toy section becomes a danger zone....
fifbeat replied to calvin's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Whatever, haterist. You're too impressed with yourself. Nobody, not once, said anything about people being dumb/stupid for buying it. It's funny, the real "bitches" are the ones bitching about the people bitching. So we're only supposed to complain once, eh? Didn't know about those rules. I'm sorry, should I kiss the ground you walk on, too? My crap stinks, yours doesn't. *rolls eyes* If we all complained once, they'd just get moved down; and all the comments that we disagreed with, wouldn't be here for "newbie" to see. "Newbie" has the right to see all opinions. Afterall, "newbie" visited this forum for advice. Once "newbie" thinks about both opinions, he'll choose which advice to take. And whatever "newbie" chooses is history. If we can only complain once, I guess it would be logical for everybody to rave once, too? (See my point? Can you read?)... forum, discussion... this is what this is. Mods, are you listening? If comments bother you that much, don't read them. And yeah, we have right, as consumers to read - and react - to whatever the product is, that's being served to us. Yeah, it's a right-to-buy market, but if we all keep pumping out dough - while not questioning value - some of this Yamato stuff is just going to get higher and higher in price. I don't care if we're the "target" audience or not. It's still our money. And I'll tell you right now, mine doesn't grow from a garden. And yes, I'm bringing up the issue again. This is a forum FFS. Discussion happens here, disagreements or not. Like I said before, if you guys don't want any static (admins/owners), CLOSE the forum down and just have a bulletin for the Yamato "sales people". Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a Toynami MPC to make fun of... -
Even one in that condition? Hmmm.... we'll see.
-
Wow. That one totally looks like it's factory new. Even the stickers haven't been applies. Too bad the thing will be like $500 by the end of the week. I hate ebay.

Well, if you guys don't want opinions and comments - whether they sound rude or not - then don't visit forums at all. Just have Shawn or Graham have a bulletin where ONLY they can post; and the rest of you guys can nod your heads and agree with everything like a bunch of "yes men". I've been called "bitchy" and I don't think I have been. Enough sensitivity already -- stop acting like a bunch of little girls when someone complains about a product. These toys are expensive (whether we're college grads, or not), so expect questionable and judgmental comments once in a while. It won't hurt... This is a great a place to visit. But ease up folks. -
warrhead, damn dude, your Orgroid is as clean as a whistle... I want one bad.
-
Myriad, Do you know if the DVDs that valkyrie-exchange.com are any good quality-wise? And, what about Orguss II? Thanks.
-
Those are nice, clear shots.... where did you get those photos?
-
Thanks, JBO well, I guess I was about half right.
-
Are you serious? Explain. Holy. Anyone have screen shots? I need to see this to believe. I know I saw an Orgroid/Orgoid. I know I did.

...I believe this little guy made a cameo in Macross! I've never seen the series (is it good?), but I always loved the Takatoku toy. I always thought it looked beefier and more anime-like (much like the Yamato's of today) than the Takatoku VFs. Even the Nikick (or whatever the thing was called) was pretty sweet. Do you guys think Yamato will ever bring these back from the dead? Hell, even if Bandai re-issued these, just like the VFs, I think that would be just as good. Now these, I'd pay $120 for. P.S. How is the series? I'm really thinking about picking them up from vf-exchange.com.

