Thanks... it was just a quick little kit bash using images from Merzo. If I had spent more than 10 minutes, I could have been a lot closer. Personally, I think there ought to be an international treaty requiring all mecha designers to do a 3 view, as well as perspective drawing. I personally hate thhe 'Macross Cannon' ships. yes, they would do a crap load of damage. but it seems like a massive waste of resources. HOWEVER.... considering how much the scale is, including things like the ConnTower/Head.... A ratio of around 5:1.... Could the 'Macross Cannon' ships be built on a very similiar design to the SDF-1, but in Macronized scale? Could they just be Zentran sized SDFs?

Here is a pic based on perspective, and the fact that those are Nupetiets.... I used vanishing points to determine the size of the parts. The pic is 10 pixels per meter, and includes the SDF-1 for scale. This makes the Macross cannons roughly 5400 meters in length, while in Ship Mode. (The image shows 5360) Storm Attacker, or whatever they call it, for these ships would take me a bit longer to make an image for. I used the raw image of the Nupetiets, rather than the UN Spacy refits, but the size should be roughly the same. Note that the thinner front bow seems to be removed from the Nupetiets in the "arms" in all the source images available.

Did anyone else notice the very strong resemblence between the tripods and the Invid mecha? the whole shape of the front, and the eye sensor just screams "stage 4 Invid" to me. Just replace the legs with 3 tentacles, and remove the shoulder-mount heat cannons....

Someone (?) (sorry, I shoulda quoted) said that the AFOS and her fly off to the center of the galaxy- speculation? yes. Probable? yes. AFOS was most likely the device that the protoculture used when tampering with our DNA (see Chronology- Before the Fall). It is likely that the Annima Spiritia humans are a direct result of this tampering. Possible mixed breeding with someone from this island over the past centuries? Probably. "Heavy Battroid MBR-08 Mk. II" A completed pre-production design that did not appear in the Macross TV series making it unofficial. MBR-04-Mk II Destroid Mark I Enhanced Main Battle Robot AHEM! This is not in the preproduction section, it is in the mecha section of MPM. It is also an entry at the Compendium. This IS an official mecha, it just has no information given on it other that its name.

They are much too large to be PBG-11s. Unless you mean the kit bash... Regarding size: Them being too large may be an optical Illusion. It is definitely made from the kit-bash, but I believe the text for that image lists it as those particular weapons... I could be reading it wrong...

It terms of transformation: The chest/back piece is one solid piece, no folding, no head hole. The arms are 2 halfs screwed together, bothe arm pieces are missing one side. The legs have no knee joints. The legs have a socket locking them in place, even when unscrewed. The swinging shoulder hinges are present and would be functional, except the shoulders are designed as one piece, like the forearms. If one wanted to take the time and effort, he could redesign this toy to transform, recasting the parts. It would be easy to cast because the parts are so large. Difficulty arises from needing to make knee joints, hands and rotating shoulder joints. It is obvious that this thing's trasnformation process is strongly based on the Bandai 1/55... and that may be why they stopped it... the transformation may have been a patent infringement. Even though the shape is awful. If someone were to make and cast a transformable version, the question would be if anyone would even WANT to buy one from whoever did it...

Those are not just 2 cannons on the left arm.... those are in fact: 2 x Mauler PBG-11 liquid-cooled electrically-charged particle beam gun The exact same cannons on the Tomahawk. For those who want that detail. Like Ewilen said... imacross is the option... I got the entire macross hobby book thanks to imacross... but it is a long slow process... worth it tho' since they are all officical.

The head on the Matchbox POS is of J shape (mostly, lol) with S cannons (sorta)... all mounted on a very-tekk with Skull 1 markings (more or less)

I have yet to see a ICBM with a propeller, though it would be amusing. And on a similar note, why does a mech with a ICBM stapped to it's head have relatively short range weaponry for arms. If you're launching that nuke at what you're hitting with that artillary, you're going to have some problems, namely you getting incinerated. By the way, does this remind anyone of Metal Gear? RAY!!! propeller- maybe propellant? (Iknow, he already declared it a typo) Short range weapons: if you note, It has ICBM, x2 Tomahawk style cannons on Left arm, and pepperbox of short range missiles on right arm.... Can anyone say Self Defense? These would be earth based, probable in underground bunkers. When enemy ships arrive, they march the ICBM out, fire it at enemy ships, then engage enemy ground forces with arm weapons... The heat from ICBM..... good point, but then again- I always wondered if NASA has to throw away a shuttle Launch tower every time... elevator and all?

The mecha in the Hobbybook were declared official when it came out. That is why Egan added them to compendium.

[Rinse Mode] Actually, as you will note when you peruse the Macross Compendium- all the mecha appearing in the Macross Hobby Book ARE considered canon... which includes the Deep Diver and Funny Chinese. Besides, I think for most of us, it isn't about canon, it's about "Hey, check this cool art!!!" [/Rinse Mode] Not saying this Topic's art is, but I like to speculate about other stuff... perhaps it is the same artist as the guy who drew the EntBible cover? Actually, due to perspective, the other booster simply seems hidden by the nose of the Valkyrie. Even if the booster was actually missing, if it were drawn, it'd still be mostly or completely obstructed. -Al You are absolutely correct- I took a second look, and it appears to just barely be visible above the cockpit and the wing root...
