosecone removal, if it looks good... Actually, what you said is true. But the nosecone was stowed somewhere in them cargo pockets. It was installed by the Battroid's hands during transformation from Gerwalk to Fighter. Most of you just didn't catch it!
-
About the 1/48 GBP Battroid sans the nosecone issue... We were never shown in the anime; whether or not the GBP armor was installed with or without the nosecone. So I'm gonna ASSUME with authority that the ground techies DID indeed remove the nosecone before setting up the GBP armor. Here's why... Ya don't see many footballers wear their ball-guards beyond the field while hanging out in their favorite tight-fitting jeans. The GBP is tight as well as more than fitting for the Valk, ya know. Oh, and my comparison of the nosecone to a balls-guard is spot on, don't any of you deny it. They're both protecting something.

::hesitates for a while at the sight of the wierd cleavage, then humps the monitor anyway:: -
Nope, Yamato only need to produce the valks. The only people that Harmony Gold would go after are the retailers in the US, I'm sure you already know that. But as long as Yamato continues to churn out the goods, the US retailers will continue to carry them no matter how wrong it is to HG's own interpretation of the selling rights. Short of over-flooding the collectors market, Yamato have absolutely nothing to loose so long as their products continue to sell.
-
True, but ya gotta look at the amount of 1/48 valks they're making each time they miscalculated a demand. If they are REALLY catering for the people who knows Robotech as well, the numbers would have been several times more than that. Each time a 1/48 is remade, the multiple buying Macross fans would overkill Yamato's numbers. Yamato would like to have more people buying their Macross products, but they lack the balls to help themselves.
-
At the current limited units that Yamato are commited to produce, I rather that people who only knew Robotech, stay with the MPC toys. Let those who know and will appreciate what's good have the Yamato 1/48s. Either that, or somebody install some boot prints on Yamato's arse so they make more.

Everything will drop like flies when all of them do the Tsundaa Bureak. -
I like the Battroid mode of the Bandai Macross 7 valks best. What's more, they are one of the very last Macross toys that are really made in Japan. Yes the bootlegs are nice as well, but the real difference is, where one notices the cheap plastics on both versions, the Bandai one has a better finishing and joining at the seams. I like my Firevalk the most.

Yay, large p'nuses can now be achieved with exposure to radioactivity! Join da club yo! -
I got mine for about a week now. While I like the extra articulation they gave fatty, I dislike that they made the crotch part with plastic. The metal moving part that allowed for fatty to pose well is screwed on to nothing else but plastic. Which brings us to this one word of caution - I have sampled and compared many pieces of the same SOC Fatty and found out that his hip articulation (some on the right or left leg) are put together too tightly than it is neccessary. Some of their legs are so tight, I can't (dare not) even bring his afflicted foot forward without risking breakage. Aside from that, I dislike how they have made his biceps too thin. My overall sentiment of this toy is just a Halfassed Okay - a Halfassed Okay, because I got choose and buy the best one out of a small stock. An Okay is given because despite all the nifty LED feature, the magnetic control box that affects it's eye color; the tight hip joint problem stood out the most - unfortunately for me. He just have to be perfect. The best Fatty crown still goes to the SoftGarage rendition with Marmit's following closely behind. It's funny how all of the above came to surface after Bandai stopped Previews IIRC, from selling the T28 SoftGarage and Marmit versions just about a month before they launch theirs. I have a feeling that Bandai will later on, sell an "R" version of their T28 with a metal crotch - exactly like what they did with Great Mazinger and etc... with previously plastic made parts but later on replaced with metal. I would like SOC T28 to be TOTY, but then again, maybe not. Maybe I'm just too anal with Bandai, especially when it's MY favorite robot that they were making.

Really? Awww...that sucks. So much for freedom of expression. The goal of any form of positive freedom of expression is for the betterment of all. In Man-faye's terms however, I bet the goal is to be tolchoked and knifed. -
Gonna wait for the "SP" version of this DS. I ain't gonna be a sucka like teh last time.

THE PRODUCT-the primary job of any product packaging is to protect it. Everything else would be secondary to it. A bookstyle packaging is just a nice compromise for the collectors who want to play with the product inside, as well as displaying it, and those who just want to keep it mint. A 10-20 dollar mark-up is a fat dream for someone like Toynami or Yamato IF they are REALLY thinking to make a 100 percent profit that easy - off each VF type sale. $10-20 X 15,000 profit just for the packaging - They had better allocate that kind of money hiring a heavier-weight sculptor/toymaker to make a better product, just to make damn sure the product sells well! Making a better packaging with all the bells and whistles is just another good excuse to loose sleep. It better to concoct another halfarse scheme for world peace.
-
If there is ever a textbook example of OT, the MPC bookstyle packaging and the way they made the toy inside, would be it. I just want a nicely designed toy and decent enough packaging that can bring it to me - nothing else. Toynami went and f uc k up the toy and lay it in a nicely made coffin instead. Go Toynami!
