  1. I second Mad Max's last of the V8 interceptors! I loved the scenes where he'd engage the supercharger and close the gap on the cycle punks in like 3 seconds.
  2. At least it looks like modern quality animation, especially compared to the Sentinels crap. As long as they have transforming motorcycles, I'm all for it.
  3. I would go with the DYRL suit, especially if hey're able to do the helmet and other attachments.
  4. Thanks for the compliments. They're not deserved, but I'll take them. :-D Peter, all carbon fiber finish? That is incredible. My next model has some carbon fiber in it, and it was a bitch and a half. Maybe I should consider using separate pieces next time, instead of using one whole piece. I'm going to go carbon fiber crazy with the next model I build. JGTC NSX are just so incredible, aren't they? And just for the record, how many NSX kits do you have? I have two Tamiya Acura NSX and one avex Dome Mugen NSX. No R type. I really would like more, but I'm more of a Ferrari fan at the moment. PS: Any chance you can take more pictures of that Rosso NSX kit? Better yet, any chance of selling it to me? :-P The CF GT500 NSX is actually shabilly built if you look really close. There's a lot of overlapping. It took me three months on and off mucking around with it but if I really took my time and tried to make it perfect it probably would have taken a year at the rate I was going. My best friend in that project was Mr. Mark Softer. That stuff is magic. As for NSX models, I've got a couple: Unbuilt: Tamiya JGTC - 6 Tamiya NSX-R - 5 Tamiya Honda NSX - 2 Tamiya Acura NSX - 1 Rosso 1/12 scale Rosso 1/43 scale Completed: Tamiya JGTC - 4 Tamiya NSX-R - 1 Tamiya Honda NSX - 2 And I've got a bunch of die cast and other minatures...I've lost track. There's a pic somewhere of some of my collection but since then I've collected more: http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread....=Neo%27s+models Rosso I've been toying with the idea of buying an NSX for the past year or so. Problem is while I've looked one over up close ( a '95 at a local Honda dealership that was abused and overpriced) I haven't driven one. The interior was almost identically laid out to my 300zx twinturbo. But I decided that I needed a cool car with a back seat for my little girl so I added a G35 6MT to the fleet last week. Guess the NSX can wait another year or so.
  5. DVDs don't transform. Your choice is simple...
  6. Yeah, I know he probably wouldn't really be alive anyway , but if this is hyped as some sort of new prototype medical center the Emperor has set up, I'd expect to see a little more gadgets and hoohahs there. Rebuilding him is suppposed to be stretching all technology to that point.
  7. If that image of Anakin on the table is real, I'm a bit disappointed. He's just lying on a frickin table. Where's the life support machinery and tubes into him? And the lung machine implants, etc. They're already attaching the cyborg limbs and he's still wearing the remnants of the cloak he was burned in. You'd have to clean and sterilize all that tissue or he'd die from massive infection. Is he still wearing all that crap under his Vader suit? C'mon Lucas at least try a little bit!
  8. My 12" full action Hikaru is put together from existing toys and not too hard to do:
  9. Those pics are from this auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 which ended the other day at $192. So either this guy is stealing pictures or he won the auction and is looking to pump some profit out of you. So I would avoid the deal. That said, I would like to get ahold of one of these to see if ther is any manufacturer's mark on the feet and if it has all the firing mechanisms like the Takatoku, or is stripped like the Bandai.
  10. Save me digging thru a bunch of websites and fill me in on these questions please: 1) WTF are the angels? Why do they always go straight for Nerv HQ? 2) WTF are the Evas, clones of Adam or Eve or something? Is Eva01 Shinji's mom? 3) WTF is Rei, clones of some orginal kid floating in goo somewhere? 4) WTF is second impact? I'm sure someone here know the generally accepted answers to these so spill it.
  11. I don't understand the hoopla over the Low Viz. I had one, and liked it less than the others out at the time. It's just a grey 1A. The 1A Max didn't do anything for me either and now everyone clamors for them. I was glad, however, to sell them both at a profit rather than a loss.
  12. If the whole movie is as good as that last chapter, I will forgive Lucas for the first 2. It really wraps up most of the questions I had and makes you understand how tragic the Vader character really is.
  13. Ok, I just checked out my film comics and they don't have the bulb tips, though in the opening battle, you clearly see a pilot maneuvering into formation with wing tip boosters. Too bad, I think they'd look cool.
  14. I'm talking about wing tips like those on the Elint and Ostrich. I don't see any verniers on my 1/48 wing tips.
  15. Since the 1A Hikaru and Max and both 1S types are all marked as DYRL, why do they not have the booster-tipped wings. You can see in the first space battle in the movie that they clearly have them.
  16. That makes alot of sense to me. I also think that the MK II's are a little more rugged than the VII's, it never says so anywhere just my theory. Think about how some WWII fighters could absorb damage next to say what an F-16 could take. The F-16 is a FAR superiour (spelling) fighter than say a P-47 or any other WWII aircraft for that matter, but the damage a P-47 could take and KEEP flying and fighting would bring down a squadron of F-16's. I'm not trying to trash the 16, it's a great fighter, just trying to compare high tech versus rugged reliability. Chris Also, modern fighters have unstable airframes, so they won't glide if they get fragged up. Just tumble and drop.
  17. They also need to explain why 3PO doesn't remember anything from the first two movies in Star Wars and why OB1 doesn't recognize the droids.
  18. I'm confused, wasn't Darth Tyranus what Palpatine was calling himseilf in the first movie? Or is that Christopher Lee's character? If it was Palpatine, why the name change to Sidious?
  19. It's also very easy for anime fans, who are generally a tech-savy segment, to use netflix to rent 3 discs at a time and burn copies rather than shell out $30 for 3 episodes hits the anime retailers between the eyes. Not that I condone that or anything, but you know it's widespread.
  20. I thought original retail on the YF-19 was outrageous after I received the two I ordered (1st issue). I thought they were floppy crap and still do. Luckily others don't feel the same so I was able get rid of them at a bit of a profit .
  21. Is your postal worker charging you to kick you in the balls??
  22. I don't really see any difference between these shots and the one displayed at the Yamato booth. I think this explains, though, why it came out of the blue while other toys like the YF-19 FP are still vaporware - they didn't have to engineer and sculpt the prototype, they got it from another company who had already had it ready for about 5 years. But I don't care if they found it in the sewer, I love it and will buy several. Like Mechamaniac, I've been waiting 20+ years for this guy.
  23. Well, I ordered one of these back in the day which is why I know about them. The quality was definitely Joons grade. No metal inner legs, the canopy was not panel lined, and the 1J visor was not painted. The inner tray was styrofoam and the outer box definitely said Space Fighter but had no manufacturer name at all. $24.95 from the Robot Store in New York, which advertised regularly in the Comico Robotech comics. I can probably find the ad if I can locate my old comics.
  24. Not to be a goody-2-shoes, but Toynami probably monitors these boards and if they think they're getting taken for a ride on their good-natured replacements they may stop honoring legitimate claims. Something to consider...
  25. Depends on if you are collecting distinct boxes or just distinct toys inside them. Here are 2 ya don't have: - grey 1J Joons with smoke canopy in Macross box - grey 1J Joons with amber canopy and yin-yang symbols in Space Fighter box. These were actually advertised in the old Comico robotech comics, so they're old
