Fighter Mode... Obviously the color has been enhanced- due to the low res of these, I had to do something to enhance visibility. And yes- it seems mis-drawn if these are the same bird... fighter mode has only ONE booster. BUT!!! if you look closely, it almost looks like the 2 boosters sit touching each other in fighter mode, note the double hump at the front tip of these....
-
As these images show- it clearly has the same style canards on the FAST packs... The gatling is new, and it lacks the leg boosters. And yes- it is a naked gatling.... you see similiar in the hobby book and that drawing by the Italiano (I forget is name, but sounds Italian.)

Isn't pointless use of profanity in the rules somewhere? so- anyone who knows the names of everyone who worked on the animation have a guess about M. Fancy?
-
I played with it in photoshop, different channels, modes, etc. It looks like someones signature... "D?????" (unreadable) followed by "M. Fancy 2000"

*twitches* VOLTRON 3D DID NOT EXIST! IT NEVER HAPPENED! THEY DID NOT RAPE MY CHILDHOOD! No amount of denial will ever make it clean. Hell, it had freakin' Tim Curry, and that ugly ass ninja voltron. Netter Digital had to die, it was the only way... I am resisting the urge to post the word "DENIAL" as many times as I can hit CNTRL+V.....

I guess in game where your final enemy is a space demon baby, it really doesn't matter that you're using technology from 28 years into the future. "space demon Baby"... A demon that is actually controlling the Zent fleet, and had them produce variations on exsting mecha... A UN SPACY Valk that has a Minmei booster that converts the enemy.... Gee forget continuity- I figure this game was the INSPIRATION for M7!
-
Yeah, I'd say it's the Macross, you can see some of the blurred ARMD details. Sorry- there is no way that is the SDF-1. It is clearly not, those "fingertips" appear to be some sort of vane, like a canard or radar boom. Not the ARMDs. Like was said, probably just a variation drawn for fun. No one thinks it is in any way canon, but it is fun to speculate.

fast packs seem to have some energy weapons, but the leg fast packs look like those from the hobby book, or the "High Angel" fan custom model

All the Zent/Melt's on the official art shows round ears, so I guess that settles that. Unless Egan says it can go either way? It was hard to tell what he meant by his comment.
-
Huh? PLEASE! Show me a pic of Millia with pointed ears! Touche' But is there any that is from the animation or otherwise produced BY SNue or BWest? You got me with the game cover art, but that is not quite an official source.
-
Not at all what I said. I'll hope you were joking and ignore it. No one thinks Egan is a noob. Not for providing the rare images, not for trying to spread the Macross Love. For= A: not listing his sources, B: for declaring things official merely on his say so (see A) C: Pulling an HG and claiming copyright on someone else's artwork and writing because he translated it into english, or translated it from analog (paper) into digital (scanned). It seems he fully intends to stop those practices, so I'm sure the "bitching" will stop. And what would you proprose they do? Aren't there enough sites? and remember, just because someone has under 100 posts on these boards does not make them a noob. Remember the old boards?

You mean the plasma wasn't even on? Was that Munchkin, or did it hit a coolant line? Either way, that is incredible!
-
The new Disclaimer looks great. Thanks, a lot of us were hoping for a better pic than from the game or the game box. "secret long lost source material mauhahah hahaaa " That's just cruel man, "If I recall, it's officially designated a "Minmay Beam"." What are the game effects? That would at least get us closer....
-
or he could be just sick of every noob bitching around Uhm- Who are you refering to as a noob? Because the biggest "bitching around" wasn't from any "noob" but from Egan Loo. And it wasn't bitching, it was correction.

probaly preprogrammed moves, with a fuzzy logic apprehension system, in order to realize that "hey, that double press on pedal B means run!" Think about the moves in Mortal Combat... L1,L1,R2,X,X,X,<,<,<,O could mean to a VF-1: crscent kick follwed by a PPB punch. And Max Jenius made his own damned GameShark!!!
-
Same here- he's 404.... Perhaps he revamping it to comply - as he stated that he would in his last post. Maybe correcting his "copyright" and "property of" claims, etc.

