Ride Armors, Legioss and Treads! Oh my!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to EXO's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
Does anybody know of a good set of hands to replace the bound-to-break rubber ones? I'm thinking on a Gundam set of hands for instance, that matches the good size and sculpt of the originals. -
Same here. I hated the compromises of the 21 and 19, because both have such beautiful Battroid modes, but the VF-4 Battroid is wonky and ugly anyway, so if it's PT and has a good fighter mode, I don't give a damn about the compromises.

The Köenig was already made. Yamato merely adapted the existing 1/100 resin kit to toy form. Check them side by side and you'll see they're exactly the same, so my guess is that Yamato saw a way to make a quick buck by cutting out design, sculpt and engineering from the budget. I'm guessing that Yamato is not thrilled by the cost/profit relation of making a VF-4 now that they're making a pretty penny from the VF-1, for example. Maybe once they dry out the VF-1 molds they'll be more willing to reconsider less popular designs. It could also happen that Yamato grows big enough to indulge themselves producing rare collector's items. I, for one, would kill for a 1/60 VF-2ss with SAP. Oh man, I just came.

So much for my Destroids thread entering the forum's hall of fame. Anyway, I agree, we should probably have a thread for each model, not for each color variant tho'. That'd be a nightmare. BTW: We keep posting the same pic of the Monster over and over. Was that the only pic taken on that show?

Blame the 19 dudes that voted against it. They hate this community and all that it represents. They're Macross haters! They're anti-Macross terrorists!! Sorry, I don't handle frustration very well Seriously now. It's a nice design and everything, but we should see this from Yamato's standpoint: Maybe the 4 is a bit too complex and expensive to produce for such an obscure mecha. I'm not saying it wouldn't sell, but maybe Yamato thinks it isn't such a good bussiness.

Sure! As long as you don't ask me to send you actual drawings (it's still a long way to the presses), we can talk about it all you want. I love discussing transforming bikes

Actually, I'm working on my first author comic book which features a variable bike designed by me. I'm not supposed to show any of it at the moment, but I'll make an announcement when the book is out

Yamato 1/60 VF-11b under development
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Shaggydog's topic in Hall Of The Super Topics
With the Destroid line going on (there are only two Destroids out with SIX color variants announced so far, and more Destroids and variants coming up), and the VF-1 2.0 line, Yamato must have it's hands full at the moment. Once the dust settles down a bit I'm sure Yamato will get back to the Mac+ molds. -
Looks nice, but I'm glad I decided not to get weathered versions on any Destroid when the weathered Tomo was first announced. I can't believe just how much money I'm saving right now Now if Yamato announces a good new scheme for the Defender I may be in trouble. Just no more OD's, Yamato please.

Nice! Thanks wolfx. I couldn't find any subbed versions, but I like the story so far. BTW, I found a few pics of a model of this sometime ago not knowing what it was, and since I'm a variable bikes nut I kept them for future reference:

I did a quick search of the Avenger and found this. The modeler claims that this is called the Tie Avenger, tho' IMHO, his version is way cooler. Actually, I think this is the best Tie I've ever seen along with the Interceptor. -

Give him time to polish the rough edges with Yamato first. We still don't know why they stopped talking to Graham in the first place. -

Seeing how the Maia Sterling turned out QC-wise, I wouldn't be surprised if an eventual second run the Blue Alpha would only make the original release more collectable and expensive over the years. -

Is there any good 1/6 Speeder bike with Scout Trooper set other than the old Hasbro one? And is Hasbro's any good detail and sculpt-wise? -

It's a great idea. I'll send you my numbers as soon as I find the time to dig out my Alphas. -

You mean the sticker sheet for the Megahouses: You get a MH Stick, slap the mustache and sunglasses over Stig's face and voilá, you have a Jonathan Wolf custom. -

Looks like the stand alone Obi has the brown fabric robe whereas the passengers set one hasn't. Bummer. Hasbro strikes again -
I for one, would prefer a hollow Monster with as little features as good poseability and opening cockpit. Maybe even a revealing engine but that's it. There's no point in making a huge Monster crammed with features and details if the cost of the many molds and the weight makes it unaffordable.

The Alpha keeps getting worse with every release. The Shadow Chronicles one has even worse QC than the Aoshimas. I was hoping for a cheaper all plastic mass produced Toynami Alpha, but now I'm not sure. It seems like Toynami just can't handle it. As it is, I'm glad I picked the original four MPC Alphas. I was lucky with those, specially with the Shadow, it seems the sturdier of them all. -
Yamato seriously needs to issue a ground crew kit or two for the 1/60 line with vehicles and stuff. I hope that the little figures packed with the Destroids mean a step in that direction and I bet that Yamato has thought about it more than once. A hangar bay diorama would be fantastic too, but I'm trying to keep it realistic.

Thanks dude. This kit sounds like my kind of stuff: A kit to quick mod and fiddle with. Beisdes, this is from an era when Battroid mode was first and I'm all about Battroid. I'll start looking for one soon
