Ah yes, the touring X-Wings. They were only about 3/4 scale, btw.

Bugs Bunny and Friends. The NEXT Generation?

Meh...it doesn't affect me one way or the other. If you want to complain about "childhood rapeage" you should look at the molested versions of the classic Looney Toons that get aired today. 21st century PCness has not been kind to the 'toons from the 40's and 50's. -

OK here's one of my favorites. If this one turns out to be true...? Well, there won't be any question about Vader's motivations any longer. -
Have I walk into the wrong Macrossworld?

After re-reading the entire original thread in question, I gotta say that I'm even more in Duke's court on this one. Nanashi didn't want to answer Duke's questions? Fine. He wants to take his ball and go home? Immature, but nobody's forcing him to come here. He goes to the trouble of having his account deleted so everybody can "see" that he's left? Drama queen. -

It's a good idea in theory, but I despise crossovers. Maybe someday we'll do an illustrated "Versus" thread. -

That is because in the 80's, the US Airforce were test using powerloaders. According to a Discovery Channel website I happened across 8 or 9 years ago, The US Airforce were field testing them to see if they were worth the effort. Ultimately, they decided not to mass produce them due to the weight instability. According a military aircraft enthusiat that I trust, the powerloaders from 'Aliens' are those very same test units rented out to 20th Century Fox. Can I interest you in a bridge that I happen to have for sale? It's in like new condition, and is guaranteed to appreciate in value.

Hope to know what's going on...

Exactly. Its not as if a deleted account will in any way preclude a member from simply rejoining should they wish to. The only purpose this whole "Please delete my account" bullshit serves is to call attention to the fact that the drama queen in question is leaving. Any dramatic exits should merely be greeted with some sort of animated .gif of somebody or something waving "Bye-bye." (like that actress that showed up at the end of the Area 88 fansubs) -

Notice how AgentONE has cleverly retconned the DYRL style Britai into what is clearly the TV version of that scene. -

How about this? It's not quite Ep III spoiler material, but it's not quite EU material either. Its a sort of Star Wars Tales by the actual artists in the ROTS art department. Grevious on his way to being cyborged Some sort of Jedi Purge art Cover art. Read about it HERE -

Man....the M60 is a good example of engineers not being able to leave well enough alone. -
Yukikaze sucks. Oh, and do a freaking search before starting 10 more threads about it.

I dunno about that... the ISDs in Star Wars always seem to miss an awful lot (My personal gripe on Sci-Fi: In an age of shields, ion propulsion, and laser cannons, nobody has the brains to invent a slightly better targeting system???) Perhaps, in the future, it's not that targeting systems suck... perhaps the targets' ECM or ability not to be targeted has just advanced that much... In any case, most realistic mecha? Jr. Mobile Suit. You guys are also underestimating the "Hero Effect" on the Imperials aim. Star Wars would have been a pretty short film if the ISD had taken out the Falcon as it fled Tatooine, or if the Stormtroopers had managed to land a hit on Luke & Leia as they ran around in the Death Star. They certainly never had a problem hitting the no-name rebels. As for Mecha, I think that, given the complexity of human movement, the only practical way to control a humanoid machine would be a control system like the Landmates. (spare us your "video game joystick combo" control scheme. )

How big is too big? I think that THIS is pushing the boundaries of practicality. Interesting find, though. It makes you wonder whats still lurking in warehouses over in Eastern Europe. -

Eh..creepy 2-stage triggers are pretty much what I'm accustomed to with milsurp rifles. I'm sure the Sig is very nice and all, but like anything Swiss it doesn't come cheap. -

Well since this thread is alive and kicking, I figure I'll post a link that shows that the eulogy for the XM-8 may have also been premature. Clicky Clicky And just because its a sexy picture, here's some G36KA2 pr0n. -
Yikes! Even I'm not edumacated enough to teach in Japan. Not that I had some dream of teaching there, but its still a bit of a let down to know I'm not "good enough."

I'm usually leery of anything featuring Keanu in the lead role, but this movie has been getting some really positive buzz from some critics that I tend to rely on. I think I'll take a chance and see this one theatrically.

ZOMG!!! teh CGI is terrible!1! Puppets looked much more lifelike!!! They were more compelling!!!11! Blah blah blah.... No seriously, it's cool to see a classic like this brought back. Growing up I had zero exposure to any of the Gerry Anderson shows, perhaps owing to their lack of popularity over here.
