I think most people here agrees with you on this. Must of us can't afford EVERY toy Yamato produces and IMO that's why all the fuss about these releases: to know exactly what Yamato is trying to sell us and to decide what to buy and what to skip. If the shown Shin version is definitive, for instance, I'd be really pissed if I had purchased the Cannon Fodder, cause as far as we know, they're almost the same.

I was hoping for Yamato to do an Enigma version since the first custom I saw. I'm sold on the new GBP anyway, it's the best Macross repaint in a long time. Another good reason to make a brand new VF-1 to go along with it.

Yamato will probably claim little demand to pump up the SRP of a toy that clearly isn't as complex as the VF-1 FP set. I'm expecting the price to be around the FP if not a bit higher.

Green would be sweet, but what I'd really love is the paint to have a dull finish unlike the red version that's supposed to be shiny. What I'll never understand is why Yamato didn't made a fully articulated Shogo like the Chirico Cuvie figure that is amazing.

Yay! This is great news! My Garland is holding fine, so I'm definitely getting the repaint. I always thought that the Garland always looked better in military colors, besides I intend to dress it up with some of Devin's custom decals. Damn, I'm such a Garland fanboy I'd even buy a Low vis Version! So when is this one supposed to be released? Edit: Nevermind. The link says March 2007. Hey, good work there, Drifand! Hmm, dark brown. Good suggestion. I've seen people around here using some redish paint for panel line their Valks that looks way better than the flat black Gundam markers. Maybe this is it. Where can I buy those?

The comic was released a week early. I apologize if there are those of you who were holding of until this week to go to the store. This kind of thing happen some times, but usually in the other direction.

I'n not an expert, but I think that Tomcat is from the "Jolly Rogers", a pretty famous squadron actually. They even shoot down some Zeros in the 1980 science fiction movie "The Final Countdown", tho' I'm not sure if they've seen any action besides that It's the same skull design of the "Skull Leader" from Macross, so it's safe to say that Kawamori drew some inspiration from the plane AND the markings.

I'd love to have a nice SDF 1, but this one is not it: too small and too expensive. Besides we don't know anything about the toy yet and there's too many things that can go wrong, like the arms. I'll just wait for a better rendition, there's plenty of Macross goodies to keep me busy for now

I'm sorry to hear that. I bought and used your stuff and now I can't imagine my future toys without your decals. Of course that you have my complete support on this, it's nobody's fault, but sounds like the end of an era.

Thanks for the kind words, Radd. There might be more Tag & bInk in the future. I talked to Kevin about doing a Source Book a la "SW Visual Encyclopedia", and there's another ideas in the air, so who knows. A reader once suggested a set of bookends should be done
