I just got the Shin Getter 1 Revoltech. I had hoped it would at least be teh same size as their Getter 1 Roll Out figure so I could display them together, but it is much smaller

I'm pretty sure the one still shot of the guy with a bloody forehead in an upside down car, it's a Fiero. Check out that ribbed door trim. Totally 1984-1987 Fiero door. They probably used kit cars for the Diablo and any others that could pass.

Looks pretty quality to me, I'm taking the free shipping offer. It will look good next to my custom 1/6 Hikaru in TV flight suit. <TriumphTheDogVoice/> And it comes with a Skull squadron patch that you can have your Mom sew on your shirt! </TriumphTheDogVoice>

Have You Ever Met A Celebrity Or Famous Person?
glane21 replied to Phalanx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Years ago I was working at Toys R Us during the christmas season. One night Glenn Danzig's tour bus pulls in so he can shop for action figures. He's like 5 ft tall with a 7 ft body guard who looked like Rob Zombie with a cowboy hat. He was looking for a Batman Legends Riddler, which was hot at the time I guess. So I went in back and found him one. As I was coming back towards him, the body guard almost pummeled me before he realized what I was doing. Danzig said "thanks, man" as I handed him the Riddler. That is all, but the rest of the night we all walked around going "Mother!!" -
They're all made by Gakken, from the 80's, except the Invid which is either by Matchbox or a Playmates reissue,

"Lead whore", that's hilarious It would be great if that's what ot said in the credits. I thought I saw Vin Diesel in one of the tv commercials for it, is that the HIM you are referring to? If so, they must have pushed an assload of cash at him...though he hasn't done too much lately and probably needed the payday.

X-men 3 Pics: Beast And Angel Revealed

There must've been tons of them laying around from the soldier's cracked up guns. I'd doubt only the three used on Magneto survived Shockwave's attack. -
X-men 3 Pics: Beast And Angel Revealed

Has no one mentioned the obvious plothole that Logan could have used a cure dart on Phoenix instead of killing her? Sure it would have been tough but he could have kept it behind his back while she burned the flesh off his front side walking up to her. Since he loved her so much you'd think he'd at least try any alternative to avoid having to kill her. We find out later it's apparently a temp fix but no one knew that, and besides they could just re-juice her as needed. Or have that Leech kid hang around with her all the time. Seems to me that any future movie should have to deal with the fact that any mutant can temporarily de-power with the serum if they need to. Like so Rogue and Bobby can get busy, or Hank to de-fur or whatever. Also, no way the government would just forget about such a serum as a weapon. -
The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
glane21 replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
You are right, in the anime there is a monitor screen that comes up from behind the handle bars that is backed by said armor piece. That's how Shogo 'sees' in robo mode rather than some clear window. But this toy still friggin rocks. It looks like the fingers are even articulated.- 1056 replies

It was not even a contest, the Raptors got confirmed kills on all the Eagles before the Eagle pilots even knew they were there. One pilot said there was no sign of the F-22 until it flew over his cockpit, no radar trace.

This is an original production in cooperation with Cartoon Network, which has been airing it on Saturday nights at 10:30 eastern. It's in English, but there is probably a Japanese track version being made as well. The show is pretty good and the animation is nice, though a bit Zoid-ish.

Who wasn't there? Tiffany something I can't read. Seeing old sci-fi actors groveling to sell autographs is sometimes just so sad. Like the original Lois Lane there. I've seen them at shows before attracting zero interest and you feel almost bad enough to go up and buy something...almost. As for the attendance, I think the internet (24 hr discussion and info), ebay(24hr borderless collectibles shopping), and video games (comic sales and fandom crashing) are killing cons.

