New Robotech Shadow Chronicles Vid

It's best to just use your imagination on this one, folks. I can guarantee you that whatever you dream up will still be miles better than what was actually contained in the novel. -

Depends on whether they follow the books or the movies for future inspiration. In the novels, it was actually the Russian counterintelligence directorate SMERSH who eventually kill Le Chiffre. And given the recent real-world events implicating Russian spies and assassins, suddenly Russians as baddies would seem to be in vogue again.

Bond had "continuity" only in the loosest sense. Considering that he was originally a veteran of naval intelligence in the SECOND WORLD WAR, it's remarkable how he never aged, even in your precious 1970's. Only the early films had any sense of connection to one another, with the ongoing SPECTRE plot. Once Bond blew up that oil platform at the end of Diamonds Are Forever, even that was gone. From then on it was a loosely connected series of films involving the same character. Sure there was a nod here and there, like when a writer decided to point out that Bond was lonely deep down by making some reference to Tracy. But beyond that....? Casino Royale is a complete "reboot" of the franchise anyway, so this talk of continuty is moot.

The Worst Anime You've Watched Recently

I thought Innocent Venus was a colossal waste of time. I also watched 1/2 an episode of some new show, named something like Hitman Reborn, and never finished it. -
See, too many people fall into this trap of wanting to like characters, almost as if they were going to hang out for beers & pool. Is it not possible to have a decently written and acted main character that you don't like as a person? Look at a film like DePalma's Scarface, for example. Tony is completely and utterly without any redeeming qualities, yet we're able to watch him for nearly 3 hours.

The caricaturized McFarlane version of Venom would look really out of place in the world Rami has created in the Spidey movies. Just like every other character that he drew.

Speaking of which, craignotbond.com seems to have quietly disappeared. I'm guessing they're eating a lot of crow this week.
-
What in the name of god did you say, or do, to deserve that handle?
-
No, that would have been "Did Guld rape Isamu?"
-
X2 I think they're related to the fans who somehow believe that Gundam 0080 isn't a good story because it doesn't feature newtypes and/or has no real impact on the One Year War. And as crazy as it sounds, believe me when I say that they're out there.
-
No, really. - An AI killbot-controlled Ghost is still a far cry from your primadonna Basara nancing about in his pretty airplane. If Sharon had performed some of her patented musical hypnosis while controlling the Ghost you'd have a leg to stand on. But she didn't. - Even the homeless guy standing outside of the bus station knows that the big-ass bird represents Isamu's obsession with flight. And when I threw some pennies at his head, he blurted out that comparing Isamu to Basara is just retarded.
-
That's a stretch, even for you.

I saw Casino Royale on Saturday night and it blew me away! As I had predicted, there was a lot of action added that wasn't in the book, but I was amazed at how close most of the middle act was to the novel. It wasn't word for word, mind you, since the novel devoted a lot of space to describing Bond's meals, or the ins and out of bacarat (no poker in the book, naturally). But the added opening acts in no way felt tacked on, and to the writers credit they managed to make them fit seamlessly into the original story. -still more spoiler talk- In regards to Vesper's death, it definitely plays out differently than the novel. Her and Bond vacation together, and she falls for him. As in the film, she'd had a lover who had been abducted, resulting in her blackmail. When she notices a SMERSH agent trailing her and Bond, she realizes that there is no escaping. She grows increasingly remote and distances herself from Bond before she finally kills herself. She leaves a note explaining her treachery for Bond and he calls London to inform M, including the phrase "The batty is dead now." but that was the end of it all. There was no money, no shootout in the sinking building, and no Mr White epilogue. In the film, her eventual suicide seems more like a spur of the moment decision, once she's been caught in the act by Bond. It cheapens her character a bit, but ultimately I feel it serves the same purpose as it did in the novel. In both versions, Bond is deeply hurt by the betrayal, outweighing his personal feelings for Vesper, and he finishes the story with a resolve to hunt down and destroy whatever organization was behind it all. This becomes his arc for the remainder of the Flemming novels, and I assume it will become the story for the next Craig movies.
-
Well JsARC, I havent seen the film just yet, but in the novel -spoiler answer-when Bond & Vesper are recuperating from the preceding events, she slips into depression because of the guilt she carries about her involvement, and eventually commits suicide. I'm assuming what you describe is the movie's way of making it a bit more action packed.

It doesn't fall apart because it's based on my opinion. And IN my opinion, Nintendo has been a disappointment since the waning days of the N64. Now your mileage may vary, but for me it's been a decade since Nintendo has had anything to offer. Maybe you'll be right about the Wii. Hell, I'm no psychic. Maybe Wii will offer the most intense, exciting and xtreeeeeeme gaming experience since evar! Maybe you look at this nunchuck controller thingy and see an innovative, interactive interface. Personally, I see another gimmick along the lines of the Virtual Boy.
-
Nintendo has relied for far too long countless iterations of the same old kid friendly franchises, at the expense of having even a moderate sized game library. I nearly bought a Gamecube a few years ago to play Star Wars: Rogue Whatchamacallit, then realized that it would be the only game I owned on that system. Nintendo is great if you like Zelda, or Metroid, or Mario Anything, but really limited in any other respects. I fully expect Wii will travel the same path. But hey, lookit that funky "nunchuk" controller.
-
Oh sure, you say that now, But when fresh new games like Mario Paint Kart Party XVIII (now featuring Bowser's twin brother, umm...Browser) comes out you'll change your tune quickly enough. Nintendo: Resting on our laurels since 1996.

It turns out I was right on the money. From Wikipedia: Kerberos Panzer Jager, by the way, is a I just stumbled onto this completely by accident, but I figured I'd share with the other Panzer Cop fans on the board.

New trailer: http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/thesimpsonsmovie/trailer/
-
Apparently an UNCUT version of the trailer has leaked onto good ole You Tube. And it does seem to be legit, featuring tons of unseen footage of the principle cast. Oh, and Venom. See it while it lasts.
-
Venom is very conspicuous in his abscence, in this trailer. Eddie Brock is visible in a few brief shots, but no Venom.
