  1. Has Kawamori's variable tank from FLAG been mentioned yet? I don't have any pics around and I'm too lazy to make a screencap, but you know wich one I'm talking about, right?
  2. I think the real problem is printing Macross 7 on the box, not the design and probably not the paint scheme. Yamato could issue Macross 7 repaints (I think), without advertising it as a Macross 7 toy, but somehow I don't see it happening. A VFX VF-22 is good enough for me. For those with enough skill or money there's always the custom option
  3. Hey Anavel. First off, I sympathize with your case dude. Now, is it yours a Shin or a cannon fodder? I'm asking because there's the feeling that the Shin is less prone to breakeage than the CF and the 0s.
  4. The prodigal son returns
  5. For a second there I thought they were old proto pics from Yamato. That front wheel is the same chunky one as Yamato's. So these are model kits? Are they the same scale as Yamato's Garland? And how come this Garland can store the gun and Yamato's can't?
  6. The best way to know wich Garland you're getting is transforming it and check on the shoulder locking mechanism: the older shoulders have two locking positions for the arm wereas the newer version has only one "click". As for international orders, I asked for replacement shoulders from Yamato USA and I they arrived to my door here in Mexico City safe and sound
  7. I think the reason why the first movie is a cult classic is precisely because there aren't many explanations about it. There's no need for them. You realize that there's a whole cosmogony working behind it, but you can see it and that's what so cool about it. I think it's sad that the people that picked the licence up has always tried to take advantage of the apparent lack of rules, as you put it, instead of just focusing on telling good stories. Who cares if Connor McLeod comes from another planet? I don't wanna know. Explanations like that merely banalizes the coolness of the immortals and their drama.
  8. A Stealth Garland! I wonder how'd Yamato missed that one. I wonder if we'll see also Low Vis and Urban Camo repaints
  9. Keep on doing sequels, TV shows or cartoons I don't care. I can check them out and have a laugh. There's no conflict for me. For me there's only one Highlander. In my mind, everything else is non canon
  10. Only the first two repaints appeared in the movie. This sort of a "The Fast and The Furious" repaint is just to milk the mold. I have my Military issue on hold for other items to arrive at Twinmoons, so I couldn't tell, but I did ordered replacement shoulders for the red one and so far so good. Those were slightly redesigned and the breaking piece seem to be made from a less brittle plastic.
  11. That trailer pretty much tells it all doesn't it? I hope the movie is a long one. Robert Downey Jr. is always a pleasure to watch. He can give personality even to a boring stablishment superhero like Tony Stark. I wonder how he'd play Captain America or Superman.
  12. I'd like a Bioroid with hover platform and pilot action figure of all Southern Cross designs. The Earth stuff is so lame IMHO.
  13. Agreed. I'll keep checking this tread for new reports, but I'll wait for a second release. The Ivanov seems to have sold really well so far, so I'll bet for a second issue to be released soon.
  14. Finallysome Slave mode pics. Thanks, Konimon. I agree with you: Yamato can do better on the figures. I've been waiting for them to make some nice aftermarket ones (it'd be a mean marketing move, but a smart one), but so far nothing. Maybe they're waiting to release all Garland versions to sell those separately afterwards. Edit: I still don't dig the legs attached to the upper torso idea. If the legs were attached to the hip we could had have a nice waist articulation
  15. I hope it's not that. Another VF-1 repaint doesn't justify this thread IMO. Unless it comes with a Zentraedi officer coat and cap and little figures to fit in the pocket
  16. So far, so good. The wings sagging seems to be the biggest flaw and it's easily fixed. A few posts more and I'll begin to feel tempted to get this release I wonder if Yamto have plans on fix the weak missile clips on future releases tho'.
  17. Me too. I'm one of the weirdos that prefer the VF-2ss over the VF-4 and even the Nightmare
  18. I think that the 19 is pretty much "done" from Yamato's POV. There's not much left to improve after the second release, except for the locking chest in Batt mode, but I doubt they'll change that, so I decided to order the FP bundle, but that's because I have to own at least one cannon scheme of every Valk. If you're not a cannon nazi, I'd say wait for a repaint. Graham said Yamato is interested in the orange Super Nova and a Stealth version is a sure thing, given all the model and toy customs out there and the fact that Yamato has already made a Stealth before.
  19. Depends on how well does the game, probably, so let's hope the japanese dig it
  20. So far, the flaws are what I've had expected, but I think there's still a lot to be discovered.
  21. With all the attention on the SV-51 these days, has anybody bothered to check out the hobby mags for more YF-21 info?
  22. Agreed. Yamato will do what they think it will make money. That's what they do. If some day down the road they realize that a 1/48 two seater is a good bussines idea, they won't stop just because they said they'd never do it. Same goes with other Valks they said they're not interested in. Right now thy're focused on Mac+ and Zero, but as mexicans say: "There's more time than life".
  23. Don't you love those guys that appear from nowhere and fixes the anal neurosis of an entire internet community with their wisdom and common sense? Seriously, squidd (if that's your real name ), you're entitled to your opinions and you're free to express them like all of us do, but assuming we'll all be illuminated and think like you do just because you talk like a motivational manager is not right. We all have Yamatos, and we all feel different about them. I agree with some of your points of view, it's the way you express them I can't agree with. If you're in peace with your "collectibles", good for you, say so and surely a few guys around here will agree with you and probably someone even chooses to change his mind about theirs, but don't tell people what should they feel about theirs or the money they pay for them. BoB, for instance, is our resident troll, but nobody here ever censors him. What I like about MW is that we're not about sides here. I think we should keep it that way
  24. Meh. Looks like a big gashapon to me. Although if they made a GBP version I might pick one up, a GBP equipped Valk is not meant to transfom anyway, so I wont feel I bought a Valk that cannot transform , besides it would look cool suspended on the stand with all the missile hatches open.
