The Future of Macross - Where will it go from here??
fifbeat replied to taksraven's topic in Movies and TV Series
Of course. =) What do you expect? Facts? A sequel to the original Macross would be great. -
Video Games that SHOULD be turned into movies......

Sega's Shinobi! -
Nice review. BTW, a bit OT, but have you seen a new korean film called THE CHASER? Great stuff. Best movie I've seen in the last 5 years of my life.

Gotcha.

Thank you. Poseable or not, I think Mint would be a great add on, especially since Ray's is the only one I wouldn't have transformed into full armor mode... Still confused on why the other Mospeada thread was closed. There was a lot of cool info adding up on that; why start all over? I thought the mods were all for backtracking old posts? Make up your mind guys. =)
-
QUESTIONS: Why was that other Mospeada thread closed? And, I see MINT on the back of that Ray MH.... what's the deal? Are they releasing her figure?
-
True or not, that's a pretty sorry excuse. That WAVE would only be better if it was a larger scale. I'm sure there is something else that's stopping companies from making their version. There has to be. Just like the forum post says, it's the focal point of Macross. I think someone has the scale "rights" to make one, but they're just holding back (and they're taking their sweet ass time). Heck, at this point, I'd even buy a fuggin Toynami. I do want that Wave. But that gap between the legs ruins it for me. Small scale as well.

Live Action Movies with Giant Robot/Mecha Thread
fifbeat replied to fifbeat's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Some 1981 Live Action Giant Robot show with Anime puppets and mechs. Good stuff! LOL! Trailer Link: -
The head looks similar to the valk head as well. I used to have a knock off version of Shockwave (it was all silver) and it was pretty solid in every aspect. didn't it have metal feet too?

Cool. Thanks. I can't wait to get mine. "Robotech Masters" is pretty cool. I'm a new fan. Just gotta see the originals now. -
Southern Cross & Genesis Climber Mospeada

Okay, why do we have two different covers? What's the difference between the sets? Anyone? -
Come on, man. You know what I mean. =) Robots. Mechs. Armor. Suit. Japanese. Whatever the heck it is, whether it's a valkyrie, voltron, ride armor.... it's still part of your Japanese Robot/Mech Toy collection.
-
Reasons why I am hesitant on buying a Beagle: 1. Low Budget Cloth Material Cop out. I think it's too loose. Japanese Mech/Robots should be made out of anything but clothy material. They could have at least tightened it up and maybe used different material. Yeah, I know it's all in the cost of making the toy, but still, this is $200! Do it right. That's a lot of money for a low budget filipino guy like myself. 2. No Crotch Guard Okay, there obviously is one, but it's so high that it looks more like a belt than a crotch guard. Yes, all this, so he can sit on the bike right -- that's fine, but they could have come to a better conclusion! 3. I'm broke I tell ya... having your own house, with no roommates, car payments, beer money.... a $200 purchase really puts a dent in the budget. =( I guess I could have went to medical school, but that's besides the point! I gotta stop ordering mail order bridges and find me a rich wife. Besides, I gotta save my money for the 1/60 Destroids! Anyways, look how much better it would look if the bottom cloth was at least white; and if the crotch armor covered more of this manhood: And, is it just me, or that head really big?
-
Gotcha. Wonder what it looks like under the cloth. Like if the arms or plastic is thick enough, so if someone wants to customize it (paint the legs all white, and the arms the redish color)... Don't get me wrong. It's a fine looking toy. That hint of cloth just takes the menace out of it!
-
That cloth really bothers me on the Beagle. Especially the fact that it bleeds out of his thighs/legs... Does anyone know if it was cloth in real life? (aka in the anime) or more of a rubbery "bat suit" material?
-
QC? I'd be down for an MH Legioss. Better be bigger than 5" though! (and of course, no pieces flying off while I'm transforming it, like Genius said!)
-
CM's are alright. I do give props for them making a transforming toy; yet still maintaining that great, well-proportioned Anime-look. I just don't like the pointy feet and the nipples are too small and facing inwards too much. Very noticeable. The others are too short and stubby and out of proportion. Same can be said about Gakkens, but they have the excuse for being classics. I say it again - Toynami's Superposeables look the best. Just not sure about the gummy missile launcher. But that's a given I guess. =)
-
On that Dark Legioss above.... Those missiles, especially on the legs look.......... wack! Why even bother with detail as half-a$$ed as that? Other than that, not a bad looking toy. Back to that picture: I like the Toynami Superposable as well. =)
-
Well, at least you can use the helmets for that problem. I'm still torn about what I decide to do when I get the MH Houqet. I want her in armor mode AND I want to see her face. I might have to get two. I've decided that I'm gonna hold back on the Beagle. The MH pack is good enough for me. Besides, I don't need baggy cloth parts on my mechs! BTW, question for you all. And don't be biased. Look at this picture... Now, at first glance, which one looks the best OVERALL? And I'm talking about this mode, this picture, only!
-
Thanks for correcting me. =) Let me just edit what I said... here goes: For a toy that cost this much, you better be able to take it with you if you die. A few strokes of paint and a pretty box ain't worth it. Do I want one? Sure. Do I envy the person who owns one? You bet. Are sellers snickering everytime they sell one of these? You bet your a$$.
-
I think they ordered too much extra glitter/translucent/shiny plastic and they need to get rid of it! Looking forward to the bright green, gold and hot pink versions. =)

I totally agree. They might as well add some glitter and glow in the dark elements. Seriously starting to look like a knock off of their own product. Thanks again Jenius for full coverage. =)
