I prefer the second one, but the nose and cockpit area just don't seem to fit. I'd change it to a round nose and canopy, like a conventional fighter plane. either that, or graft in one of the cockpit sections from the first design. That blocky flattened canopy and nose just aren't working with the rest of the design. Looking at them again, I kinda like the nose section from the first one, just the rest of the ship looks too small in comparison, and the third segment just kills the design. I'm thinking that the nose section (both cockpits and the stinger) might look pretty good on a scaled up version the seconds one's fuselage. (to preserve the proportions) Just my $.02 worth.

The truly scary thing in all of this is I'd been wishing I had a spare Bany to paint pink. I know a girl on another forum who's favorite color is pink, and she loves Valkyries.

Now, if we could just figure out how to put spinners on them. My guess would be that the empire nixed anything that allowed the troopers to show individuality. Probably wanted the uniforms to look more.... uniform.

WOAHH what's up with the price of this

Could be a prototype for something that E-hobby is looking to release. It would be similar to hteir "Ghost of Starscream" clear Starscream. -
Official Transformers Alternators and more thread.

Way back in the day, when it was fairly common to hinge car doors at the back, they had habit of flying open in crashes. (more so than front hinged doors) As seatbelts weren't even standard equipment yet, this allowed people to be thrown out of the car. Keep in mind this was cars were likely to survive most wrecks with little more than body damage. -
the radar must been far away enough cuz wouldnt it cook the bird? I may be showing my ignorance of modern high powered radars...but since when have radio haves been dangerous enough to cook anything? High powered short wave radio will cook an object. That's how a microwave oven works. Things usually don't stay infront of a RADAR antena long to be cooked. I don't think they're as intense as the inside of a microwave. The team competing against the F-117 new they were screwed anyway, when the F-117 guys showed up with a stealth pole to put the model on.

How many of you own the Takara 20th MP Prime?
Greyryder replied to SupremeKaioshin's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm waiting on the mini masterpiece Prime. The cab looks better than the big one's, and I don't think that the final version is going to have that huge gap above the chassis that the pictures we've seen so far have. The price is a little easier to take, too. I may even get that articualted Starscream, as well. -
You and me both. Damn lousy kids and their grubby little paws. My way of keeping toys from tiny hands: Claymores. ... no wait... must keep telling self that is illegal... Claymore as in big ass sword, or claymore as in land mine?

A few months back on AMC. They played a documentary on Predator, right after the movie. If they ever play it again, I'm going to try to get a screencap of the original suit. It would not have been the same movie with it.

He also complained that he didn't want to be a special effect. The majority of the shooting he did was in a skin tight blue body suit jumping around the trees, so they could do the cloak effect later. I've also seen a picture of the monster suit he wore. The original predator looked like ass. It was insect like, and didn't have any tech on it. Looked like something out of a hokey low budget B movie. Best decision they made was to hire Stan Winston to design a new creature.

Yeah yeah, just wait till the random mutations set in.

do it do it!! I've decided to do it, I've gotten more Zoids. Everytime I look at the MP Prime, I like it less. My biggest problem is that the vehicle mode is a mess. I don't want a Transformer that I never want to transform. Sorry. Didn't mean to poo poo the thread. -
Damn good splice job, but it just looks too much like a dummy being hit. You can just make out the dummy popping into existance on the windshield. My guess would be that the car and dummy was a single continuous shot, with the dummy being painted out, and the guy being painted in from a seperate bit of film.

Guh? Ok, you are officially the second person I know of on planet earth who does NOT like Aliens. Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you very much.

A little too much energon at the bar.

Should be a decent mindless monster movie. I actually enjoy occasionaly watching movies where I can just shut off my brain. I never have very high expectations for any movie based on the Aliens franchise. It's a real shame the Alien franchise only lasted a singe movie. The xenomorph was an inteligent solitary predator that adapted to it's environment, and was capable of learning and patience. Despite what Mr. Cameron may think, it did not run headlong down the hallway with a bunch of it's buddies. It's always fun to watch Predators find new and inventive ways of killing things, though.

Why does this all sound like the product of bad fugu?

The main reason you don't see a lot of wheathering on military aircraft is becasue they are incredibly well maintained. The dirt and grime gets cleaned off before it has a chance to acumulate, and any leaks are fixed ASAP. I know the reference to freight trains was made, and it fits here, too. In the days of steam locomotives, tehe engines (and even some rolling stock) was much cleaner than the diesel electrics of today, despite the heavy black coal smoke they threw into the air. Back then, they cleaned them nearly everytime they came in to the main station. Same goes for planes. (I think even tanks get washed more often than train engines, anymore) I imagine the carrier based planes get cleaned even more often, since corrosion is a much bigger issue for them. Still, the grime certainly looks cool on a model.

I wasn't so worried about Prime's wheel on his hip as I was the loose fit between his cab and frame in truck mode. Either way, Plan to get him, I'm just looking forward to the better larger pictures that will show up in the coming weeks/months. I seriously doubt that these will have the same poor joint problems that plague the Banpresto VFs. If they do, I hope they're as easy to fix as the Banies.
-
I want that Prime. I'm wondering if that picture is either a preproduction model, or improperly transformed. Still, it ain't bad for the price. The big MP Prime looks a wreck in truck mode, for something that costs that much. Might have to get Starscream, too.

Opinion: best sc-fi Capitol ship designs....
Greyryder replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yamato Original Galactica Excalibur from B5 Crusade New Galactica I know there's others, I just can't think of them, right now. I also always liked the B5 Whitestars, and their successors seen in the last episode, but thy're way too small to qualify as capital ships. -

Yeah. What he said.

I've been kinda debating picking one up. My budget for such things is limited, and I'm not at all impressed with the vehicle mode. I'll probably just get more Zoids. -
Opinion: best starfighter designs ever
Greyryder replied to renegadeleader1's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I thought the point of this thread was to list favorite non Macross space born (aerospace is acceptable) fighter craft, regardless of range capabilities. A small one or two person gunship isn't likely to have interstellar capabilities.
