My fellow Earthicans.... Would US audiences easily accept something where song defeats war? Depends on how it was shilled. If it was a 'musical' starring Celine Dion or some other twit.... Miley Cyrus as Minmei? Rhianna as Sheryl? It could happen. It would suck. It would probably not bomb. A direct to live action transcription of DYRL? It would not suck. It would probably bomb. While I may agree with you... isn't it a bit disingenuous to spend most of a thread talking about how everything animated before was canon- and then point out a glaring retcon? If communication (i.e. a script element) can be retconned, how do we know the designs weren't as well?

RE: SherylxAltoxRanka Based on simple observation of other... shall we say... similiar situations, I think we can deduce a few things- "You, <double take>, both of you are my wings." Just a simple way of saying that he NEEDS both of them... note his lack of using the word love- in fact, he almost never refers to his own feelings of love throughout the whole series. He is emotionally damaged goods, with a mother who died when he was young, and a father who was distant and demanding. He has obvious difficulties with the very concept of love. He wants to love, and despite his need to protect Ranka, his first instinct is towards Sheryl. If for no other reason than he is a teen male, and she is the more developed mating partner. There are aspects of the personality of both girls that he has issues with- but Ranka's (while he retroactively respects the outcome/goal) were severe enough that he was willing to kill her if needed. That alone would take some time to get over. Until all three are fully mature, he would (IRL) just bounce between the two, with whatever physical effects being aimed at the one more ready/willing to reciprocate. The likelihood of either AltoxRanka or AltoxSheryl becoming a H.E.A. tale is slim, and can not even be guessed at who the final winner would be because they are all still too young, and have not fully developed into who they WILL be someday. === So in conclusion, shippers need to stop worrying about a fictional character's lovelife. It will work out however it works out in the final piece that SK produces which contains those characters. Has there ever been a side view of the VF-14 VAMPIRE? (GAME VERSION). Also, I suppose the Neo-Glaug (UN Version) should go there too... not that I have ever seen a side view for it either.

While not an accurate indicator of flight paths, it does, along with a few shots I saw in early episodes, provide general directions relative to galactic core.... You couldn't use it to guess what star they were near, but you could probably be safe in saying that it went towards 3oclock, or 7oclock, etc... Besides, spinward/counterspin and in/outbound are VERY general, not a lot of wrk.

Actually, that will be the new movie... Using new fold capabilities, and the unprecedented communications leap, Macross frontier is urged by Bilrer and others to seek the Megaroad. The search is joined by the 11th fleet, which Myung and Isamu moved to in order to escape the past. But a horrible fate awaits them inside FOLD SPACE ITSELF!!! Fold space overcomes time and causality, and the Megaroad was transported into the midst of the 'final battle' between the Protoculture and Supervision Army- Which is STILL happening inside a bubble of fold space! In order to end this ancient war once and for all will take thhe human heart, and song. Specifically, the song of Minmai! Myung! Basara! Mylene! Ranka! Sheryl! And at its conclusion you see the fold space bubble fall apart, setting adrift the birdman millenia in the past, while the ASS-1 falls out of it a few seconds/millenia later! Reading the gist of it here has affirmed it. Yes it was rushed, but I didn't have that same feeling of: TOO MUCH that I got from the last season finale of Doctor Who... Everything that showed up *belonged* there. While stuff was left out, it didn't have any lame injections. And personally, I loved what thhe music was doing this episode. Those 3 characters in the ending credits scenes.... kinda reminds me of Konda, et al... But I always assumed that they went with Minmei on Megaroad.
