Even MORE remake madness.......
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hmmm. I keep getting a malware warning window with that link. Is there any other place where I can check this out? -
Bubblegum Crisis to Go Live-Action
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
That tiny little pic in the upcoming titles section? I can't even figure out what it is. So far they have three titles under their belt, all animated CGI movies for kids. Not very promising. -
Bubblegum Crisis to Go Live-Action
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yup. That's the one. I had the same thought. The original creative team seems to be more willing to revisit Mospeada than BGC, given all the Mospeada redesigns floating around. -
Star Wars toys
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Ah, Shin to the rescue. Thanks again, dude. Gotta get that MF Battle Pack at my local SW importer. Some retailers are listing it as December release. The Sarlacc is a Target exclusive and goes for 60, looks like there's a new line of small playsets coming up and all will include three figures: http://www.toybender.com/sdcc-08-star-wars-goodness-part-2/ The "Lars Homestead" looks neat if a tad too small, but the Sarlacc one looks like a vagina. -
Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!

I think the small drawing in the left is a concept for Rey's bike, when he and Stig first meet. -

That's just the conceptual art. The actual bike is still in the works: http://www.bbb-bike.com/mospeada/index.html -
Star Wars toys
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shin Densetsu Kai 7.0's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I just found this pics from a japanese toys mag and I was wondering about that Luke, Obi One, R2 and 3PO line up, since Shin mentioned something about a MF Battle Pack a while ago. I went to the Hasbro site, but couldn't find them in the release schedule. I'm also curious about that Sarlacc playset. Will include the skiff and figures? And what's that Storm Trooper figure on the bottom corner? Looks sweet. Any info will be appreciated: http://www.toy-world.com.hk/maga/fk/03_2008/079.html -
Bubblegum Crisis to Go Live-Action
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hope it ends up looking better than that B version of Appleseed I've seen some vids about. I wonder if that was even released. Anyway, I also have my doubts about this. I don't see Hollywood making a convincing movie about powered suits and transforming bikes, let alone some HK studio. -
Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
So if I understand correctly, Shinji Aramaki and this guy, who's obviously a custom bikes designer, are working on a mospeadish looking real life motorcycle? Cool! Doesn't look like Aramaki aimed at a variable design tho'. The helmet is definitely Megazone 23. -
Official Bandai 1/60 Scale DX Toy Thread Ver.2
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Graham's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Now THAT looks like a Kawamori design! I love the proportions of the drawing. Looks much more solid and bad ass. If the CG model would've look anything like that I would've probably be in the DX's preorders list. -
Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Seems like Toynami never produced or released the whole lot anyway, so they could easily put some more on the market to meet the new demand without upsetting the collectors. Personally I'd prefer a whole new fixed edition without all the useless die cast and the fancy book style box. I also hope the Beta won't have much die cast either. Now where's my MH Houquet?! -
Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Don't forget to get a third for Gerwalk and a fourth for Fighter with the landing gear down. I like the 1/100 scale as much as the next guy, but Toynami's VF-1 is as far as I go when it comes to part swapping. If Bandai ever releases the VF-2ss I'll have no choice but to to get a whole wing of them. In this case, if I was so fond of the 25, I'd get the DX instead. It looks the same and at least that one is PT. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I still think they could've done small tweaks here and there to better balance the overall looks of each mode despite the anime magic problem: Bigger feet would've made a world of difference in Battroid and "Gawok" without making Fighter suffer, for instance. -
Military (real) Mecha Anime VS Super Robot Anime
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to AIRMAG's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm in the real robot group too, but I guess is a matter of taste. The super robot genre has it's own charm, like the flashy designs and the one-of-a-kind-mecha thing. I guess Evangelion is another good example of a Super Robot anime with enough realism to please both crowds. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development

Agreed. My dream display is a large 1/6 SDF-1 hangar bay diorama for all my Macross mecha. -
The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread

Drifand, you rock! Thanks for the sketch. I got it clearer now. We should have recasts available since I don't have that many action bases to salvage.- 1056 replies

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I want to see more pics, but so far I like it. Not a huge fan of the 11 design (specially the shoulder plates idea) but, like Pete said, it should be a fun toy to play with and I want the whole Mac+ lineup, Ghost and enemy mecha included, if they ever make those. -
Or a poseable Miriya figure a la Chirico Cuvie

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Great work as usual, Drif. I completely agree with the gun holder philosophy. Gotta do me a few for all my three G's. Can you post a pic of the Action Base's user manual to see which pieces you used? Just in case I can't figure out myself- 1056 replies

Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Thanks to Save for the pics (the lucky bastard). One observation tho': What's with Stig's expression on the helmetless head? Seems to be about to burst a laugh. I hope the Toynami version has a better dead serious expression. -
The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm pretty satisfied with what Yamato did, considering that back in the "Robotech: The Untold Story" days I'd never imagine owning a Garland toy in my wildest dreams. But yeah, the Yamato Garland is far from perfect. QC issues aside I would've loved a fully poseable pilot figure with each release and I was always a detractor of magnets in transforming toys. (Actually, I'm planning on replacing those weak ass magnets for pegs. Shouldn't be so hard to accomplish if not for those hidden screws on the legs). I'm afraid we'll have to wait a few more years for another company to pick up the franchise again.- 1056 replies

Bubblegum Crisis Toys
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to the_foul_fowl's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Thanks, TSP. I like the muscular looks of the bike, but Slave mode is fugly, looks as if it was wearing a diaper or something. Priss have some hips! Another Pork Chop.- 881 replies

The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Wow! You've got the worst Garland ever. Yours even have issues no one has reported before. I guess you're still lucky since you've spent all your "quota of Yamato luck" on one single toy. Most of us have the issues scattered all over our collections- 1056 replies

Yeah. I'd love to get the weathered version, but first I'd like to know if we'll get wheatered versions of the other destroids too and if those will be easily available worldwide. It would be lame to have some Destroids weathered and some not.
