I'm just glad to read that they're not making it an outright comedy. That's what keeps killing most of these old TV show adaptations.

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Greyryder replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I just watched 80s B movie The Eliminators last night, for the first time since I was a kid. I'm not sure if it was the worst thing or the best thing, but I enjoyed it far more than I probably should have.- 854 replies

I know I've said this before, but I really wish they'd stop using that textured fabric for superhero costumes. Back in the 90s I bought a BMX bike, that had a similar fabric on the seat. It's all I can think of, when I see these super-suits.

A dreadnought battlestar? Dreadstar? Cool!

Bubbles? My experience with Smooth-On is that the stuff may be carbonated. So many bubbles.... I'm a fan of PolyTek's resins, but Smooth-On does make good mold rubber.

Me either. I like Hasbro's updated Jetfire offerings, but I'm just not feeling the love over these Skyfires.- 9240 replies

I'm from Ohio. That's not that impressive. Our rivers have been known to do that, without the dragon.

I never had any Fabuland, but I've got a few of those red fences. I think they might be some of the stuff I have that dates back to the old figures; the ones based around the 2x2 bust pieces that the heads and arms plugged into. I hope I"m not the only one who remembers those....

Almost Human - New SF TV series for next season.
Greyryder replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I don't know about ones that became more popular afterwards, but they had a slew of genre shows in the 90s that were all cancelled in short order, without getting a chance to find their feet. VR5 was a bit surreal, but it had an interesting back story going. Strange Luck ended on a cliffhanger. Brimstone was just great, lot of fun. The verbal jousting between the lead character and the Devil was some of the best writing this side of Whedon. I think Dark Angel was doing half way decent, when they cancelled it to make room for Firefly. Fringe was doing great, before they moved it to the Friday night kiss of death time slot. Then, they cancelled it, because the ratings dropped.- 36 replies
