Nope. I don't know why the flash made it look like that. If you're touching up the stripes, I've found that Testors acryl bright blue (their standard shade of blue, that they sell) matches well. For me it was just about perfect, if I used the paint off the top of a bottle whith all the white settled at the bottom.

So, is it wrong that I'd like to have a real version of this? -

I still want one of these. Wonder how hard it would be to mount a cannon, in place of that arm.... -
Thank you. I painted it white. Had to give it a light oil wash, to darken it. Wheeljack is more of an antique white, than a true white.

Had mine for a while, now. Long enough to mod him, anyway.

I still see them, around here. I don't think they get used for long hauls, anymore. I think they get used more for short distances, especially if they'll be in places with limited space. I think they're still comon for yard dogs, but the ones I've seen used for that had a single rear axle, and no sleeper. Makes for a pretty short frame, that's good for yard use.

A 1/48 scale SDF-1 would be a habitable structure.

I had good luck taking the paint off my yellow Skyline with Rubbing alcohol, but I was also trying to take off a coat of Fusion that was refusing to dry. Don't know if the Fusion had anything to do with it, or not. I've got a blue Skyline, with white rally stripes on the hood, and nose. No other exterior mods. Never did get around to buying bearings for it. It's got suspension (yellow front, blue rear) and four wheeldrive. I also did a DIY tight turns mod, with a couple of resistors, and some wire.

For those who want a more G1-esque Alt Wheeljack, Reprolabels is working on it. Check it out, here.

Get Data Back is a good program, but the trial version won't let you save any of the files it finds. I used it on one of my hard drives, when the master boot record went kerblooey.

Can any one tell me how quiet the Silentaire Scorpion compressors are?

Rob Liefeld's Teen Titans

i second that , i used jim lee work as reference years ago when i really started to learn to draw, i really miss his old Wildcats comics. chris I used to use Lee as a refference, too. Him, and Mark Sylvestri are still my favorite comic artists. (Keep in mind that I haven't read a new comic book in at least a decade.) -
That's good to know. I was leaning towards the Iwata, anyway. Thanks for the info. Never had trouble cleaning Future out of my Aztek, with just water.

Rob Liefeld's Teen Titans

It's so bizarre. He's got a nicely polished level of finish work, that I'd love to be able to match, but he makes so many rookie mistakes under it, I don't know how he keeps getting work. I mean, the anatomy in my drawings isn't perfect, but at least I try. I'm so very confused. -
Need some advice. One of the hobby shops I frequent has an Iwata HP-CR for $98. Would you guys recomend this, or should I just order a Badger 155 Anthem set, online? I prefer to buy at brick and mortar stores, but the only place I know to get the Badger, wants over a hundred for just the 155, the Anthem set is about $150. (I've seen it online for closer to $60) I never do fine detail work, like pinstriping. I prefer to mask, to do that.

BinaryFalcon, the Future is a lot less likely to gum up your internal mix airbrushes, than the paint you're already running through them. It tends to be easier to clean out, than the paint, too. Future is really nothing more than a thin acrylic clear coat. Personally, I'm sick of my Aztek. I want a Badger 155.

I got mine at wal mart. In a 50 mile radius, this pounk little town is the only place that's current on Alts, and that's after two months of not having any. Never did see Grimlock.

I use water soluble oil paint for my oil washes. I've used it straight from the bottle, and thinned with water. Works out about the same, either way. It leaves a little patina on the paint, but you should be able to wipe it all the way back with a damp paper towel, or Q-tip. Just don't get it too wet, or it'll wash the oil out of the crevases, where you want it to stay. This was done with an oil wash:

The legs on that proto are backwards. As was said before, the screws shouldn't be showing. I really think they were going for the Sideswipe/Red Alert look on this mold, so the rear deck should be the calves, not the shins. Alt Windcharger's gun barrel is thought to be the work of Honda USA.

That's a custom, done from a Grimlock. I just stripped the paint off his sword, and repainted it. Did the same thing to make his visor green, then put some chrome trim strip behind it, to make it look like an optic strip. For the record, the only colored transparent plastic I've seen in any of the alts, is Dead End's red everything, and Wheeljack's tinted clear parts. What apears to be colored transparent parts on everyone else, is clear plastic, painted with transparent paint. Treatment, the problem is that his neck is kind of oddly placed The ball joint is at the back of his head, so unless his head down all the way (looking forward) he gets the stretched neck look. I always keep that neck block poking up over the hood, because I think it looks odd, without it. Jazz looks better with those repro labels, but they look kind of out of place in Alt mode. I've seen a custom where sombedy put a single blue off center rally stripe, with darker borders on a Jazz. Looked good in both modes.

I'm actually glad that I passed on Meister, and got Shockwave, instead. I can't believe how well the light piping in his eye works. Even in low light, his eye stays clearly visible, but put your finger over the triangle on his head, and the eye just sort of blends in. You can give him a really neat pulsating eye effect. Wheeljack just pwns me.
-
That's pretty much it, for the differences. Wheeljack's windows all apear to be tinted, and they completly blacked out the little side windows, behind the doors. His elbows seem a little tighter, too.

SWEET! Even weathered with real mud.

I would tend to agree....but I know how important it can be for the ship to be "like you remember it" Memories!! My first Viper was made from a piece of carved wood fuselage (from a wooden cloth hook), wood plank for the wings, wood square sticks for the engines and a spare 1/72 Hasegawa Ki-44 canopy. I paint it white with red stripes!! It was no more than 10 cm long. I was dying for a Raider but I couldn't make the right shape... I was 10 or 11 years old... then I was a happy modeler nowadays sometimes I'm so into details that I cannot enjoy the hobby... I used to make Cylon Raiders out of paper plates. Just glue two of them together, and grab the crayons.

Except he's a rear wheel drive race car that could actually make use of the down force. Still might make a duck tail spoiler, for mine. Went into Wal mart tonight, expecting to see the same Alts that were there the last time, (I was surprised enough, when those showed up) and saw Wheeljack. I was so excited, I almost forgot to see if they had Shockwave, before I made off with my prize. Shocky was right next to Wheeljack. I actually find Wheeljack easier to transform. His windshield, and the bar between his shoulder blocks don't peg in as hard as they do on the one Grimmy sample I've gotten ahold of. That alone really makes the transformation easier.
