7 of 9 can kick her ass :-P I love them both.

Everyone buys toys as collectors?
-
I've never seen the original show. Was the acting that bad as well?
-
What kind of customs? All my modifications to my models were done with tools which, together, cost about 50 bucks. Of course, that's not counting the airbrush and compressor, since it's not crucial to just customs work but to modelling in general. Most expensive toy I've ever bought? GFF Ex-S Gundam TFA colors at 33 bucks, thanks to Valkyrie-Exchange. Yes, I realize that's nothing compared to most of you guys, but I don't think I can stress enough how I'm not interested in toys. Models are something else altogether, and I paid 150 dollars for a PG Gundam, and another 40 for the custom set so my Gundam can wield twin bazookas. Compared to many, though, that's but a drop in the bucket, since there are Gundam resins that sell for as much as 1700 dollars.

Good heavens, that has got to be some of the shittiest acting I've ever seen. Sailor Moon Live Action takes the cake, but that comes a close second. Props to them for trying, though.

Hold "Shift" when you click on a link. It'll then open a framed page into a new window, and you can copy and paste the link from the Address field. Or you can right click the link, select "Properties", and highlight, copy and paste the link there.

UC Gundam equivilent of Macross World?
Stamen0083 replied to Salty Pete's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I beg to differ. I'm a huge Gundam fan, far more so than Macross, and my biggest distaste with Gundam fandom is precisely what you described. (Coincidentally, those you described mostly fall into the AU crowd.) We're not all alike. I'm interested in Gundam and Macross for the mecha designs. Gundam has nice mechanical designs (especially Katoki), while Macross has plenty of nice fighter designs. Doesn't Macross fandom also have "the other crowd"? If I recall, they're called Robotech fans? Macross and Gundam have common elements that appeal to both crowds. I'd be surprised if there's a Gundam fan who despises Macross, and vice versa. -
Oh! So that's the one being talked about here! I hear "VF-19" and I think "Macross 7." I completely forgot about this one. I dreaded the Macross 7 VF-19's, but these are perfectly fine.

GU-11 ammo/magazines/clips

I stand corrected. Roughly 40 mm it is, then. -
No, it doesn't. Compare VF-19 to YF-19. There are considerable differences, especially towards the rear.

Another video game to be made into a flick
Stamen0083 replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Who produced Pirates of the Caribbeans? I thought that movie was very entertaining, Kiera Knightley (who is a hot young actress who is actually *younger* than I am. Boy, do I feel old.) notwithstanding. -

400 rounds, if I recall. The size of the muzzle is not indicative of the size of the shell being fired. The part that exits the muzzle is a small part of the bullet. Most of it is powder and casing, which is ejected. Case in point, the A-10's 30 mm rounds are actually the size of a milk bottle before firing, which is, what, 60 mm? -
No reason not to release the code, and I'm trying to talk you into doing so. What more do you really need? ;-) Hmm... Do a YF-19. I don't particularly like the VF-19. FAST packs and missiles would be really cool. I think the weapons system needs an overhaul. I don't really like the way it's set up right now. A bit too simplistic... Hmm.... If I have the souce code, I can tweak the game to my heart's content ;-)

That's some screwy math... 200 rounds per minute rate of fire empties a 200 round clip in 10 seconds? Temporal anomaly? -
Sometimes, the lazy ones are the more sensible ones :-P Thanks for taking my advice, WM. The seat looks so much nicer than before :-D And I'm glad I'm able to see buildups before I build my own. Now I'll know to cut clear plastic for the HUD instead of using the kit supplied piece.
-
Which has a larger RCS: missiles, or the F-16? That's my point.
-
I gotta ask, relatively, how much stealth would be sacrificed when the outboard pylon is loaded on? With the external stores, the only most likely points to reflect radar would be the pylons. Everywhere else would remain stealthy, would it not? The F-16 doesn't have that luxury ever, so how exactly is the F-16 having the edge? I mean, sure, the RCS of the JSF would be greater with external stores than without, but is it so much bigger that its RCS is comparable to F-16?
-
Wonderful work. I had severe doubts earlier when you mentioned that you won't be painting the helmet, but instead will use the white of the plastic. I don't anymore. There's something to be said about the minus molds you placed on the sides of the seat. In the illustration you showed earlier in the thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/uploads/po...-1077953813.jpg You can clearly see the orange mold on the side of Shin's seat. It's sunken in. I wonder if it might have been a better idea if you bored a sink hole into the seat bigger than the minus mold, then glue the minus mold into the sink hole, it would have achieved a better effect. As is, the molds look quite out of place. Also, I wonder if a smaller mold might have been a better choice? Aside from that, the cockpit is beautiful, and the added details behind the seat add quite a bit to the barren area. Using a paperclip to hinge the cockpit is also ingenious as well. By the way, since I'm new here, I don't know you from atom, but were you ever planning for custom paint schemes, or do you only paint in anime accurate colors? I think a VF-0S in low visibility scheme would kick some ass!

The fighter planes were unproven then. They're proven now. Do you think the admirals will feel the same way today that they did in the 20's/30's? The internal gun is a proven weapon. It was taken out once and it was proven disastrous. What sense is there to do it again?
-
So can I guess about 2 feet across?
-
Definitely. Hmm... how wide *would* a gunpod be?
-
Why not? It's not like the weapons bay doors open back to back. I think you should give the aircraft engineers more credit than that. We're not all stupid :-P There's probably a wide clearance between the doors, enough to carry the pods. I'm thinking of something like how the centerline tank on the F/A-18 Hornet is mounted relative to the main gear door. The doors open just fine with the tank wedged pretty much in between there.
-
Indeed, it wouldn't. I think it's safe to assume that given how advanced the SV-51 is, The lift fans we see there are driven by dedicated engines. It doesn't need the space inside it for internal weapons bays, right?
-
Indeed. No need. Mine was far less than courteous, but I've found that establishing a firm voice is the best way to not let people walk all over you.
