I think it's a safe bet. I think there's a bit of a difference between the *ahem* VF-1R and, say, Max's tail missiles. But just to be safe, maybe somebody should bring this up with His Froatyness the next time there's an opportunity for Q&A.

What about those pics of Smeagol turning into Gollumn that leaked onto the net last spring? Did that sequence make it into TTT:EE? -

I believe it was none other than Ralph McQuarrie, of Star Wars fame.... -
LOTR The Two Towers Extended Edition
bsu legato replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
From what I've heard, this version adresses many of the complaints I'd had about the theatrical Two Towers. Does it really "flow" better as a story now, especially the first hour or so? -
Hey, don't get me wrong. My ire isn't limited to the HG/ADV combine. If Animeigo announced tomorrow that they'd release a new version of their Macross set, I'd be just as mad. In fact, I've put off buying many a DVD because I'd suspected that there'd be a newer, better version at some point, especially when it comes to older films. It's just that in this case, there's so little space between the two releases.

1) Fans were supposedly told there would not be any remastering. Period. 2) These new editions come out how soon after the 1st Edition discs? 3) The "new" footage is a bit much, IMHO. Just more "special edition" crap to grab the fan's cash. HG had better stop milking that cash cow. It's teats are sore and bleeding. <_<

THE NEW GALACTICA VIPER!*SPOILER*
bsu legato replied to Sarensaas's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Sorry, but it's still the original Viper for me. If they were going to redesign it, they should have started from scratch instead of "modernizing" the original design. The new one's OK, but not as good as the original. What do the Cylon Raiders look like now? Or the Cylons themselves? -
Is it true that Sci Fi is turning into more of a "New Age" channel? You know, with programs like "Touched by an Alien" and other such crapola?
-
Well, in it's defense it wasn't supposed to be an ending, but a season cliffhanger. Farscape was cancelled literally on the last day of shooting for season 4.
-
Just think of the restored/reinserted footage as the DVD equivalent of the infamous MPC diecast. Missing on the initial release, but included for later versions.
-
Yeah they'll probably just splice some or all of the violent/nudity footage back into Robotech, and call it a "Special Edition Director's Cut." Then they'll interview Carl Macek, and he'll ramble on about how crappy the original Japanese versions were and how he "saved" them in his incarnation. Then, all of the Robotechies will cream their jeans and say "Wow! This is how Robotech should have been all along." Seriously though, I wonder about the Macross portion of Robotech. Will they *ahem* borrow the restored footage from Animeigo, or will they re-restore it themselves?
-
Hmmm...I wonder if they'll finally give some story/design credit to Studio Nue and Artland? Nahhh.
-
I'd just like to send out a big "LOL" to all those who bought the 1st Ed. release from ADV.
-
Yeah! And he'll drink it out of Nora's hollowed out skull, too! Anyway, the cover is a little ho-hum, but who really cares. I'm buying this for the content, not the cover. Besides, flashy jumbled & crowded cover art is sooooo overdone. I like the M:Zero covers because they're simple.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time

It....it had Bruce Campbell in it. That's gotta count for something, right? -
My feelings exactly, but consider this: and Wouldn't it be sweet revenge if Henson & Co themselves said "Frell you" to Sci Fi?

Ahh yes, The Incredible Melting Man. A truly horrid pile of crap, as I recall. :puke: As for those of you posting movies from the last 5 years or so, you really need to see more movies. The Postman and Battlefield Earth may have been awful films, but there are far, far worse things out there. -
http://www.darkhorizons.com/news03/031119c.php So we get a 4-hour miniseries to wrap it all up. I should be thrilled, but can they really tie up all of the loose ends in just 4 hours? Or will they just tackle some of the main issues, and leave the rest for possible future spinoffs? Perhaps that animated series they'd suggested as a possibility will fill in the blanks, sort of a Farscape "Animatrix."

I'd have to go with "Star Odyssey," a cheapo Italian Star Wars ripoff from the late 70's/early 80's. It's not only guilty of being a bad low budget film, it's downright nonsensical. It's like some insane producer took a bunch of SW ideas, threw in some of his own crap, and tossed it all in a blender. Thankfully it has NOT shown up on DVD yet, but there are still VHS tapes in print. Beware. -

Ouch! Again, ouch! It seems that Colt joke have become to you as Duke Nukem Forever jokes are to me. It looks like they were too good to be true after all. I now add my voice to the chorus telling you to buy a real H&K. Specifically, one of the G3's with the early style pistol grips and handguards. Speaking of knockoffs, JsARC, remind me to PM you a couple of links I've found. You'd be very surprised at what some of my fellow canucks have to say about the batch of Norinco M-305's that showed up in Canada this summer. I sure as heck was. -

Hey, that's a damn good price! I was just going to go to Best Buy, but now I may have to look around for one of Winnipeg's few Visions locations. -

Interesting. I followed their link from the auction to their website, but I couldn't find out anything more about these "new" receivers. There seems to be one or two different makes they carry, and for some reason the name "Century Arms" rings a bell in my head. Hmmmm.... But at less than $400, that CETME version of the G3 would be pretty tough to turn down. -

Marksmanship is dead. At least, as far as most western armies are concerned, anyhow. -

I bring you greetings from theWorld of Tomorrow! http://www.thermaldynamics.com/pictures/xm8.jpg Mould it in "brown bess," add a grenade launcher and it's practically an M41A pulse rifle. Well, in spirit anyhow.
