Ok After seeing Devin's gorgeous 1/48 I figure hey I can do that for the Joke Machine. Considering the Rohby Recast doesnt liek paint and Devin and I are making headway on the Jm decals I figure what is next? Oh yeah, easy, a Joke Machine Minmay Guard Custom. This is just a prototype custom. The tread design was plotted in photoshop, printed out and then cut and layed down. However it is not a perfect fit decal. it is jsut a large pattern that I layed down and trimmed to fit the joke machine. Also the decal material im using, Avery Paper, has a tendency to be stiff and ink scratches off easily. So anyway I planned this out so that I can hand off the designs to Devin and have him print these decals for a Joke Machine Minmay Guard Custom Decal Set. As you can see I tested out the eyepiece decal (which will be on the JM Decal sheet) as well as kneecap decals. Here they are grey but will be black on the Jm Decal Sheet. I need to correct the coloring. The dak blue should be more purple. and without further ado the pics.

Ok for some strange reason I like the VF-1J. Kinda like a big ass plush. My favorite feature is the cute SD looking pilot in the canopy. Why does Hikaru (the balding asian) have a gun? Looks like a Springfield or SV. weird.

While I commend HG on stellar packaging, I jsut dont think it is feasible. You need to look at the Demographics for Macross. At the Macross Zero Panel at the Hobby Show last summer in japan, there are no kids. Anime is geared towards a completely different group in japan. Macross is an adult show for people who love airplanes. These guys take their anime seriously. They are asking questions about the realism of the plane's designs and what not. They do not care about a book. They care about accuracy. Dont forget packaging's purpose is to entice the audience to buy it and of course proect the contents. Well they already have their fan base who knows what they want. they dont need to have fanciness to draw in people to buy them. KISS (keep it simple stupid) Its jsut another look at marketing. They decided to go for a more subdued look for their packaging. Kinda like a Glock. nothing fancy about it but it works and it works well.

Pat go back to the first page of this thread and take a look at the preliminary picture of my decals set. You will see skulls for Fokker, Hikaru, Max, and Kakizaki.

Chest intakes can do. Chest stripes can do maybe three piece. Skull is a no no. The curve of that cocoon is too much. Unless Devin has a better idea. Dont forget the heat shield is WHITE!!!!! what good is a white skull on a white heat shield.

I modded it also with Landing gears and it isnt too shabby

booohhh yeahhh!!!!! I love it!!! (Although they should have made him into the new Dodge cahrger they are planning) but who cares. I liek the different transformation sequence too. The shoulders looks nice. and the fact that it is a convertible with soft top. I ish they made a hard top snap cover but oh well.

haha this is where we screw you guys in teh butt haha. seriously though This is to be one sheet for ONE valk. I will make a supplemental sheet or we will combine it to one comprehensive sheet and raise the price. I will talk to devin about it.

Car decals are not heat activated. They jsut peel and stick. Also they are really really thick compared to the size and scale of the JM. there's different thicknesses to vinyl. And they stick more more after they've been left in the sun or if heat is applied. I should know I worked in a graphic workshop for years. They made car decals and those sign banners that you see everywhere. The heat also causes the bubbles to seep thru after a while. oh ok. But jsut think to have a two tone color like black and yellow or red and yellow you would need to put one color over the other. If you try to line it up each color being one piece it is too hard and gaps will show up. Also applying it exactly on a JM is kinda hard. Dont worry my photoshopping shall produce chest decals. and eye decals.

These decals are primarily to take one Jokemachine and turn it into one of 4 Skull squadron characters. 1. Fokker VF-1S 2. Hikaru VF-1S/A 3. Max VF-1S/A 4. Kakizaki VF-1S/A If you look at the image in the upper right hand corner, there are decals for a TV max winglets and Hikaru VF-1J shoulders. i would need elint sheet to start with to resize and ostrich

I have a decent home theater system but only have 3.1, my dad didnt want to pull/run wires for the rear. So only front L/R, Centere, and Subs. I noticed a drastic difference in sound. When switching dialogue btw people ambient sound is wacky. It will be real loud for one person but silent for the other. I dont think it is due to a simple shot reverse shot or 180 degree line where the shot is on two different people and hence physically the sound would shift directions. Its not even shifting directions. It jsut goes static to quiet.

Yeah Chest stripes are hard. I will try and figure something out. In terms of intake decals look closer my friend at teh upper right hand corner. I can do the eye pieces too. Damn you people are lazy haha j/k

Ok guys Devin sent me a pic of the first Jokemachine decal set. It looks good I have yet to get the real thing. To see the quality of Devins decal/stickers. Ok the pickle is this. According to Devin, My remastered JM decal design is so good "why bother make repro" I figure we repro to complete people's sets. But i figure the demand for those would be minimal. It would be like saying I want repro of Takatoku 1/55 stickers over Bandai Reissue decals which are better quality and legible. So its up to you. (Also this not an order poll) more of demographic research. So dont reply saying you want to be the first in line. We all know there is demand for this but we need to prioritize.

I hope they come out with Dancouga I want one but dang its pricey. Oh Darkwind, I have a Combattler V for ya if your interested/ I pmed you.

Wow that picture of it compared to teh Controller sold me. I liked how thin it was but I didnt realize how much a a foot path reduction it had.

Went to a shop here in LA sort of like the Japanese rental lockers where they have these display cases that people rent and put thier stuff in and price each item. Anyway I found some old PC Engine/Turbo Grafx 16 games. All Japanese. The best one was Knight Rider Special. It is a cheesy 80's style racing game similar to Sega's Outrun. I got a plane side scroller, Thunder Blade ( A crappy helicopter game), and the second Best is called Image Fighter. Made by irem (the people who made the current R-Type Final for PS2. It is a birds eye side scroller like the macross arcade game. great graphics. The Knight Rider game is the best cause at teh intro has a great midi of the Knight Rider theme song and there is one vocal of KITT saying "Maikuru ikimashou" (Let's Go Michael in japanese) Each game was only 6 dollars mint with original packaging and instructions.
