Nanomachines, maybe?

IIRC, they were already incredulous that a Beechcraft from Nigeria could somehow make its way to the island last season. But there's more happening here than we know yet, in case you didn't notice.

Patton never shot any civilians and left the others for dead. Or did they omit that part in the movie? You guys don't seem to understand that, if Cain were to continue on her merry way, there wouldn't be any society left. Even if she managed to win, there would just be her and a couple petty officers left alive at the end. As one of the civilians who she'd either draft, execute, or otherwise strand in space, I'd rather take my chances with Adama.

And a bowl of dogfood tastes better in comparison to a bowl of steaming turds, but you'll excuse me if I decline to taste either one.

I guess its safe to assume that the "spoilers" DeathHammer cross-posted from AICN are complete and utter bs? Shannon dying of a disease indeed. If you call lead poisoning a disease.

Resident Evil 1 & 2 359772 What, was there an anime version that I missed? I thought for a second you were referring to the Paul Anderson suck-fests that we saw here in North America Fixed that last line for ya.

I missed the part where Cain could function as a part of society. We've seen that she'd only strip mine it in order to feed her war machine. If, that is, there even is any hope in defeating the vastly superior number of Cylons in the first place. And before anybody mentions it, let me say now that if somebody finds a magic "Cylon off-button" that lets them win, I will puke.

What if we combined some of those topics? We could piss on pictures of our moms, or take & post pictures of other members moms. I do like the "Oprah" redirect idea. Would it take long to code?

Major Johnathan, your rather niave tirade misses one crucial fact that throws your whole analysis on its ear: For all parties concerned, its literally the end of the world. All semblence of structure (outside of what little remains of humanity comprising the fleet) has broken down, and while you may dislike nearly all the Galactica crew for what you percieve as flagrant disregard for discipline, they are doing so in what can only be described as extra-ordinary circumstances. That, and your imaginary "perfect Colonial fleet" translates to really, really f*cking boring television. I know you'd like to see all conflict externalized to a basic Galactica vs Cylons level, so that there's no squabbling between the principles (and while we're at it, those pesky civilians should STFU about "Earth" already) so they can concentrate on Cylon ass-kicking, but the resulting stories would be so dripping in fanwank that it would likely defy description. In short, I thank the Lords of Kobol you're not in a postion to write any televison that I'll ever see.

I'm going to raise the "bs" flag on this one, at least until I hear it from a more mainstream movie site. Who knows...Boll himself could be spreading this rumor, in order to drum up support for his other projects. Now that they've closed that loophole in German tax laws, he's going to be increasingly desperate for money. Its not as if his films temselves will cover their own costs.

Adamalyn haven't turned on the defenseless civilians they're supposed to be serving. Cain has. Adamalyn wins. Now, the lack of a long term plan of the Adama/Rosalyn combine is actually part of my larger "Galactica thesis" but that goes beyond the scope of this specific discussion. They might not have thought it out yet, but at least they have some semblence of a plan.
-
I find it difficult to imagine a scenario where the Galactica can win in a shooting war with the Cylons. Even if the Cylons didn't just overwhelm the Galactica with sheer numbers, they could easily wear them down by attrition. There's less than 50,000 humans left alive. And the Cylons? For all we know, they could have massive factories capable of producing a Raider every 30 seconds. They certainly seemed nonplussed by the loss of the Basestar over Kobol. Like Adama said, the "war" is over. We lost. The only realistic option is to get the hell out of that region of the galaxy altogether.
-
How about the fact that not everybody buys into the military ubermensch fantasy that you seem to be projecting onto the show. They're trying to not only save their lives, but their society as well. And that's something that Cain can't or won't understand.

I'll wait for the Uwe Boll signature edition. -
What Graham Is Doing, Other Than Updating Mw
bsu legato replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
There's no way Graham would miss updating the site for anything as mundane as your pictures, Agent ONE. I'm sure he was doing somthign much more important, like saving a bunch of orphans from a bus that's overheating...with a flat tire....from a dam that's bursting. Yeah...that's the ticket. -
Sure, it was just about editing some quotes....this time. But now Agent ONE is clearly on that slippery slope of post editing.

"classic" Movies That You Piss On
bsu legato replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I didn't liked Sin City too but my reasons was It tried too hard to tell eveyone's story and ends up being too much work too follow whos alive and whos dead. Bad Story flow 357188 Ok, I liked Sin City and all.....but I think its WAY too early to be calling it a "classic," much less pissing on said classic status. -
Hey! Only half that joke is legal. I finished my bit, now its his turn. (its not MY fault you haven't noticed yet)
-
Interesting spoilers about the Cylon agenda. It looks like the second half of the season could have some serious surprises in store for the poor fleet.

"classic" Movies That You Piss On
bsu legato replied to Agent ONE's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
AFIK, what we know as the "Director's Cut" is simply a restored version of the original theatrical cut with some minor alterations suggested by Scott. At the same time as the BR retoration was going on, he was working on what would have been the real director's cut, based off of the rediscovery of the fabled workprint. This version was, sadly, stillborn and there was only time to work in a couple of minor chages into what became the director's cut. The only changes are the deletion of Ford's narration (with some minor edits to music & sound to smooth over the gaps in the soundtrack), the unicorn scene, and the elimination of the "happy" ending. -

But....the editing is the same in both versions. It probably just feels different because of Ford's narration in the theatrical cut. -
I'm pretty sure it was an old percussion revolver they dressed up...like this Rogers and Spencer: 356156 Mal's pistol is a custom job done by the practical FX company (don't remember their name) Its a cast body with a cheapo Taurus revolver hidden inside. The resemblence to the Rogers & Spencer isn't accidental, since Whedon wanted Mal's pistol to resemble a civil war handgun.

I'll have you know that my local Best Buy just got an assload of Luke ROTJ FX sabers in. The problem is coming up with the $140 to buy one.

Funny thing....considering which decade the movie takes place in.
