Not necessarily. You can easily hate both shows. I just didn't include a "Both" option because 1) it seemed unlikely that somebody would hate both shows with the exact same hatred. 2) voting "both" is the easy way out. People need to learn to articulate.

Again you seem to have misconstrued just what we were discussing there. The "debate" in the clone wars thread is only tangentially related to SW and is not really related to anything PT versus OT. I'm simply pointing out your flawed notion that the PT films are somehow "unpopular." But in regards to this thread, by all means argue away! Being that this is the interweb, I'm sure there'll be somebody along in a little while who hasn't had their share of arguing.

We've danced around this topic a lot, but now I want a definitive answer once and for all from the Macross community. This isn't intended to settle which is the worst Macross series overall, or which is the "true" heir to SDF Macross. It is simply to prove once and for all which of these two shows is the least popular. And for you milquetoast fence-sitters, I'll allow you to vote 'neither' as long as you post a reply stating your opinion that anything with the UN Spacy kite is A-ok in your book.

Frankly I'm tired of the whole debate and am looking forward to May 20th when it'll all be over. Go to any film message board and you'll see that these topics are like a cancer. Nobody is going to change their mind at this point, and life is too short to waste time arguing about this poo anymore. But since you seem to feel otherwise, go right ahead. Either way, I give this thread another 3 hours before a mod locks it.

1999 called. It wants this topic back. Maybe your time would be better spent on something that hasn't been argued to death, like yet another Macross 7 thread?

Returned to CN, "The Clone Wars" has, hmmm.

I made no claims whatsoever that everybody who saw the films "enjoyed" them. I think there's a slight misunderstanding as to what we're talking about here. pop·u·lar adj. 1. Widely liked or appreciated: a popular resort. 2. Liked by acquaintances; sought after for company: “Beware of over-great pleasure in being popular or even beloved” (Margaret Fuller). 3. Of, representing, or carried on by the people at large: the popular vote. 4. Fit for, adapted to, or reflecting the taste of the people at large: popular entertainment; popular science. 5. Accepted by or prevalent among the people in general: a popular misunderstanding of the issue. 6. Suited to or within the means of ordinary people: popular prices. 7. Originating among the people: popular legend. Based on those definitions, its fair to say that a film that does big BO is popular. Films only break the 300 million mark by repeat viewings. And before you bring it up, I've heard the whole fanboyish argument about how people would see TPM several times before it sank in that it was "rapingly bad" or some other such childish nonsense. Bear in mind that fanboys make up a small percentage of the larger movie-going public. But in the most basic sense of the word, both prequel films were popular during their initial theatrical runs. The public in general saw the movies, and continued to see them all summer long. And that popularity seems to have carried over to their DVD sales. Finally, I don't recall making any reference to ticket or DVD sales showing any kind of preference over something else. Back in '02 I saw both AOTC and Spiderman, and based on their success I'd say that they were both popular films. Believe it or not, it is possible to like multiple franchises. So how would you gauge popularity then? -

Ticket sales are a perfectly acceptable, and more importantly non-subjective method of gauging a films popularity. How else would you measure the public's interest in a film than by how little or how much they saw it? A poll? The IMDB user comments? No, saying that a film sold "X" number of tickets, and "Y" number of DVDs is as good a way as any to cite how popular it was. Now using ticket sales to measure a film's quality is another issue altogether. -

Ok, this is a wee bit on the political side, but its something I think my fellow gun owners should be made aware of. This is something I'm reposting from the canadiangunnutz.com boards, about our "friends" in the UN. Suddenly, emmigrating to the US seems a lot more appealing. F*ck the UN! -

thats got to be a photochop. There's no way the Oak could have deteriorated that much since we last saw his pecs, back in T3.

Brothers in Arms is probably on par with COD in visual terms. What sets BIA apart from COD is that the levels are meticulously recreations of real French towns in Normandy, unlike the generic villages in COD. Also, the ability to actually command your AI squadmates is much more satisfying than the scripted idiots in COD. Like Full Spectrum Warrior, you can actually use fire and movement tactics instead of just charging into the next scripted battle like you would in COD. Also, the weapons are modeled much more satisfyingly than I've seen yet. The rifles have actual weight to them, and you cannot hold the sights on a particular pixel waiting for the enemy to show themselves. The rifles will sway slightly in your hands, just like a 9 pound M1 really would. So far I'm on D Day +1 and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I can't believe you guys keep mentioning theforce.net. Do you think he wants to read about a bunch of 15 year olds bickering about "Tell me it isn't so: Blue versus Blue for the duel?" You might as well send him to Robotech.com! -

Depneds on what kind of lava. Lava can be "cool" enough to walk on, yet it will still burn the crap out of you. However, it now seems that Annie falls down a slope near a lava flow and winds up in burning hot sand. Actually he blames it on the Jedi and their "wicked sorcery." Thus justifying their extermination. -

and while this one shouldn't be considered a spoiler for anyone with half a brain, there are those who cling to the belief that Palpatine and Sidious were two different entities. *****NON-SPOILER*****
