Well, they're resissuing the VF-11 with Fast Packs, right? Probably noticed the crazy spike in ebay prices on them. And they reissued the VF-1S 1/48 Roy the third time when the previous issues did the same. So I wouldn't be surprised.

I was hoping for Sentinels. Damn.

Gundam toys in the US are officially dead..
glane21 replied to DarkPhoenix's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
At my local KB, in addition to the Seed releases mentioned by others, they had the GP-02 and GP-01FB on the newer designed cards. So I think some of the last round of the wave that included the Full Armor Gundam may be leaking out as well. -
I think Grievous walks like a turkey or an ostrich.

Why go through all that and not make the helmet removeable? Couldn't afford Peter Weller?

Rob Liefeld's Teen Titans
glane21 replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Art Adams is indeed awesome and was clearly aped by Lee, Campbell, Turner, etc. When I was at his studio, Jim Lee showed me the submission pencils he used to get his first job at Marvel. They were terrible and I mean baad. I couldn't believe it got him a job let alone that they were his. So it's amazing how far he improved to be one of the best ever. Campbell was there too but he didn't really say much, I think he was having some lung issues. Just showed me some Danger Girl pencils, I think from #2. There were kind of bland but really looked good after coloring and photoshop effects. -
Rob Liefeld's Teen Titans

I see he still has no idea about anatomy. Check out that right lower leg on Cyborg. It's the same size or bigger than the upper left leg that is being flung into the foreground. I'm amazed he landed a gig anyhow as the comics pros hate him even more than the fans do. -
I have a Bandai. Does anyone have that Taiwan bootleg? I'd like to know if it has the launchers on the arms like the Taka, and what it says on the bottom of the foot, if anything.

Are the figure bodies different or just the accessories?
-
I'm confused, are these the same figures that Bandai released here in the US?
-
I'll get a set. But I need directions for where they go.

What has Peter Jackson done with his life?
glane21 replied to bsu legato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My "Midget Wrangler" was fired on the second day of filming. This lead to problems with the unions that plagued the production until the producers shut us down. I don't like to talk about that period of my life, to be honest. It was a real heartbreaker. What's all this about? -

educate me both the stickered and the painted had room for the symbol... not a sticker moved off something else and put on a jetfire wing. It's even peeling! Without a good look at the head lasers I can't say whether they moved a sticker and backplate to a different jetfire or replaced a wing on an actuial matsu. I'm betting on moving the backplate though looking at what I can see. Looks legit to me, I can see circular white space around the macross sticker indicating the red stripe does not go underneath. Plus it has the lined canopy and the correct head lasers as you can see the indents near the base of the barrels in this shot.

Powerpuff Girls go anime!
glane21 replied to terry the lone wolf's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Weird, an anime of a cartoon that was a rip-off of anime. I never cared to watch the PPG but Invader Zim is flat out hilarious and definitely an adult-oriented show disguised as a kid show. -
I agree, it was total Trekkie candy and I loved it. They even got the positions of the dead Defiant crew members on the bridge right ( the red shirt choking the captain). It's clear they intend to end the series with a bang. Too bad they weren't this bold all along, then maybe the show would have done better. I know I rarely wtahced it before I heard about this episode.

So these will be bolt-on and molded in color? That will make huge difference to folks like me with little patience.

What did these kits originally cost at Wonderfest? I'm guessing not $1000. If I were D'Stance or Liquid Stone or whoever, I'd sell my 10 at WF, let the crazy hype make the secondary prices gonzo and then ebay a few on the sly afterward for some mad money.

yeah, that's a good example of a tatsunoko box. If you look by the foot of the valk in box, you can see a little gold sticker to the right of the foot. That's the tatsunoko sticker I was talking about. And as you can see it not only comes with jetfire armor, but a jetfire as well! Another member on here won an auction last year for a strike boxed tatsunoko valk, but it came with jetfire armor and a minty white untouched jetfire. I didn't think anything of it as I was just focused on obtaining the sticker sheet from that set. The winner ended up keeping the minty jetfire and armor and sold me the sticker sheet, instructions (which were takatoku instructions like the one in the auction), box and styrofoam for like 40 bucks!! But now that we see another minty white jetfire here with the same exact contents that I bought, it just shows that there were some jetfires packaged in strike valk boxes. If I remember correctly, some of the jetfire transformer boxes also had tatsunoko stickers on them too. I'll have to check my jetfire box when I get home. So the tatsunoko company probably had left over jetfires and armor and decided to packaged them in strike/elintseeker boxes. I think all jetfire boxes had the Tatsunoko seahorse sticker. Even my Bandai manufactured Jetfire's box had it and I bought it retail back in the day at KB.

Yes, that is a good example of those Elints I was talking about. Note that they also did not include decal sheets or the black heatshield.

actually I have both regular bandai strike box and tatsunoko strike boxes and both have that wriggling worm look on it too. I was wondering why it was like that. Anyway, Alpha-GHQ can you take some close up pictures of it? What do you mean by Tastsunoko strike box? Did you mean Takatoku? Only Bandai made a Strike Valkyrie. The one I have has the textured box. However the Bandai Super Ostrich and Elintseeker boxes I've had were glossy/slick like the one AGENT-GHQ describes on his latest Strike. It's possible he has a later issue Strike which was released around the same time as the Elint and SuperO and the box stock had changed. nope, I'm not talking about takatoku. Tatsunoko like agent - GHQ stated is the company that I guess released the last few sets of the strike valk. But one thing that I've noticed is that all the people who were selling the tatsunoko boxes off of ebay had the valk correct but had the jetfire armor instead. So what I'm guessing is that when bandai stopped making the figures, Tatsunoko picked up the left over valks and packed them with jetfire armor. I've also seen the elint come with the jetfire armor as well. So before you buy another strike, make sure it comes with the actual strike armor! I dunno pat. I think since jetfires are so easily accessible compares to Strikes that is why they have teh jetfire armor. THey prolly lost their strike armor. Dangit I need a strike I can verify that Elints were indeed packaged with Jetfire armor from the factory as I bought a few from a retailer that way back in the 80's. I had not heard of any Strikes sold that way but it is possible. I would say this is another point in the timeline between when the production went from: Takatoku -> Tatsunoko? -> Matsushiro -> Bandai

I think it kicks ass! However the ending did not lend itself to a sequel. The series has already been reimagined twice more in the OVAs Shin Getter Robo vs. Neo Getter and New Shin Getter Robo. Each time is a slight twist on the same characters and story. Go Nagai and Ken Ishikawa know how to milk a franchise but at least it gets us new toys every few years.

Is it the one that he breaks the right front axle/suspension on right at the end of the chase? Some interesting trivia: the guy, Scott Rosenberg, who wrote Con Air and I believe the Gone in Sixty Seconds remake was the founder/owner of Eternity Comics/Malibu Graphics for whom I drew Robotech and other manga-ish comics back in the 80's. Crazy huh?

Exo, your posts crack me up because half the time they end with "Damn you <insert toy company>!"
