2012 - The end is coming........again!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to taksraven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
People with little imagination like Roland Emmerich are always pushing the visuals to win the box office, but this is too ridiculous to be even funny. What's next? A planet sized bucket of water from outer space pours over the Earth? -
Star Wars toys

That's a very sweet Clone Troopers battle pack. Coincidentally, I finally got around to playing Battlefront II, so I find this set very tempting, dammit. -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I have mi gripes, but I think fighter mode is pretty spot on. Granted the nose in the lineart is quite bigger and bulbous, but maybe that's due to Kawamori's trademark fisheyed fighters. Methinks that exact nose in the toy would've looked too goofy. Nothing can be done about the tailfins tho'. -
Cool! Can't wait to see those. Thanks a lot for the directions. Someday I'll get around to do my 1/60 SDF-1 Hangar Bay mega-display.

Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!

My only concern at this point is the hip hinge. It's too tiny. If it endures the weight of the massive torso without breaking, will it hold a stand up pose without the torso swinging back and forth? -
Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
I understand Vostok's feelings: I felt very disappointed at the 1/60 YF-21 for similar reasons: Unlike Vostok, I'm a Battroid person and the 21 is my fave Battroid ever. That time around Yamato favored fighter mode, wich made Battroid suffer quite a bit, so I decide to pass on it out of pure scorn. Now I just want the whole Mac+ line, so I'll get the 21 eventually regardless. -
Maybe, I've seen that skull somewhere before, but it was your member name that gave you away. With Ignacio Ocamica there's at least three of us here that I know of. Welcome to MW

Bandai/Tamashi Nations 1/100 lineup. 2009 takeoff!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to UN Spacy's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
It is, but let's not forget it's also the first rendition that features PT ever, and it's quite big and hi-techie. Besides, I don't recall seeing the front shocks working as powered arms in the anime, the way they do in the Beagle toy. Anyway, back on topic, I agree with protostar: MH Ridearmors and 1/100 VF-25's are two very different things. I don't like part swapping at all, but the Ridermors make up for the part swapping in many ways IMHO. -
I have one on preorder. I hope Yamato won't come out with another cool color scheme or I'll be broke before the Spartan comes out. I'm having a tough time with the Olive Drab Tomahawk already.

Sebastian always goes for the subtle approach. I still have the pics of his Scope Dog in my customs folder, so I can do the same to my Dog one day. BTW, Sebastian: Which color did you used for the shading of the Tomahawk? Is it a black, gray or a darker brown? Did you clear coated the thing afterwards? Thanks.

Beautiful. I love the leg art. Did you disassemble the whole thing to retouch it? Also the guns look great, did you repaint those?

YESSSS! Here you go, mate: http://www.yamato-toys.com/dev/cont_066/index_2.html Have fun.

Okay, so the D-fender pilot is bigger than the Tomo one, which means the Tomo pilot is smaller than all previous 1/60 pilots. As for the color, it seems like Yamato didn't know which color to use since the Defender's colors kept changing from episode to episode, so they tried several hues on Photoshop. Too bad the article doesn't say which color they chose in the end. Personally I like the more orange color of the box. Edit: Hey, Lobizon. Are you from Argentina too?
-
Yeah, this whole color and pilot size thing is killing me. Not to be nitpicky, but these aren't exactly cheap Matchbox stuff.

Interesting, I'd like to see pics of that. If anybody here buys it or finds it in a toy store, please post pics, I'm very curious. HLJ only lists the Bartley, Blowsuperior and Shinobu. Edit: It also lists the 21 and 31 as december release Could this be the dark versions or rereleases of Stig and Rey's? -
Now that Yamato is out of the Frontier game. they'll have to focus on the licenses they do hold, so the Cheyenne's is a good possibility. Then again, there's still so much mecha to be made from Macross Plus, SDF, DYRL and Zero, it may take a while.

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
That seems to be case. And since the landing gear stores in the neck section, there's plenty of room for that gimmick. Beisdes, if you check this pic carefully, there's a tiny bit of the heatshield peeking from underneath the front of the cockpit. Obviously the heatshield is stored in the nose in F mode. -

That must be why T2 is my Mom's favorite movie along with Green Fried Tomatoes. -

They're not even trying: How hard would've been for Toynami to simply cast the Sterling hands in good old PVC? Could it be George Sohn is still unaware of the thousands of complaints about breaking hands? -
So people here actually ordered the weathered version? Can you guys post pics? I decided on the regular and OD and since both sport a showroom finish, I thought displaying them next to a Tomahawk that looks like it was abandoned at the Universal Studios lot for twenty years, would look too weird. That and having three Tomahawks is too much for me. Hell, two of the same is an excess! I do dig the weathered version quite a bit tho'.

Military (real) Mecha Anime VS Super Robot Anime
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to AIRMAG's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I hope they turn towards Mospeada eventually. It would be nice to have Bandai or Yamato giving a shot at the Legioss/TREAD combo. Personally, I'd go with Yamato, given the amazing job they have done with the VF-1, but it'd be nice to see Banda¡ giving them the SPEC treatment too. -
Hey! How come my Revoltech Helldiver didn't included that booster backpack?

That and the love sub plot. T2 is the only action flick I can think of without one. -

The Dark Exclusive looks bad ass, but I can't stand the little wheels. Too bad nothing can be done for Rey and Stig's bikes. Perhaps Megahouse should pack sets of bigger wheels on future releases like CM's did with their helmetless heads. -
Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!

Great scoop, Shun. I'm definitely getting one. For a second there I was about to pay a premium for the exclusive version, but the big wheels (and the price) made the difference for me.
