  1. I skipped on the CMs' for that reason: Way overpriced for what they are. If they only got some basic things right like the Legioss' shoulders, the linkup with the Beta or the wonky legs, I would've bought it regardless of the price. Also if the toy was a lot cheaper I could've overseen those flaws, but as it is I'd feel gypped buying them. With the current Mospeada revival, and all the feedback from fans around the world about Toynami/Aoshima and CMs, it's a matter of time until another company picks up the globe. Right now we have three companies producing Ridearmors simultaneously, so there's hope.
  2. Obviously Yamato's aim at the collectors with a taste for large toys. I just hope they include a nice pilot figure with it. I think a pilot figure with limited poseability is not much to ask at that scale, it'd be something new for Yamato tho'.
  3. Houquet's should look better balanced, since her feet are thinner anyway. What worries me about the Toynami release is the "Yune heads" for the rest of the characters. The Lancer on the box of the Masterpiece Alpha looks nothing like Lancer, and I bet they screw Houquet's head too. I realize it's a long way off and that by then probably Toynami would've forgot the exclusive head nonsense or lost the license anyway.
  4. I wonder what happened to the Aliens line.
  5. It never cease to amaze me, with Yamato it's never a matter of if a reported breaking part will break on your toy or not, it's a matter of when: Back in the day, when everybody here were discussing the breaking hips on the VF-11b I was like "Poor bastards, mine is perfect, no stress marks, no nothing". Then one day I picked it up it from its box and both legs stayed in the box.
  6. I assumed that much from the start. Despite what George Sohn says, it's obvious that the Alpha was never meant to connect to a Beta. It's too heavy and lacks connecting ports. As it is I'm surprised they actually made a Beta that can connect with the Alpha if a bit precariously. It's a shame. Still, I'll put my money in a Beta or two (if they're ever get released) instead of the CM's version, as I wait for another company to commit to a more serious Alpha/Beta linkup.
  7. Yeah, I'd like to see a list of the problems found so far, if that's possible. I'm late to the party and I'm curious. Graham mentioned a crooked skull emblem on one fin. I also read about a shoulder falling off. Anything else?
  8. Yeah, I was talking about OmegaBlue, but not about his opinion. And yeah, to me "don't be a dick" qualifies as name calling.
  9. You gotta love those guys that think they can censor others because they have such a sensible point view, but shortly after they get all worked up and start discrediting people and calling names. People who can't stand pluralism of ideas shouldn't join discussion boards and end up telling people what to think, what to feel or what to say about a matter that's opened for public discusson.
  10. Ok, so on Toynami's part what we have so far is: -MH Ridearmor Yellow ver. - December release. -Beagle Ridearmor packed with exclusive Tommy Yune head in Toynami bookstyle packaging (and Endoskellington™) - "End of the year, possibly we'll have it for Christmas" release. -1/55 Telescopic and resculpted head upgrade and previously unreleased versions - Pending on public's feedback. -1/100 Regult - Pending on public's feedback. -1/100 GBP - No release date. -1/100 Series 4 and weapons set - No release date. -Betas - No release date (The Betas aren't listed at Twinmoons anymore and no sign on them at RT.com either BTW) I wonder where this guy makes the money from? Did George said that the connecting piece slides back IN the Beta? There's a second connecting piece for Battroid mode, that couldn't possibly slide in, but the fighter connecting piece looks too long for that too. I also find curious that nobody asked him about the Beta release date.
  11. When I first saw Tron as a kid, I realized it wasn't your typical Disney summer flick, like the Love Bug, for instance. The script and the pace were obviously on the adult side whereas the visuals were a delight for me. But that's the reason why I still enjoy Tron, it works at many levels. Apparently back then Disney didn't have the precise content outlines for their movies they have today, other than no explicit torture, bestiality or coprophagia.
  12. That's what I've been saying all along. WB won't get sued for using existing mecha, simply because they'd never do that anyway: Hollywood has its own concept design industry and that's an industry Hollywood has to feed. That said I'd love to see a reimagining of the Alpha/Beta and Cyclone concepts, but not with shiny pistons and hoses showing everywhere, please. As for Hiring Kawamori, or any other famous designer from the period, it would depend on if Tobey McGuire (or HG, I'm kinda lost here) thinks high of them enough to persuade WB executives to get them on the project whatever the cost.
  13. Don't forget the Toynami Beta preorder price fiasco. I do hope Toynami'll be able to offer the Beagle Ridearmor for less that the Japan SMRP, but is that even possible? I mean if the toy costs 200 in Japan, it should cost the same State side. Granted you save a lot of money in shipping and customs, but you still have to pay the 200 dollars, right? "Exclusive head" means that the Toynami version will have an extra helmet-less swappable head that the japanese release will not have? I hope it's not a smiling one this time.
  14. All I care about a Robocop remake is a good enemy robot, like ED or Cain. That, Hollywood can accomplish no problem. I'm not as optimistic script wise, so I'm not holding my breath there. Damn, What a cynic I've become.
  15. Yeah, but you have to build and paint it
  16. Oh, that was so sweet! Thanks, Alpha. Sabretooth need more hair and bigger fangs IMO. A bigger actor would've been nice too, but I'm always on the cartoony side. Edit: I just noticed Gambit and Apha Flight. There's also a frozen guy. I've heard that there was a cut scene in the new Hulk movie where Bruce Banner, stranded in Antartica apparently to let himself die, finds Captain America frozen in an iceberg. Could this be him?
  17. I loved that Batpod. Is it Bandai's? Looks like a reimagining of the think, the actual Batpod does not have that big a$$ exhaust behind the seat. Looks cool tho'. I wonder what scale it is.
  18. All we have is the bootleg of a teaser and I already can't wait for the toys!
  19. Hmm. Small tires again. I don't like where this is going. I was hoping for the second Stig and Rey run to sport the big tires, but now I dunno. I like stealth schemes as much the next guy, but that solid black is not very appealing.
  20. So Toymnami is widening the 1/100 line. Smart move. I'll be all over it if we get some playsets like those. As for the Regults, I think I'll stick with the Revos. Should be around the same size anyway. That Shadow Fighter connected with the Beta is new? I haven't took a look at my Shadow in quite a while, but the paint scheme looks different. Much better than the "Shadow Chronicles" ones. Edit: What's that Chamberlain story? Is it a toy? Is it a sculpture? Is that dress made of cloth? Who's making it? Will there be more Skeksis? What about Jen and Kira? AAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!! Where's EXO? I'm dying here!
  21. Next year for sure. I'll even have a new book to show off. Find me at the Dark Horse booth
