  1. Well, to further derail my own thread (hey, if I can't do it, why should I let you?) I'd have to say that if SWG had been around 10 years ago I would have thought it was the best thing since oxygen. But since my rpg days are long behind me, the thought of playing SWG is just tedious to me. I think part of it is the amount of work necessary to get anywhere with your character. Scraping out a living as a moisture farmer or a basket weaver is not my idea of fun, but I suppose that's the price you pay for having a player-based economy. However, the Jump To Lightspeed expansion is much more what I would have wanted to play.
  2. *sniffle* God bless America...
  3. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. Who cares about Lana Lang? She makes me forget my own name!
  4. That's why God invented Charisma Carpenter.
  5. Yeah, I've seen that... A little strange if you ask me. Strange? Strange you say? What's strange about lyrics like these: Absolutely brilliant if you ask me. I nearly shed a tear when I read that.
  6. So if AgentONE had a band all this time, why hasn't he mentioned it earlier? Confused? Visit ArnoCorps and all will be clear.
  7. Meh. Commando is where it's at.
  8. IGN has a new hands-on preview of ENDOR.
  9. I agree. At this point we pretty much know the rest of the story, at least as it was laid out by Reese in the first movie. It could all be neatly tied up with just one more film. Anything more just reeks of them padding out the franchise for another film.
  10. What if he just executive produced it? He still has a talent for picking the right people for projects like this. Look at how well Band Of Brothers turned out.
  11. No, at this point it's more like a namedrop by Jesus.
  12. If I had my choice of production companies to produce the Foundation movies, Dreamworks would be at the top of the list. But Foundation itself....I don't know how well it would translate to film. The entire first book is just a collection of short stories, some of which are about 10 pages long. From the second book on you do get characters and situations that carry on for the duration of the book, but you need to get over that initial hurdle. I'm not saying that it can't be done, but it will take some clever writing.
  13. Yet another trailer has shown up, this time with %50 less nu metal. Check out the fanboy wet dream Here.
  14. lol! We caught that too! I wonder if that was a case of the animators not quite grasping what Playgirl is, or if was intentional.
  15. Actually, wasn't the whole time travel gimmick supposed to be part of the plot for Robotech III: the Odyssey*? * typical Macek, huh? He figured he'd compare Robotech to Homer!
  16. Ok, after taking the usual shot at the M16/M4 in the "Army BDU" thread, I posted a picture of Canada's new C7A2 rifle. While I've never had to hump one over a mountain, I've never found the standard configuration AR-15 to be "too big" for my 6'2" frame. However, enough soldiers have complained over the years and we have the M4 and C8 as an answer to that. But is this really the best answer? When our troops go to a place like Afghanistan, suddenly they see a need for longer reaching cartridge. A longer reach that the M4/C8 can't seem to provide. So how about this: The C7A2 gives you the standard (20 inch?) barrel of the M16/C7 but with the telescoping stock of the carbine. Has this never been tried before? It only makes sense to me, considering how the European armories have been using this approach for decades. Ideally, I think its high time the AR-15 design was retired, along with its poodle gun cartridge. But until that day....
  17. I thought I was using the shorter form, like how you shorten your friend "Jason" to "Jay." I guess we're not friends anymore... *sniff*
  18. Yeesh, thank god for DVD then! Come to think of it, that old Dominion OVA had pretty painful dubbing too. I remember seeing some of it on TV years ago, and as much as I loved the original Dominion manga, I couldn't sit through more than two episodes of the OVA. All because of the damn dubbing.
  19. That's it, EXO!! I'M CALLING YOU OUT!! You good for nothing PVC apologist. And don't you go dragging Bob, Todd and Gilbert into this, cuz they won't save your ass. So, seeing as I've got 2 weeks vacation time, I'm comming over to your house and we're gonna...uhhh....fight and....stuff. Yeah.
  20. Yeah, I figured his canteen(s) would probably be behind his back, but I hate to assume seemingly obvious stuff like that. Call it the bitter lesson I've learned from dealing with salespeople. As for his *ahem* rifle, it may be standard issue, but JsARC asked what he'd wish he had. Personally, as I stand 6'2" I never thought the regular AR-15/M16 was too awkward, but then again I've never had to hump one up a hill or in and out of an APC. But I've always wondered why the US has never tried a configuration like the new C7A2. Diemaco has only started producing this rifle, but I've imagined something like it for years.
  21. A canteen? A better rifle?
  22. Is the dub really that bad? I don't think I've ever seen the OVA dubbed.
  23. Yeah, it was a neat series, far better than robocop 3. Do a search on amazon, you'll find them there. Sweet! They're all there, and they're around $16 bucks each!
  24. So maybe I'm just nuts, but I've had this urge to rewatch the old Appleseed OVA from the late 80's. Sure it glosses over nearly everything that gave Appleseed its depth, but it did have landmates and spider gunplatforms. Do any of you guys have any love for this old anime?
  25. LOL! "Don't let go, John." *terminators weight pulls both of them underwater* Seriously though, the big problem with their master plan is Cameron himself. He's had over 10 years, and if he really wanted to do another Terminator movie I think he already would have. And the last I'd heard, he was finally doing his big "Battle Angel Alita" movie, so it would be at least five years before he got around to starting T4 or T5.