The real deal with Harmony Gold and DYRL
daeudi replied to Apollo Leader's topic in Movies and TV Series
While HG bought the right to air the series, I think everyone here can agree that they distorted, mutilated and other modification against SN/Kawamori's will. Based on what they bought from TP, Did HG have the right to do that? In other words, did TP have the right to mutilate it? As far as I know, Tatsunoko only had distribution rights. While debatably they could have done mild editing for purposes of making it acceptable to air, I very seriously doubt that distribution rights includes the abiity to rewrite the program to any signifigant degree. Now how is "any distortion, mutilation or other modification against his will" different from the "derivative work" that HG has done? Where is the proverbial line? -

That's what I keep thinking- the whole concept of Author's Rights and Moral Rights is driving me nuts.

After every flight, pilots fill out a form called a gripe sheet, which conveys to the mechanics problems encountered with the aircraft during the flight that need repair or correction. The mechanics read and correct the problem, and then respond in writing on what action was taken. Never let it be said that ground crews and engineers lack a sense of humor. Here are some actual logged maintenance complaints and problems as submitted by Valkyrie pilots and the solution recorded by maintenance engineers. (P = The problem logged by the pilot.) (S = The solution and action taken by the engineers.) _________________________________________________________ P: Left inside main tire almost needs replacement. S: Almost replaced left inside main tire. P: Test flight OK, except auto-land very rough. S: Auto-land not installed on VF series. P: Something loose in cockpit. S: Something tightened in cockpit. P: Dead Varuta on windshield. S: Live Varuta on backorder. P: Autopilot in altitude-hold mode produces a 200 feet per minute descent. S: Cannot reproduce problem on ground. P: Evidence of leak on right main landing gear. S: Evidence removed. P: DME volume unbelievably loud. S: DME volume set to more believable level. P: Friction locks cause throttle levers to stick. S: That's what they're there for. P: IFF inoperative. S: IFF always inoperative in OFF mode. P: Suspected crack in windshield. S: Suspect you're right. P: Number 2 engine missing. S: Engine found after brief search. P: Valk handles funny. S: Valk warned to straighten up, fly right, and be serious. P: Target radar hums. S: Reprogrammed target radar with "Planet Dance" lyrics. P: Mouse in cockpit. S: Cat installed. P: Noise coming from under instrument panel. Sounds like a midget pounding on something with a hammer. S: Took hammer away from midget. ------------------ Please feel free to add your own (these are modified from reports from Qantas airlines.)

Huh? PLEASE! Show me a pic of Millia with pointed ears! or anyone? Not trying to argue, but I have Never seen it... I knew the Zolans did, but the Zentrans? I am completely shocked! Edit: If it is in DYRL or 2012, that would explain my confusion. Never actually got to watch those, just "Clash"- and I turned that off after 15 minutes.
-
Forgive me for kowtowing to SK yet again... I prefer the visuals in DYRL, but the story of SDF:M. If only we could get them to redeux the series with the DYRL imagery :sigh:
-
Whatever program you used to do that imge, PLEASE FTLOG delelete from your hardrive and find yourself a copy of Photoshop or something. Perhaps the reaction would not be as negative if the image had more...uhm- what's the word here?

Every design sketch, and game (though not canon- surely can't be that wrong!) that I have seen does not place the Variable Glug as full size. Especially once the UN got a hold of it. EDIT: I sit corrected.... the original Variable Glaug prototype is macro. The UN one is normal size. Only thing I have ever seen which came close was a fan-fic piece of a VF-11 in Macroscale, that had 4 normscale QF-11s on hardpoints, lol. But, alas, I think UN spacy has no intention of arming full size Zentran.

I remember people arguing about Phantom Menace back on the old boards, saying it had religious references....... Phantom Menace.... I'm sorry, How did the statement go from Star Wars to Phantom Menace? They aren't the same universe! Anyways- I think what we see is an underlying acceptance of the principal of supernatural good vs supernatural evil, and a search for some greater meaning than the cold universe that Darwinism offers. Most of humanity believes that the universe has a purpose, a beginning, and therefore an end. All religions with an Apocalypse have a concurrent theme- so why not refer to the one most documented? I still have not heard from anyone as to whether or not SK has ever spoken about religious overtones- whether in Macross or any other anime of his. Look at Escaflowne... Human-like beings with the blood of "Dragons" running through them who have power and large white (dare I say "angelic"?) wings. and a slew of other things which would take us far off my question.
