Might as well make a seperate thread for it. My initial impressions: 3-4 hours into the game so far and i see why ppl are complaining about this game. You are forced to play the story mode so that means no diverging from the main story until probably later. The story maps, suffice to say are very linear and offer little divergence. You walk in a straight line from point A to point B and that's it. You only move away from the path to get to "secret" treasure chests. Not very secret actually. The main problem people might have with the game is of course the battle system, which takes out "micromanagement" of your party. you only control Lightning. The rest of your party members automatically attack, cast spells, and heal based on their roles set by their paradigm system. So imagine you don't really need to make small decisions like "cast cure on character A" and stuff like that . I can see why most people have a problem with this system but I'm not so sure if i hate it yet. It makes you a high level decision maker rather than a low level one and it makes the battle very fast paced compared to the older FF ATB systems. The Crystanium levelling up system is also very very linear with little to offer in terms of customising your characters. The only decision you make is during leveling up with diverging crystals, which skill/stat you'll choose before the other, and that's about it. And also seems like for the 3 hours into the game so far, i spent 60% of the time watching cinematics rather than playing.

I sort of considered it Noir-lite. If you liked Noir without all the psycho babble , then Canaan will be for you. There was necrophilia as well....

I'm abit late to the party and not very sure if this is the correct thread to post about the Hi-metal VF-19 Kai, but wow bandai i'm quite impressed with the proportions and the feel of the toy despite some minor parts swapping. Very painless transformation compared to the YF-19 yamato, feels solid, and chest section locks. Loving this toy.

Finished watching Nyankoi. Typical harem series. Not great but some of the jokes are laughable.

Shouldn't the vernier fuel or whatever's that's supposedly combustible other than ammunition be provided directly by the reactor? Not sure if that changes things. And has any MS in any gundam series gone nuclear in space or is it only possible in an atmospheric environment?

The problems i have with mecha anime which includes Macross and Gundam is how every mecha tends to be depicted as if they were walking bags of gunpowder. I liked some parts in Unicorn where the funnels were tearing the MS to bits slowly. But most of the time all it takes is a single beam or missile, or beam saber slice to make a mecha explode into bits. Usually only the hero mecha has the benefit of surviving a hit without exploding, as someone else has mentioned.

Based on the demo i played, you'd have to stun the target with an initial claw attack. Then an indicator says push "x" to grab. If you grab from the front, you'll do the mouth attack. From the back you'll use your tail. Its hard to grab the target after the stun cause you only have a split second to do it.

It always seems the titular character doesn't get the star treatment doesn't it? For Index, railgun and everyone else seemed to be more of the main characters than index herself, and now the same can be said for Railgun.

This is hypothetical: Because the Zeonists are the ones who further the cause of spacenoids / newtypes, which the EF are stifling. But at the same time they hope they will not make another Zeon dictatorship. I guess its like, lets have true peace and democracy and not have another war and give everyone equal rights, sorta?

Just watched it. Very epic! Old school animation ftw!! It would help if I was actually well-versed with the key happenings in UC though. I'm not sure who are the factions fighting now. Londo Bell, Earth Federation, Viste Foundation, Sleeves, etc A tad disappointed about the unicorn's screentime which was as expected but overall pretty awesome 1s OVA. Can't wait for the next! And wow Benarghe wasn't quite emo-annoying as i expected....at least he knows Kung Fu!

Episode 45 of Full Metal Alchemist...the fight between was so spetacularly animated. Really awesome!

I hope the 1s episode you get to see more of the Unicorn in action cause i'm thinking the 40 minutes might end with the Unicorn being activated/stolen/whatever. Waiting for subs. Do you think its worth getting the BD?

I'm confused how this compares to Gurren Lagann. GL had its fair share of Fanservice too.

Then you wouldn't understand much of what's going on in Rei. Watch it from season 1. Really awesome horror/thriller/mystery series IMHO. Its parallel sequel Umineko no naku koro ni is abit too convoluted and and hard to follow imho.
