LOL! Sit in your crimson prison, AgentONE. Perhaps someday Crom will grant you the wisdom to escape its red walls.

More HGUC goodness for Gundam 0080
bsu legato replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
HLJ has the Guncannon in stock, and here's the pictures of it (ok, so what if one is a duplicate of the one Jolly Rogers posted?) -
Freedom! Horrible freedom!

New Innocence: Ghost in the Shell preview
bsu legato replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Oh come now, after the tedium of Man Machine Interface even Oshii's drawn out introspection seems exciting. And now with 30% less fanservice! -
I honestly don't even see a difference between the two characters anymore. As far as I'm concerned, Rei is just Shinji when he's all growed up.

Can someone point me to a camouflage website
bsu legato replied to Montarvillois's topic in The Workshop!
You could always try http://www.missing-lynx.com for tons of AFV reference. Personally, i'd love to see some mecha done up in a german "ambush" scheme. -
Is it absolutely necessary to primer resin kits?
bsu legato replied to Grayson72's topic in The Workshop!
I would. The last resin kit I built, I first sprayed with some automotive primer and had no problems. Just make sure you scrub those parts off before you even think of painting. Most, if not all resin kits will have mold release agent all over the parts. -
The next Top Gun of anime? No, Yukikaze is more like the Iron Eagle 3 of anime. Seriously though, Yukikaze is the quintesential case of style over substance. Nice looking aircraft, though.

Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
bsu legato replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I think you're right, EXO. Heck, Glane is still a member here so why don't we just ask him? http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showuser=168 -

I remember that topic too, but did he actually say that he got in trouble? -
The WWE and Pro-Wrestling Thread
bsu legato replied to areaseven's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I had to reread those results twice. The WWE actually had the balls to let Guerrero win the title? Good lord what's next, interesting televised events? But I agree with A7. When HHH retains his title (again) at Wrestlemania, the WWE universe will implode like a black hole. That is if fans don't lynch Vince McMahon and Triple H first. -
Yeah, WTF was with those anyhow? Am I supposed to file them away or something?

New Innocence: Ghost in the Shell preview
bsu legato replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't believe that there is one particular continuity for GitS. The original manga and Man Machine Interface are loosely connected, as are the original film and Innocence. But I don't think that any of them are intended to connect together to form one cohesive timeline. But if you wanted to get nitpickety, you'd have: Continuity 1 - Ghost in the Shell manga, Man Machine Interface manga Continuity 2 - Ghost in the Shell anime, Innocence: Ghost in the Shell 2 anime Continuity 3 - Stand Alone Complex (possibly related to either of the other 2?) -
http://ffmovies.ign.com/filmforce/video/gi...r_ja_qt_480.mov All I can say is "wow." I wasn't a huge fan of the first film, but I'm seeing this one for the animation alone! Production IG are gods among animators these days. Just look at how fluid the CG backgrounds are as Batou walks through the convenience store. Absolutely jaw-dropping.

Great job, B-52 Gunner. I just have a slight nitpick about the Viper, though. Why is it so clean? The studio models were so weathered that they made the X-Wings look like they'd just rolled out of the paint booth.
-
Hmmm...not too shabby. You are picking this one up, aren't you Cyc?

Given a choice, I'd watch the OVA. It features more action, more characterisation, more....everything. And in spite of what some people say, the added footage in the movie version isn't all important. While some of it fills in some gaps (particularly around the ending) other segments are pretty pointless. For example, the added shot of Isamu landing the YF-19 battroid after his aerobatic joyride. Did this really need clarification? Were there viewers who were confused by the OVA version? Did they just assume that Isamu continued free-falling through the core of the planet and back into space?

I think AMT may have recently reissued the old kits from the 80's.
-
That $80 price tag may be partly our fault. Before you grab the torches and pitchforks, let me explain. Back when HG and Toynami were planning the MPC line, it was clear that we were gladly spending $80 and more on import Valks. I'm sure that was part of the decision to price the MPC line like they did. By whatever twisted "logic" they used, it's been long since decided that any MPC will meet the $80 price point, regardless of what the actual toy is. Heck, Toynami could produce an MPC Petite Cola machine in 1/55 and it would still retail for $80.

Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
bsu legato replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'd just like to point out that this statement in itself really doesn't mean anything, given HG's track record. They've maintained all along that All Your Macross Are Belong to Them, so these DYRL toys may be no different. Heck, by their logic they could produce Macross Zero toys next week, and they would be "properly licensed" because HG already owned the Macross license. Or so they'd have us believe, anyhow. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
bsu legato replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, I can really see that happening. Besides the fact that to do so would go against HG's beliefs that they already own any and all international rights to Macross, Harmony Gold and Big West don't exaclty want to work together. They're like the Hatfields and McCoys of international business. -
Harmony Gold & Toynami releasing DYRL? Toys
bsu legato replied to Duke Togo's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Don't give them too much credit. Remember, this is the company that added an led to the head of the MPC. This is the same company that didn't care about the unique shoulder of the Dark Legioss (at least, in its superposeable incarnation). So what if the DYRL valk have different forearm armor? Toynami'd just pass it off by saying... "We didn't think it was a big enough deal to change the moulds" or... "We liked the way it looks with the TV armor better." or most likely... "We never noticed the difference. Buy more toys." -
Don't kid yourselves. These will sell out. Unlike the VF-1 MPC's, there are no alternatives like the Bandai reissues or the Yamatos. As far as the Alpha/Legioss is concerned, Toynami is the only game in town.
-
Now that makes me feel a lot better. Now if we could only convince them to put 4-6 episodes on each disc...

I always knew that Barbie was a no good, two-timing skank. Ken's better off without that dirty ho, in my opinion.
