Excuse my asking... especially if this is a newbie question but what exactly is pachino?

Wow, Sega just keeps fading. I remember the days when the Genesis was number one in the console market. Then they ditched the console business since they couldn't compete with Sony and Nintendo and how they're fading out of the software market too. How the mighty have fallen.

They do seem intent on taking Edgar out. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't survive the series... maybe his entire purpose was to bring Shin the VF-0D to him so Shin could have his little date with Mao

Which is your favorite Star Wars movie?
Winkle replied to Jolly Rogers's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm all for Return of the Jedi, great action and great story, doesn't get much better than that. I really enjoyed Luke kicking everyone's butt as a Jedi Knight for the first time, lots of fun. Empire Strikes Back and A New Hope were both great classics that are unmatched by the new trilogy. And I don't see how Attack of the Clones is worst then Phantom Menace... the only "good" thing about TPM was the short little lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul, that blew me away. But AotC had the huge battle which was spectacular... and Yoda kicking butt!! But then yea, it had that awful "love story"... can't blame Natalie Portman, she's a good actress but her material and director were obviously sub-par. What irks me is that she's a good actress but 95% of the time she's all mono-tone, what the hell is up with that? It's almost like George Lucas TOLD her not to act... sheesh. They need a new director for EPIII if it is to have any hope. -
Haha, sweeeeet. That actually doesn't look all that bad.

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
Winkle replied to Max Jenius's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Some of us can't navigate Plus, I had a GeForce2 MX back then on a crappy comp, that level was chopping up like crazy and I didn't want to turn down the settings. Oh well. I'm hooked onto KotOR right now... it's going to be the death of me... I blame it if I fail all my exams lol. I was half-way into the game, 24 hours when I decided that my character was too thingy spread out in the feats and skills department so I just restarted yesterday, I'm currently on Dantooine again. Stupid addictive game! My favourite character by far... HK47! "I hate all meatbags, except for the master of course." GOLD! -
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I made it out of that level without cheating or reading any guides, but it costs me like a couple of hours searching every single bloody corner of the map to find a way out. They place the path in the most impossible to find places, it was a nightmare I tell you. That was undoubtably the worst level in JKII. -
Hrm... I'm not sure about that. I remember Roy's VF-0 tracking and locking onto that SV-51 he shot down at the end of Ep1. I have a feeling that the Zeros can pick up the SV-51s but I doubt they have a Cyclops radar. My guess would be that D.D.'s SV-51 had a special radar fitted onto it just specifically for that mission. As for the armoured Zero being cell-animed, my guess is that it was too difficult to render it in CG. Probably just for that one sequence where it opens up its missile bays and lets loose, they would've been pretty hard to do so they decided to stick with cell-animation for that. And I don't think there's anything wrong with the cell-animation, the quality is fine but I think that watching Mac0 has gotten (or spoiled us) us used to seeing the valks in high-quality CG animation and anything else just looks ugly now by comparison.

I thought the quality was excellent, the picture quality was fine, never pixelated for me once, great resolution for watching on my desktop. The sound was great too, absolutely not problems with that. Just the ocassional odd translation or there but that's expected. Overall the best fansub I have seen released in such a quick time. Great work Spykes and Infusion, keep it up. And many thanks for the quality fansub.

No surprise, I think that's been known for some time. The VF-0 is nothing more then a VF-1 with a conventional engine instead of a thermonuclear powerplant. The Zero was a prototype platform to test the technology for VF-1 but the thermonuclear engine never made it in time so they slapped on a regular engine instead.

Don't think it was a fair fight. The octos were submerged for most of the fight, only popping their cannons/guns out of the water to take shots at the Cheyennes. The Cheyennes had a tougher time trying to hit their underwater targets, and judging by their weapons I don't think they had the same range as the octos, their cannons seemed to be more suitable for long-ranged combat.

I watched that scene again and I'm positive that it is D.D. who pulls that off and not Nora. If you watch, you see D.D. go under the deck, and telling Nora to get into "Formation D", and you see a SV-51 (presemably Nora's) fly around Roy to destract him as D.D. puts his up over the deck to fire at Roy.
-
That's what I think, it's a sea skimming anti-ship missile. Also, you do see Nora and D.D.'s SV-51s carrying and launching 2 sea-skimming anti-ship missiles each, which they target against an Aegis cruiser. Two of the missiles get stopped by the ship's defences, but two get through and take out the Aegis. Graham A little correction. If you watch carefully in the part where the camera is following the 4 missiles in, you will see that 3 of them gets shot down and only 1 reaches its target. The third missile was awfully close though and didn't get blown up until it was almost at the destroyer, hence making it seem like it hit its target. My guess is that it's either a Ghost or a Valk that somehow made it back by itself, and Nora did say "They're behind us?" right when the mystery fighter appeared. Also, I have a new-found love for Destroids. My jaw completely dropped when the "turret" popped open and the Destroid flew out! But then my jaw just fell off when I saw the "rollers" pop out and the Destroid "skating" across the deck! How cool is that? Man, those things were just so nimble. And it is sad to see the Destroid as nothing more then cannon fodder, so much potential. I don't think it had a fair fight against the anti-UN destroids, as the Cheyenne appears to be designed as a point-defense component (it's mini-guns aren't the most accurate thing in the world). But give them credit, they did shoot down all the SV-51s besides D.D. and Nora.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time
Winkle replied to JELEINEN's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
How has no one mentioned SOLDIER yet? Well I guess it was so terrible that no one even saw it. Worst film ever, the entire movie made no sense whatsoever, and somehow Kurt Russell was paid like $20 mil for a movie where he speaks a grant total of THREE lines (I'm not exaggerating folks). The popcorn that I ate during the movie was a trillion times better! -
All I can say is... SWEEEEEEEEET.

Hrm... what the RIAA is doing only makes me want to download even more MP3s just to spite them. Honestly, they are waging a war they cannot hope to win. Granted, they will be able scary off the casual internet user from downloading mp3s in the future, but the real hardcore junkies (nerds/geeks) won't be intimidated by the RIAA's scare tactics. So they're going after individuals now, well that will only motivate the programmers out there to redouble their efforts to hide from the RIAA, there are already a number of programs out there that will protect your computer from RIAA informats. Also, they killed Napster a few years ago, well that accomplished about... nothing. The death of Napster gave rise to KaZaa. Now they are going after KaZaa (everyone slapped with a lawsuit so far uses KaZaa). Great, they're going to kill KaZaa... only to have another improved P2P program take its place. The RIAA will go after that and kill it only to give birth to YET another P2P program. Its an unending cycle, as long as people want stuff for free (and they always will), piracy will continue to exist. The RIAA is doing this the idiotic way, if they want to kill this "problem", they need to embrace it, fighting it only strengthens piracy. As an example, I believe it was a year or so ago that the RIAA announced the development of a new protection code which they would implement in all future music CDs. They said this code was supposingly "uncrackable" and will kill music piracy completely. It took 2 weeks before a university professor cracked the code and released the method on the net. The RIAA then moved to try and legally force the professor to remove his findings from the internet but the courts ruled in his favour. If they continue on their current path, the RIAA will loose.

If they were going to rip EVA off, they may as well have made it look better. That "Sentinal" just hurts my retinas.
