What are your favorite space battles?
Stamen0083 replied to UN Spacy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Gundam Evolve 4: Rx-78GP03S/D vs. a fleet of Gelgoog Marines. And made short work of them. Of course, I don't need to mention the battles in Macross Zero, right? -
Perhaps this page can be of help. Towards the middle of the page, he offers some tips on how to line up pins properly: http://s89202096.onlinehome.us/resintut/assembly.htm

Actually, it's not all that limited. Char's Rick Dom is a full fledged model now. Which is complete and utter garbage, but as far as I'm concerned, anything involving that genocidal psychopath is utter garbage.

I paid 150 for mine at the local anime store, just a couple weeks ago.... Indeed. 155 + shipping is hardly a saving for this kit.

Old models are the bane of newbie modellers. I highly, highly recommend a Hasegawa VF-1. It may seem complicated and scary, but it's not, at all. It may seem a bit expensive, but the final result is well worth it. No one expects a wm_cheng model from a first timer, so even if you don't build the model well enough, you're sure to learn some techniques that can be applied to the next model.

If the LED doesn't light up, switch the leads. LED's permit current flow in one direction only. As for resistor... that's not necessary for a watch battery, as those things don't put out nearly enough current to burn out LED's, and since LED's emit light and no heat, there's no worries about burning your plastic, even if your LED's do draw too much current. The wonders of semiconductors :-D

You also have to be familiar with Azumanga Daioh to appreciate the humor. I love this stuff so much! I especially love the bonklers as the Black Tri-Stars. EDIT: Actually, I can't really decide between the Black Tri-Bonklers or the Zakurello Osaka...
-
Crank the flash up and shoot the burners, William! :-D
-
:chuckles: That's the one. Is it the only one, though? I remember seeing more. That picture is all over the place.

Hey guys, Azumanga Daioh is a hilarious series, and once upon a time, I ran across some Mobile Student pictures where Osaka posed as various Mobile SUIT's. I'm looking for those pictures now, and I wonder if anyone here knows anything about it. Thanks much.

If given the option, gears down, canopy up, nose cone open, speed brakes deployed, and afterburners on frickin' full blast!

Turner's Superman looks vicious. I get the feeling that he can kick some serious ass. Lee's version isn't without its charms. I can't get used to Ross's Superman though. I've never been a big fan of the "realistic look for the fantasy" type.

I may be able to match you point for point when it comes to construction, but I can never hope to achieve such a flawless finish. At least not yet. You are, indeed, the master. It is quite the honor that you listen to what we have to say. Bravo :-D

The "Vero" part was so obvious, the "nica" should have come to us immediately :-P
-
Oh my GOD! A girl!! I don't know how to act! I don't know what to do! What do I do? What do I do!? :-P http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~stamen0083/Instructions/ VF-0S instruction scans. Enjoy, folks.
-
It should be in the "real" plane, but it's not in the model. The Super/Strike Valks come with a different part in the Super/Strike trees specifically to replace that part. If I recall, there's a bar or something at the bottom so that it is propped up and you don't have to do guess work. Either way, it was surprising to me too when I saw the instructions. Yeap, on Monday, and I left you a glowing review in the SS list :-D It's true that you haven't even touched the thing. The top of the box was still dusty. I just wonder about the scotch tape though... I swear GFF tape is clear, not translucent... Either way, it doesn't matter. It now accompanies my GFF Ex-S Gundam Valkyrie-Exchange has so graciously sold me at a considerable saving on my wall.

I can't really tell about the plastic, but the VF-1 Super/Strike Valkyries have that particular piece set lower than the normals, since the backpack need the space. I've always wondered myself why that area needed to be separate. Turns out that Hasegawa had the Super/Strike Valks in mind when they released the normals.

E., those are FG's. The diorama was a contestant in DHM's FG contest in 2000.

It might not necessarily be a waste of time. The three MSG compilation movies had a considerable chunk of new animation. Heaven knows how much we'll get to see in Zeta. Besides, I welcome this movie compilation. I dread long series, and the three MSG movies were the welcome change I wanted. As much as I would like to see Zeta in all its full glory, I'd rather watch three compilation movies with new footage than watch 49 episodes of crappy fansubs or cheap Hong Kong bootlegs.

Tutorial or not, bickering won't help him. Well, even without bickering, it still won't help him. The VF-0S never had its instructions scanned. Someone else here will have to do it.
-
Ah. Well, if that were the case, then these are damn good deals. I'm getting me a MG GP02.
-
Where?
-
I think that was in F-91, but it's been a long time since I've seen either, so I might be wrong.

Gundam FIX Figuration (abbreviated GFF) is a line of expensive action figures. It's supposedly based on Katoki's linearts, but more often than not, they stray far from his original vision. In anycase, their quality is better than MSiA, they are made of better materials, and their packaging is much nicer (not to say that MSiA packaging is crap. MSiA packaging is still better than most). Display pieces, you could say. HG kits are model kits. Since it's Bandai, think of them as unassembled action figures. Molded in colors with stickers (!), just snip the parts off and snap them to each other. MG kits are more complicated HG kits. There are more gimmicks than your standard action figures, such as internal frames. These come with dry transfer markings as well as stickers, and many, many parts. Sometimes too many. Absolutely not. If you have assembled toys before, you'll be fine. The instruction manual is very straight forward. Like I said, cut and snap.
-
Ack. You're probably one of them. I can't really say I recommend the GM Custom kit. It's an old kit, and the quality shows. It's not entirely well detailed or accurate either. After seeing the BEE-Craft lineart in the manual, I promise you will want to chuck the kit's internal frame out the window. Get the MG Aile Strike instead, if you don't mind the design. As far as a representation of the GM Custom goes, the MSiA would be better.
