The chin spoiler and rear valence look nice and clean, but those side skirts look like they don't even fit properly.

Ya mean this isn't Robotech.com?

Even better, my buddy Majestic chimes in! Now all we need is a snide comment about "ditto head Lucas apologists" and this thread is complete!

Awesome! Agent ONE's firstborn son delurks for the sole reason of flaming his father.

As a guy who has nearly every Revell/Monogram kit made in the last 25 years, I can vouch for their quality. The newest kits are all quite good, with lots of little details molded in. The 2005 kit should (hopefully) be a winner.
-
Why would you do that to yourself?
-
Naw....those kits are too well proportioned to ever be Superunposeable toys. Toynazi would have to mess around with the design first, like making the feet several sizes too big, or adding inappropriate angles, bulges and curves here and there.

See, I don't think there's anythign inherently "geeky" about liking 20 year old Macross, anime, or sci fi in general. If you put two movie fans in a room, one a fan of Blade Runner and one a fan of Casablanca, is the BR fan somehow the geek simply because its sci fi? No, watching anime in moderation is no different from watching anything else, TV or movies. Its the people Roy described in his post that make things difficult for the casual fan. The ones who take it too far and live for cospaly, or the ones who debate DYRL as if it were a real event and not some 20 year old film, and the ones who somehow think being a fan (or an "otaku" as they like to identify themselves) makes them somehow so Japanese that they eat nothing but ramen and ichiban, and use phrases like "konichiwa" and "soyanara" in everyday conversations. These are the people who ruin it for the rest of us, and they need to be rounded up and isolated from society so that we can study them to find what nutrients they can provide us.

"Heard of this club?" Dude, I'm a charter member!

Only positives, eh? Let's see... Macross 7 has not been conclusively been proven to cause cancer, and until such a time that it is, I think we can regard that as a positive.

You have GOT to be kidding. "Equivalent Trade," or whatever your translation of choice calls it, is one of the fundamental premises of the show.

Oh man..you ain't seen nothing yet!

I still wish they'd kept the Cylon design closer to the original Centurions. Sure the design might be a little dated, and a little too "man in suit" looking, but the way they used to film the old suits in the early episodes was so iconic. That hazy filter, the super reflective highlights off the chrome, and of course the red eye. Ah well, what can you do?

Looks great, but I like my armor dirty.

Robotech honored by Science Fiction Museum

Then you'd know that it wasn't an offical Alien movie, but a cheapie Italian ripoff. But don't take my word for it....try IMDB. Dammit, beaten to the punch by JsARC. Again. -

Robotech "contributed" to science fiction in the way that Alien 2: On Earth, Battle Beyond the Stars and Lady Terminator did; They all ripped off somebody else's work and pretended it was something original. The fact that this Science Fiction Museum would be ignorant of this (or even worse, you ignore it) doesn't exactly speak highly of them. -

I can't explain why, but this has the musty, sweaty odor of "bankofkev" about it. -

NEW TRAILER!! Oh I am going to get good and loaded on my birthday and see this movie! Note the gratuitous use of first person in the trailer? Good god, I hope that's in the final movie.

That's impossible, even for a Coordinator! -
I am with ya man, the rear end (allong with the rest of the car) is huge. I like all but the back end, its like they had the perfect car, then they decided to put a Buick trunk on it. 322872 You guys are nuts. Besides, I thought some guys liked a girl with a bit of junk in her trunk.

Anyone Else Have Problems With Shipping Carriers?
bsu legato replied to DeathHammer's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I can vouch for this. Not only is DHL terrible for delivery, but they have a hideously user-unfriendly system for arranging alternate pickup. Last but not least, they have no online payment methods available in Canada and any outstanding bill must be paid by Money Order (I swear to god) sent via snailmail to an address on the other side of the country. What decade do they think this is? I'm having flashbacks of WWII! 322722 I can top that. I had a firearms dealer in Ontario ship me a new handgun last year. As per the law, it was sent by the absolute most secure service available, which meant that only certain certified personell could even touch the package. But in spite of that, DHL managed to lose my handgun for nearly a week! Their online tracking service inexplicably showed it as still being in the loading dock in Mississauga. After chasing after them for a day or two, they managed to locate it here in Winnipeg (!) and it promptly and quietly showed up at my door. They came VERY close to being reported to the RCMP for theft that day. -
I don't know about that. I was mulling this over after I finished HL2 last fall, and it dawned on me that there's actually very little story so far. Gordon sees and experiences a bunch of weird things, but there's little or no explanation for any of it. In game terms, I'm hoping this is finally adressed in the next installment, but for a movie it would just be a bunch of incoherent babble with no context. It would be the Lost Highway of video game movies. Then again, even that is bound to be better than Uwe Boll's Far Cry will be.

Its neat, but not really essential for anything that follows. See it for the gorgeous animation, which includes our only glimpses of the VF-4.
