Speaking as a fan of both... they are not "related" per se, about as related as my dining room table, made of oak, is to an Oak tree... Around here there are a wide difference of opinion between RT and Macross. Its a very fine line to walk when you talk about both in the same context. RT fans that are not fans of Macross don't last, Macross fans that are not RT fans usualy ignore the RT fans... until they spat off about Robotech and Macross in context thats biased (usualy when its toward the RT side ) (anyone keeping track, has he received more flames than I yet? Or am I still the "flame master"?)

What I would like to see (from Big West, Manga, any other licensed company that could publish a R1 subbed), is to do what the US government did back in the late 80's. Back before hackers were a dime a dozen: when hackers got caught... they did their time, when they came up for paroll they got offered Government jobs The publishing company should research out who does the good fansubs, offer them jobs! I have seen some real nice Fansubs, and I will agree with what I have heard time and time again... a lot of Fansubs are better than the "official release"

UN Spacy, I started to answer this... but the dates I remember don't add up (especially when its supposed to be just over a year from the begining of the "Rainy night" flashback to the end). I'm coming up with over a three year gap. I'm gonna suggest checking out Robotech.com and look at the Chonology section, maybe asking on their boards. FYI the fighter that Roy flew in the begining of the "Rainy Night" flashback was a pre-Robotech aircraft, your not likely going to find much info on it. There is some info on the VF-X, but I don't know where I have it... besides the fact I'm at work EDIT---- woops, I stand corrected on the fighter info

If there's nothing in deep space then there would be no objectives in deep space therefore there would be little reason to fight a battle in deep space so most battles would probably occur around planets. That's the way I see it anyway. well, here's how I see it. planet A is 100 light years from planet B both planets decide to kill each other and send out space armadas. now, you'd THINK that the armadas would probably duke it out about mid way. what happens is both armadas, big as they are, miss each other by hundreds of thousand, if not millions of miles. each armada utterly concours its enemys homeworld. several hundred years later.. planet A and planet B decide to kill each other repeat. space is just too damn big. LMAO, that’s good... now who is keeping Minmay on ice (or has she been cloned)? Now what happens if Planet B makes peace with the expeditionary force of Planet A? While B concurs A's planet... 100 years later does it attempt to concur itself?

Please don't think I'm trying to start a flame war but: Google search for: Toy Condition Grading Scale Most grading scales, regardless of the terminology, follow the pretty much the same guidelines. A toy is a toy is a toy. I chose a SW site for my example (by far more SW collectors, also clear description of conditions), not to compare SW to Mospeada. If you have a Mospeada source site that lists a different grading scale, please post it. I would like to see it.

Now I'm currious, I just took a closer look at the VT-1 on HLJ, if it was an "unarmed" trainer... why is the right hand the style that holds the GU-11? Shouldn't it be just a plain "fist" like the left?

this is like a bad echo Most of us would agree that we would like to see "references", are we going to press the subject to the point where Nanashi gives up out of frustration... hell NO! Will he likely be adding them, I can't speak for him, but I think he will. I think seeing the numerous "projects" he is working on go live for the Macross community to enjoy is more favorable than seeing "source: Macross Book Blah-Blah" at the bottom of every page.

We've already been over this. Nanashi makes up nothing. Never has, never will. You pass this off as a widely accepted fact, yet offer nothing to disprove Nanashi's claims. Ah, and now you imply that you speak for the general consensus. The old "Everyone else thinks I'm right, so you should too" bit. Look around. You're the only one here questioning the validity of his information. Sure, the masses may prefer if he cited his exact sources, but no one is assuming it came from his imagination because he has not. That's exactly why I don't like any Macross RPG sites. It's always impossible to tell where the fact ends and where the fiction begins. Everything is presented as if it's all 100% factual. Even if only 5% of any given entry is made up, who's going to be able to tell which parts are fiction? (besides Nanashi ) Thanks Valk for saying so delicatly what I have been wanting to for the last two hours. I had quite a chat with Nanashi yesterday about all the work he does, seeing Jester's post tonight just made my blood boil.

Just currious, you used Acrylics for the primary painting? The main colours are enamels. Enamels are tougher and can handle the handling during transformation. Here's the list of paints for the armour: Hardware store spraypaints sprayed into paint bottles for the airbrush: 1) Main Blue is Navy Blue mixed with Medium/Dark(?) grey. Can't give you the ratio, just kept adding till I got the desired shade. 2)Flat Black and white 3)Chrome Testors enamels(those small $1 bottles) 1)Fire Red for the booster lights(?) Tamiya Acrylics: 1)Copper for the engine highlights 2)gunmetal for the dark areas of the strike canon and the "missile doors" of the booster fronts. Future is used for the clear coating, and for the final Semi Gloss coat I mixed a 9:1 ratio of FUTURE to Tamiya acrylic flat base. Interesting, thanks Jung.

Well I'm pretty much keeping the standard grading scales in mind (I can supply you many, many links to grading scales): SWFigures.com I would classify it as a solid 9 (maaaaayyyybbbeeeee a 9.5)... i.e. NOT MINT And your right I said CROCK as in Crock of Shiznit, not crook... a crook would be someone trying to sell my '81 VW as "mint" Age and rarity in mind... it probably is worth $1000 as a 9+. My argument is the word "Mint" I see a lot of crap labeled as "Mint" on Ebay that is in no way mint "Near Mint" yes (Shelf wear is "near mint").

Well correct me if I'm wrong, but this vessel was created under a dysfunctional-"United Earth"-government. The US alone would not have been the ones to front the bill for its construction. 2 Billion for an aircraft carrier with two nuclear fission reactors, vs an aircraft carrier using 4 nuclear reactors, has dual level flight decks, and is semi-submersable? Its like comparing the $53.4mil for a B-52 bomber vs the $1.157bil for the Stealth B2. Thats an increase of 2,166.66667%! An increase like that over the Nimit, it would cost 4.333 Trillion 200billion for a Uber "Super Carrier" sounds like a steal.
