  1. That's a good point. I hope Toynami is aiming to beat Banpresto in that area too. Can anyone see any holes for fastpacks?
  2. Wow! Good idea and better job! That Gundam looks awsome. I wish I had your skill
  3. Toy collectors of the world United!!! 1) Yeah, I forgot about the size. They would be rather difficult to handle, wouldn't they? 2) I realize that, but I bet it did better than Megazone 23. Besides there's not much more to do with the Garland mold besides probably a military scheme (or a stealth version ). 3) Don't get me wrong. I love each one of my Masterpiece Alphas. I just don't like that monopolist policy of whiping every potential competitor. Competition after all benefits us consumers. If Yamato didn't made the 1/48 VF-1 line, I'd have to buy the Masterpiece edition ones. Yamato won my buck with a better product, and that's fair. 4) I totally agree with you on this. I've never owned a Gakken, and never will if they cost less than a Banpresto (and I have a few ).
  4. Sorry, I didn't know Toynazi hold the worldwide rights for Mospeada. That sucks. I bet they KNEW any japanese manufacturer would do better Legioss than theirs. I hope they do at least 1/100 versions to match their upcoming VF-1 line. By the way, does anybody knows if Toynami showed the Beta-Tread at the latest NY ToyFair? This is getting closer and closer to vaporwear.
  5. The 1/100 feature a sleek "behind the cockpit" section (unlike the Masterpiece edition), nice panel detail, detailed gunpod barrel and (get a load of this), Kneepads! If their arms don't fall off your hands (like the Banprestos) and there's a destroids and enemy mecha line behind, I might buy the whole line. It would make a very nice display next to the Köenig. Do you think they plan on doing a Monster for this line also? (here's dreaming away ). As for the Hikaru. I think the pricetag is a bit hefty, but hell, is the first Macross doll line ever! By the way: don't get surprised if they release a pilot set with helmet later on. That would explain the choose of the blue suit. Good news is we have Macross goodness for years to come Edit: When is the doll supposed to be released?
  6. Yeah. I wonder what stops Yamato from making a better Legioss line.
  7. To have to start up 24 chainsaw engines each time you want to ride that thing must be a bugger. As for the Akira bike. Here's a couple of pics I found about those support electric engines in the hubs of the wheels that some people were talking about in this tread. These are the invention of this swiss dude. I don't remember where I read the article and get the pics, but I've read that he's already experimenting with possible applications on new vehicles. I don't know about you, but I always dreamed of a segment of sleek streetfighter-style bikes were the rider leans on his back.
  8. I long for an Enigma scheme on a 1/48 since I first saw it on a Hase. I don't know if this is possible on a toy. Probably too expensive for tampo printing? Any experts? As for the head, well I don't have any 1a yet so this might be a good chance. Actually I was considering on buying a Low Vis, I'm glad I didn't.
  9. Please, oh please, make it a Enigma scheme this time (kneeling).
  10. I get two extra of each: large and small.
  11. Thanks for the update, Fort Max. I don't care if it costs me a ghoulie and half the other. As I said this is my most anticipated toy and I shall have it, dammit!!!
  12. I'm not a joke machine lover either, but I'm considering very seriously to get one of each!
  13. I just get mine yesterday, along with my 1j to go with it. It's soooo cool. One question tho': I've noticed stress marks in one of the butterfly door's hinge straight from the box. Anybody else noticed this or should I blame the mexican customs? Anyway I just placed the chest missiles as recommended on this tread: very carefully, in angle and rotating the piece. No problem at all. The holes for the missiles are tighter than those in the legs, hence the trouble.
  14. This is my most anticipated toy so I'm going to buy it tho' I'm not very happy with the shape of the front wheel. Does anybody knows what happened with the Maxfactory Garland? That one looked very promising too.
  15. Somebody made a variable König Monster too. It was shown in these forums a while back (or was I hallucinating?).
  16. Sorry, Sithlord, not yet. BTW: Is any of our gifted Macrossworlders here a web designer? I can pay Seriously now, I do need a homepage. I understand youre an artist too. Do you have a website? About you, Ali Sama? I didn't know there were so many comic makers around here. Or pilots We should share our work in another tread.
  17. Ordered mine last monday from Blasto! plus a second edition Hikaru 1J to go with it. If we don't have tradition, we have nothing
  18. I was wondering what you do for a living since I first learned about your collection Thanks for the info, it's a bit late to me to change my career tho'
  19. This tread gets surreal at times, doesn't it? I know, I know, but who owns the licence for Macross comic books?? The mecha series I'm planning is an original story that I hope to make into a franchise someday. Here's my latest gig: http://www.darkhorse.com/profile/profile.php?sku=13-692 I'll let you guys know when the book is out so you all can buy it (more royalties, more valks ).
  20. Wow! It's encouraging to learn that most of us actually have a life And interesting ones also! I'm a comic books artist and writer for Dark Horse Comics. My editor learned that I am a Star Wars fan and since then I draw Star Wars stuff. I had a nice talk with Ben Abernathy, the Robotech comics editor, and asked him for a chance to do some Robotech art but the creative team was already asembled. Nevermind, I'm finally beginning my own mecha series this year
  21. Hey! It'll be a good idea to make a tread about oversized toys. The Lego Republic Cruiser comes to mind, but it has been already posted. I'll think on something else Edit: I just remembered this: http://www.totalmodel.com/military/pages/military_72.shtml
  22. We sooo need a Yamato pod
  23. I get all four and I'm very happy with them. I guess I was lucky. I hope I didn't ran out of luck by the time I gget the Betas The Voltron looks awsome, but I'm not ggetting it, not my kinda stuff. Like Graham said, give me military mecha any day.
  24. Sold! You got me at "DYRL Roy"
