The image says it all. (What it says is that I need to do something else on lunch!) EDIT: I typo'ed!!! More like Avengers 2047!
-
the D probably is ALSO used as a trainer- but the mere fact that the one used in the first episode was fully armed says that is not its only role. In the military, all the -D designation means is that it is a Dual seat variant, when the typical or -A variant is a single seat.

Voices, Information High, Seventh Moon, Going the Distance... I know- it isn't a Macross song- but the Anime Music Video for M+ with that song just rocks!!!
-
Oh, that old thing here it is, cleaned up.... I haven't had the chance to add the number circles or text yet....

The Global Hawk is real. They have one hanging from the ceiling at the Wright-Patt AFB USAF Museum. It is ugly as sin, and more of a very dark purple-gray than lavender. On the board beneath, it states that it is capable of 24 hr flight, and traversing the globe. Flies too damn high, it might as well be a sattelite.

Kawamori's "Air Cavalry Chronicals" mecha
daeudi replied to Phyrox's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I found and printed a Full Armor Variant of the Seiran-99 once- very rounded and bulky, and colored green. Unfortunately I lost the link and the file. on the image, it has a "37" where the page number would be... Has anyone else seen this image? If so, know where it is? -
Does anyone know how big the original was? in Inches? Was it printed in black ? on heavy gloss paper like typical posters?
-
FYI it is 2.51 MB, 3950 pixels wide, 2523 pixels high at 144 DPI That is 27.43"x17.5" I plan on blueprinting this!!! Nevermind all that! at 2300x1469 it is close enough! My apologies to the mods for going so close to maximum post size!

I placed DYRLposter.pdf on the imacross 4 server. Here is a 640 pixel wide sample. It is completely cleaned up! EDIT: sorry- noticed that I had accidentally moved the vectors, causing a misalignment. here it is, at 2300 pixels. I can FTP it to anyone, maybe even zip and e-mail, but I do not have a website to post it on.... The full size image is 2.51 Mb, even with it being Grayscale.... SO I can't post it here. And I can't get it on to Imacross 4 anymore... :-((

While those ABSOLUTELY look[/] like ARMD's... based on the published size (Books and Loo) It is physically impossible for them to actually BE ARMD's.... They are WAY too big! Not to mention mounted entirely different.

Have to play Devil's Advocate here... Nanashi- have you considered the possibility that he ALSO owns the book, and a scanner? And again- while rude not to thank you for the scan (assuming he did get it from your site) not only does he only need to give credit to Studio Nue/Big West and the Illustrator- but NEITHER of you should slapping your personal logo on it! It isn't even derivative work, just a translation. But those of us who are unable to find a copy of that book thank you for efforts none the less.

I have always preferred to think that the destroids became upgraded as much as the Valkyries... (Yes, probably looking like AC:3) Consider that if it is not related to the story arc, it wasn't put in. Also- remember that Destroids are a Hell of a lot CHEAPER to make. We have only seen shows relating to UN SPACY (Air/Space). It is unreasonable to think that the land/sea forces of dozens (hundreds?) of colonization worlds would only use the most expensive type of mecha available for things like Civil Defense. Even buying a surplus VF-5000 squadron would be more expensive than a battalion of Destroids. One last point- unless thee is something in the Japanese that No one has ever bothered translating - there is NOTHING to support the idea that destroids are gone forever-- that is only speculation, same as mine that they are still around.

FAS showed nothing, neither did my aircraft encyclopedia. Considering it's use in M7:tGiCM, this link popping up in a search was amusing to me. http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcon...?strMixID=22245

VF-19 & YF-21/22 Technical Discussion.
daeudi replied to Chindenathus's topic in Movies and TV Series
Why did they bother? LMAO It's not like anything made by the hands of mortal men could EVER catch it, much less knock it down. Yes, he was flying low and fast before he pulled up and made for the black, so possible he means from sea level... -
We should be so lucky! No, really- we should. Egan Loo http://www.anime.net/macross/introduction/...NotRobotechNote This resource is sanctioned by Bandai Visual and Manga Entertainment, Inc. ... Not really a messy fight.... It's pretty simple- Egan Loo: Authorized Source. WindJammer/Nanashi: Guy who can't tell the difference between official documents and fan documents and crap generated by profiteers and bootleggers. Also a guy who tries to blatantly infringe on copyright, as well as refuse to reveal his sources to the masses (hiding what?) Someone who thinks that just because he paid big money for it, he can call it official. Let's be honest- WJ has been swinging, then EL finally got in the ring and KO'd WJ with a flurry of short quick jabs of truth. And the undefeated champion: the authorized source!
-
First off- Egan, glad you are feeling better- Graham had us worried about you (actually first off I wanted shout "Tag and Score!" but thought it would be too immature of me.) Thank you, as being the only OFFICIAL English Macross source on the net, for clearing all those points up.
-
well- to be honest- it is BARELY a macross issue. Macross II is totally without a doubt not even in the same universe. (had to be devil's advocate) VF-22 without a doubt. PPB, reaaction weapons, and and anyone who watches the footage of the combat scenes one after the other will see the 22 has so much maneuverability that the MS would never score a hit. Especially with the Gundam reject plasma lance.

I'm guessing you have never met a fighter pilot, much less a test pilot. They frequently get into bar fights, etc. They ARE crazy. You have to be. Fighter pilot mentality is one that borders megalomania, they are powerful gods in their own eyes. They have to be. Confidence. The best pilots are also the most confident ones. A loss of confidence means a dead pilot. Test pilots are worse, they don't really believe that they CAN die. Sure they say they know they can, but they don't BELIEVE it. Seriously- read Chuck Yeager's book. The man tries to come off circumspective- but he has balls the size of a planet and is completely insane in the membrane. Gotta love that guy!

I just wanted to know where to go to the schematic views! Stop fighting, you're tearing this family apart! I don't want another Daddy....uhm, nevermind- flashed back to something else. Seriously- When I asked about the references- I just wanted to do some scans myself for some posters at home. This is out of hand y'all. -

Seriously. 30 seconds per page. That would end this once and for all. And be a bigger aid to fellow Macross fans, which is the purpose of your site after all. Like I said- if you show something we like, how will we know where to get a copy for ourselves? Especially of the artowrk that you don't want anyone copying? What do ya say Nanashi- will ya list your references? -
Has there been ANY line art of this thing published yet?

Pre-Korea: P-38J Lightning and other Propeller driven fighter planes were labeled P for Pursuit. The P (patrol) designation of craft like the PBY Catalina are another story entirely. If it was just a P-## then it was a fighter. if it was P@@-### then it was a patrol craft.

So- it seems I have a second to my motion, lol. All I am saying is that while you are making a page, why not include the material you get it from? Since you are obviously checking that material for the page, why not list it? This would be an additional- what? 30 seconds of typing? I understand the pics take time to clean and scan- but 30 seconds wouldn't hurt would it? You take the time to add your logo and specious copyright to everything. If you want to be taken as serious- list your sources on the page. (Yes I said specious copyright. The copyright is not valid anymore than it would be if you were copyrighting an MP3 that you adjusted the volume levels on, or copyrighted scans of ANY other material whose copyright is owned by the creator. I'm sorry, but translations of copyrighted material are still the property of the original creators.) So please take a half-minute per page to list the originals! I do appreciate your work, but if you want us to refer to you regularly, give us a reason to. Stating that you will reply to direct e-mails regarding your source is a poor way of handling it, both logistically, and in terms of professionalism.