IMMFHO = In My Muther frakking Humble Opinion?
-
Now, a 11" SDF/Macross, I'd pay anything under $200 for. How, HOW can this thing not be demanding? I think it takes more than a "poll" to get good response. They should create a prototype, then go from there. If they do it the same way they did the 1/48s, they'll for surely have a best-seller. Besides, from all the profit they'll be making from the "Q-Rau", I'm sure they can afford to take a chance.
-
I understand, guys. I will, however, start my own Q-rau "consumer advice" thread later tonight. Hopefully, I'll get the same respect for the thread topic and it won't be closed. EXO, it all falls in the same topic as far as I'm concerned. It's basically: A) You're either all for paying that much for the Q-rau and you're a good guy OR B) you're questioning it, stating why, and all of the sudden, you're the red-headed step child. But yeah, other than that, I understand. I won't post in this thread any more. I'll start my own.
-
Hmmm, if that's the case, the topic should have been closed WAY before it did. Starting with that dude's comments about 'go to college and get an education so you can buy expensive things'... but I suppose, just because that guy was willing to purchase one with no gripe, it was un-noticed. Nice moderating, fellas. There was nothing wrong with that thread and the way it was going. Who cares if it went a little off-topic or some people need to let a little "spark" fly? Are we a sensitive kids, or conversating adults? You know, you can have "power" without having a power-trip. And, that's what it's all about. This is a discussion forum, let us discuss things. Some subjects will have have disagreements. That's natural. Keep things as organized as they can, but be prepared to let things get out of hand once in a while.
-
No offense to the guy who started this thread... I just think if it were but why was the old one closed? And now this new thread, which is practically the same "continued" version, is now opened? We need less moderation in this place. I'm sure you guys do what you gotta do to keep this place organized, but this is ridiculous. I know, I know... "leave if you don't like the rules" -- thought I'd say it to myself before someone said it to me. We have ex-Robotech mods in here or something?
-
I suppose this topic shouldn't be here, but I like the knowledgable folk in here, so please mods, don't delete if you can help it. Is there a difference between the Anniversary Japanese Optimus Prime and the one I see at my Wal-Mart stores for $60? If there isn't, I think I might pick it up. It's almost half the price of what online retailers are offering for the Japanese version. And speaking of the toy, how is it? Is it quality? Worth picking up? Also, the same goes for that Oh, and same questions about the BT-02 Lamboru (Sideswipe). There is also a Wal-mart version of it. Thanks.

Will do. (for now on, that is)

http://www.foundrydx.com/ Thought I'd share it. If this is nothing new to you folks, my apologies for posting it. (If I missed it, I was probably too busy making $5 an hour, pumping gas into Haterist' flawless, 500k, gold plated, diamond gauged, gas powered skateboard that transforms into a robot...) And yes, I do agree, Haterist IS a tool.

LOL! Check out her head. Lucky the helmit isn't removable, otherwise, she'd look like one of those Kubrick figures. Wonder if you can buy the figure seperate for $30.
-
Once again, my bad. My apoligies to Graham; even though, I didn't mean no disin' to begin with. Thanks for the info.

I love the 1/55 Bandai's! In fact, I like them better than the original Tatsuwhateveryoucallthatbrand that were released in the 80's. Mostly due to the new paintings, where there used to be stickers. They always stand, they're solid as hell, and I don't think they look that bad. They only look bad when comparing them to the new-school VFs. I say get them. And for the price, they're a steal. Too bad the M&M's are nowhere to be found (at least for a low price)... Now, these new Bandai's, they use plastic that won't "yellow", right?
-
Look, I'm sure the thing is a good product, and since it doesn't transform, I'm sure it's pretty sturdy. But paying $120 for something like this? Your going to get some people that are going to question it. This is what this forum is all about, right? I'm surprised to see so many people get annoyed about the peeps that are questioning the price. The best thing I've read on this thread so far is this: Props to whoever said that. Like I said, I don't think the pre-orderers of this product are doing a bad thing. But please, don't think our "bitching" is a bad thing, either. My bad. My apoligies to Graham. I admit, I haven't read the whole site yet.
-
Yeah, but you're forgetting the whole point. It's the $$$$ difference. Ford Focus: $13,000 Ford GT: $150,000 Sure, different price, different product. Of course we can't compare the two. 1/48 VF: $130 Q-Rau: $120 Ouch! $10 difference, yet we get so, so, so much more with the 1/48. Highly comparable. I ended my grievances about the Q-Rau. It was your "you can't compare the two" comment that made me grieve. Graham loved it. But don't forget, and correct me if I'm wrong, but he gets the sample mech as "media" material for the high amount of $0.00. If it came out of his pocket, I don't think the product would be that celebrated. No offense to macrossworld.com or Graham, because if I got the product shipped to me for nothing, I'd be raving about it, too.
-
They're both Macross, they're both high-priced, they're both Yamato. What else do you want? Okay, let's compare the Q-Rau to a Snickers bar. Better? *rolls eyes*
