Graham, do you have the link for the thread that contains the details of that custom? That looks pretty sweet and I like the color used. It seems like a more accurate color and one that should've been the toy color. Anyways, if you have that link, please post it. Thanks. Jason It's in this thread! Hehe oops, I thought I was in the Macross discussion forum. The 1/48's just aren't supposed to have the same wings as the VE. I think he is asking why . . . It is wierd because you definitely see verniers firing in the opening fight scene. Perhaps those bulbous tips on the VE are used for something else? Lets not equate tint to be like limo tint or the stuff you see on Rice Rockets . . . There are a variety of films that have ~95% transmittence and almost are optically transparent. My goal is to get some optically transparent tint. This might be an option for anyone that has a collection located where windows are present. Just make sure you get the proper film if you are doing double paned windows. (They explode if you use the wrong film! )

SO, if you drive with one arm out the window that'll get burned to a crisp while the rest of you could potentially get tanned. I also imagine most car glass has more of a UV protection than standard glass since some windows have anti-shatter measures. You jeep owners are doomed. With the windows rolled up you will STILL get burned. I have proven it. UV protection for most auto glass is roughly twenty percent. No more. Window tinting, if it is good, is about 95%. ANYONE who drives a car frequently has proof right in front of them that glass does not prevent damage from sunlight. Just hold your arms out in front of you and observe which is darker/redder . . . (usually the side the wheel is on) I plan on getting a Ikea DETOLF display case and giving it a tint job . . .

Hmm, I usually classify their shipping as slow (EMS) and slower (SAL). Although I still am getting a turnaround time for an in-stock item of about 10 days shipped (EMS) to west coast USA, their preorders are much slower. Shipping costs though . . . according to my records, half of what I have paid to HLJ has been in shipping fees.

I just noticed the calendar function for the board. Wouldn't it be interesting to put Macross related dates into the calendar? It would be great to put in historical Macross dates (character bday's, events in the storyline, etc) or Have major release dates for Macross related products posted to the calendar (Yamato release dates, magazine or book release dates, etc) What does everyone think?

Sorry for the late comment, but, wouldn't it be better for the YF-19 image to not be mirrored? Seeing the text reversed is going to drive me crazy. Besides, since this is a box, you can only see one side of it at any particular time. I personally wouldn't mind having the images facing the same direction.

Here's my version. For my version, I just bent a straight piece of coathanger wire into somewhat of an H shape, which inserts into the slidewing slot of the body.