Thanks for the info, Greg. I knew that it was an original Japanese issue, but didn't know about the missiles... So there is a variant in the Japanese packaging, but without the firing missiles? I knew that was true of the Henshin Robo releases since I had owned one, but had assumed that all the japanese ones had firing missiles. I'll keep you in the loop next time I see one. 379448 Thanks Hiriyu. Yes, there is also a variant that comes in the Japanese box, but the toy is marked Made in Singapore. All the ones I know of are: 1) Japanese box 1st issue firing missiles Made in Japan (Rarest) 2) Japanese box disabled missiles Made in Japan 3) Japanese box disabled missiles Made in Singapore 4) Henshin Robo box disabled missiles Made in Singapore 5) Robotech Box disabled missiles Made in Singapore 6) Robotech Harmony Gold box disabled missiles Made in Singapore (also pretty rare) and maybe 7) There may have been a bootleg of this toy that had all black wheels, and the rider figure has all red upper arms and shoulders, with firing red missiles. Cannot confirm as I saw it loose on ebay but the seller said he had not painted anything.
-
Two reasons: First, that is an exceptionaly mint/complete example of the Japanese manufactured issue. Second, it's the very first issue with the firing missile launchers. 99% of the ones out there come with the launchers disabled and glued in place. That makes it pretty much the rarest variant on this toy. Wish I had seen that auction in time.

Yamato Garland For Pre-order On Rt.com
glane21 replied to Cyclone's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I sent an email to the Twin Moons service address to see if they will be coming through on their price match offer as promised. Their offer makes no caveats, and also they are for the US version as they had said in their announcement thread that the US release is the reason they could sell it so low. 378964 TwinMoons has dropped their price to $97.99. Definitely living up to their guarantee and then some! -

There are some items that can make you money by buying from any retail store and reselling on ebay. I can not tell you what the items are, so dont bother asking me or pm me. If everybody were to jump in doing the same thing, the market would flood driving the prices down dramatcally. Right now, you can go to any walmart, target, ect.........purchase these items, and in about 12 month time span, double your money on ebay. Of course, you could only buy so many of these items, but other people make $20 to $30k a year selling these items. In 1998, I would have been happy to make $30k a year and not have a 9 to 5 job. Now, my point of mentioning this is that these items would fall in under the toy catagory I guess. But, if you knew this information, would you not buy as many of these items as you could. So if you knew that the low vis valk would be up to $400 now, would you not have bought more back when they came out. That would be investing in toys wouldnt it? If you were like godzilla and had 50 low viz, you would have a small fortune right now. 378758 Buying a few $1000 of whatever at walmart and taking a year to double that investment ain't gonna make you rich.

Surprising that they are ending this show with all the JLU product that Mattel is turning out now. All those 3-packs of obscure characters. May be another Gundamesque situation where the show ends before the toyline gets going and it kills the toyline too. I don't see why having JLU would preclude having thge characters in other toylines. There are manybatman lines going at any given time, for example. Also, I'm pretty sure that WB owns cartoon network, so it is in essence their own programming. Finally, I thought the last episode I saw of Grodd trying to turn all humans into gorillas was pretty bad.

Roger from Collection DX and Toybox DX spoke with George Sohn at Toyfair. apparently part of their plan for this scale line is to make destroids and enemy mecha. Read it here: http://www.collectiondx.com/gallery/Featur...ir/2006/Toynami

Did it not include the fannel-fins that hang off the side rear backpack pieces?

True, but how do you know that raider was ever destroyed after the Caprica Sharon stole it back? Did they show it getting blown up? Could still be the same raider, repaired (with scars) and back in action.
-
Hmm, ok. I think I'll go with the latter part of your post then, as I still don't see any direct indication this is the exact same fighter... 367343 I believe that Starbuck's raider was indeed leaking green goo from a wound on it's "face" in the same vicinity of Scar's scar. You could see it in the hangar when the Chief is looking it over and the first Boomer comes up and sticks her fingers in it. Also, if the cylons stole Starbuck's ovaries then they'ed better get her on some estrogen injections pronto before she starts growing a 'stache.

Microman are 1/18 scale. You can get those 1/18 motorcycles at Walmart for a couple bucks each. Maisto makes them.

Don't get caught up in the hype and by next model year, you can snag one at a discount. People who go on waiting lists are the dealers' wet dream. Look at the goofy bastards that paid 2x sticker for a PT Cruiser which you can now buy all day at $8k. I know people see Shelby and start pissing themselves. A lot of these will be bought and immediately stored for collectabilty. But thats a bad investment IMO. Ford will crank out a ton of these compared to the production numbers on the originals. They won't be rare for a very long time.
