I wanted to thank everybody who replied. As it was, I got lazy, and freehanded it. I think it turned out pretty good.

Who Honestly Likes The Gerwalk Mode Of Their Vf's?
Greyryder replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
the VF-1's gerwalk is awesome. The VF-2SS isn't bad in gerwalk, wither. I've not seen a VF past the 2SS that I like in any mode, so I can't really comment on those. -
That's a custom. Those toys are from one of the newer sentai series.

There is no way that E-Bulkhead is based on a KA-52. Maybe a KA-50, but he looks more AH-64 inspired to me. Cybertron has given us some great alt modes. Too bad Hotshot looks like he's got one of Doc Brown's inventions on his rear deck. For the most part, the designers for this line have done great job of translating real world vehicles into freelanced probable looking designs, and still giving us good looking playable robots. The line has also given us some of the best sci-fi based alt modes, Transformers has ever had.

How did he get the matrix away from Rodimus?
-
OOH! Thanks! That sounds like a great idea. I've still got most of the package of cardstock I got to make the paper Monster model. I think that's what I'm gonna do.

Man. I gotta have the Dougram. I'm not even familiar with the anime, I just dig the mech design. It's nice and chunky, and utilitarian. I hate mechs that look like they need a sammich.

Thanks guys. I really a softer edge look, so I guess I'll turn the air pressure down, and do practice runs on scrap foam core, to work on my needle and line control.

Actually, I didn't think that the shuttle mode looked that far removed from reality. It's a little shorter, with a smaller tail fin. The front of the train, is supped to be the engine bulges, that the real shuttle has. It's not really any worse than the steam engine cab that G1 Astrotrain had on the back of his shuttle mode. It's a much sleeker looking shuttle, than G1 Astrtrain. (who's feet became hood scoops behind the cockpit) It certainly looks better than the mangled excuse for a COE Kowamori gave us, for a G1 Prime update.

I need some good ideas for painting camo patterns. I'm doing a custom Transformer that turns into an armored personell carrier. (Cyertron Defense Hotshot) The plan is to put down brown camo patterns over an olive drab base. To be clear, I'm looking for good techniques, not links to patterns. I was just going to freehand it with the airbrush, but I'm affraid of screwing it up, that way. I really have no idea, what I'm doing. I'm using Model Master acrylic paints.

Vehicle Voltron Popularity Poll
Greyryder replied to Extra Large Mumma's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just want to see the shows for the unloved three robots Voltron. I saw the toys once, when I was a kid, but they never aired the episodes. -
Anybody Like The Vf-2ss Space Valkyrie 2?
Greyryder replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
It's one of the greatest VFs ever, surpassed only by the original VF-1. You wanna redesign something? Redesign those ugly hunks of scrap, from Mac+. -
Supposedly you can make it matte or satin by adding Tamiya flat base to it. I've never tried that. I usually just spray flat clear over the Future. You could also just add a little bit of Future to your flat clear coat to help increase the flat's durability.
-
That Titiamium Jetfire is a tiny god. I will make sweet love to it, and have its children. Why is everyone looking at me, like that?
-
I used Future to settle decals onto an N scale locomotive. It seemed to work pretty good. Got it down between all the raised door details.
-
Nope. Future is pretty thin, to begin with. I've never had a problem spraying it straight from the bottle.

Anybody Thinks That Sk Needs To Redesign The Vf-1?
Greyryder replied to Phalanx's topic in Movies and TV Series
Leave the VF-1 alone! It's my favorite VF. The VF-2SS is a close second. The VF-0 is okay, but's just a variation on the VF-1. -
Wonder how long before there's an episode, where the Pegasus crew is all spooked from people seeing ghosts of dead COs.

Tamiya Paints: Some Kind Of Cruel Joke On Modelors
Greyryder replied to promethuem5's topic in The Workshop!
This thread is making me glad I use Model Master Paints. Still need to find a good replacement for my old Testors acrylic gun metal, though. Yeah, I've got some old bottles of Testors acryilcs that are still fine, after 10 years. (they still have Pactra labels on them) Some of them only need replaced, because I've used them all. By the same token, some of them have long since dried into a rubbery block in the bottle. I will say, that I was not impressed the one time I used Tamiya paint. Maybe I'm just spoiled by not having to thin my Testors made stuff, to airbrush it. -
The main differences are the canopy and the shapes of the wings. The new canopies are a little more realisticaly shaped. The wings new look sleeker, untill you realize they're thick flat edged slabs, with no better aerodynamics than the originals. There are also a few subtle differences in minor details, and some gentle curves introduced in a few places.

I wanted to do something special for the 10th anniversary of Beast Wars. This probably wasn't it.

*looks* *weeps*

I liked Titan AE. Not spectacular, but certainly entertaining. But yes, rotoscoping died with the original He-Man cartoon.

They seem to have a really weird combination of standard and naval ranking. the rank of comander seems to take the place of naval captain's rank, and got slipped in above colonel. I was really starting to like Tigh, before his wife showed up. He'd climbed out of the bottle, and really seemed to be waking up to strengths. He's been a mess, ever since his wife was found. She irritates the piss out of me anyway, since all she seems to care about her social standing.

I still want to see Bumblebee/Goldbug upgraded to a Lotus Elise. It's a small curvy little car, and the bot mode could still retain a lot of classic Bumblebee elements. (like the feet) They could also sculpt new car parts, and make Cliffjumper an Opel Speedster/Vauxhal VX 220, which would keep the angularity of his original Porsche design. The new Beetles are just too damn big to be Bumblebee.
