Poll: Yamato 1/60 Legioss/TREAD Combo
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Lonely Soldier Boy's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Yeah, probably. Yamato could just tweak the scale or toss it altogether and make it the size they feel it's better, doesn't matter to me really. -
Hello, Macrossworld's Mospeada fans and sympatizers. Since the current offerings of the Legioss and TREAD fell short to today's standards and Graham is meeting with the Yamato guys in a few days to propose a list of MW's favorite Macross VF to be made in 1/60 scale (Linky), I decided to open a poll here to gauge interest in a brand new Legioss/TREAD combo line made by them. I realize it's a really long shot, but what do we have to loose? So vote away, my fellow Mospeada lovers, and Godspeed!

Hey, since Graham is meeting with the Yamato guys in a few days to propose a list of MW's favorite Macross transforming mecha to be made in 1/60 scale (linky), I was thinking on opening a poll here at the "other anime" section to gauge interest in Yamato doing a new Legioss/TREAD combo. The options would be something in the lines of: -Yes, please Yamato, I swear I'll preorder multiples of each variant!!! -Nah! I'll wait for Bandai to make a decent DX version. They have far more craft and experience. -What the heck is that Mospeada you guys keep talking about? What do you guys think? -
Poll - which 1/60 VF would you like to see next from Yamato?

Voted 2ss as well. I'm glad we're in the majority tho' I have the feeling Yamato won't be thrilled about it. I bet they would've felt more comfortable with us voting massively for the VF-19. Don't get me wrong, I'd buy any of the valks of that list eventually and even repaints, but I'd sell a liver at eBay to get a 2ss with SAP. By the way, Graham, since you never visit us at the Mospeada thread anymore and echoing what DarrinG just posted above, Could you ask Yamato if they've ever considered jumping the Mospeada wagon and gives us fans a decent Legioss/TREAD combo? The current offerings, sadly, aren't up to today's standards and given the experience they've gathered in transforming toys, a Legioss and TREAD would be like a walk in the park for them. I realize is probably too soon to launch yet another combo to the market, being Mospeada such a niche market and all that stuff, but maybe eventually? Thanks a million. Edit: Maybe I should poll it. -
I hope Yamato bears in mind the insane shipping costs when they tag the MSRP on this thing.

I kinda like the Yamato's proportions better, but will get this for the (hopefully) better engineering and the color scheme, of course. Too bad the knee pad still won't reach the top of the leg, as in the lineart, just like the Yamato one.

Oh, man. I just came.

That's one of the things I loved most of Mospeada, being from South America myself. Most heroes back then (and even today) in mainstream science fiction where from the US or Japan. -
The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to Renato's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Hey, Shaorin. Good luck with your Shogo figure custom. Can't wait to see how that tuns out. I think the main problem with a custom figure that fits inside the Garland in Slave mode is the lack on inner space, specially for the legs. I've been thinking in getting a Microman figure to customize my Shogo myself (since Yamato originally showed the prototype with a Microman figure), but I'm affraid it'd still have to have those skinny curved legs to fit inside the toy. As for the custom decals, I have a set. Found it online and couldn't resist. They're a bit flashy for my tastes tho'. They're all have a "Pimp my Ride" feel to them. I like what Shaorin did with his Proto better. As for the mounted gun, you should check what MW member Drifand did with his, using parts from a Bandai universal stand. Here's a few pics:- 1056 replies

The TV Macross may not look as "badass" as the DYRL one, but for me, is like a dear place where I was very happy. I'd get a TV version for sure.

It's very hard to find cabinets for display here in Mexico, dunno why, and for some reason we don't even have a single Ikea distributor yet. Fortunately a friend of mine who works for Swatch gave me one of their decomissioned display cabinets with lights and everything. It had a huge seam along the cabinet's front door, so I just bought some resilient sealing tape. It's very easy to apply and blends with the cabinet perfectly. If you put the tape around every glass, you can make the cabinet almost airtight. -
The Megazone 23 Garland By Yamato Thread

There's a metallic finish version that comes with the movie, soundtrack CD and art book, but since no one here got that version, it's hard to say if the shoulder on that one is fixed or not. I eMailed Yamato USA for my replacements and they sent me both shoulders (i.e. the whole front wheel) in no time, of course that was a long time ago. I got tired of ranting about the limited poseability of the Shogo figure, and I even suggested a fully poseable version (a la Chirico Cuvie, which is an amazing action figure, even better than the Scope Dog itself IMHO) to be sold separately, but I guess Yamato got over with the license. That's too bad, I would've loved to see the mass production flying Garland in olive drab colors, despite not being such a fan of the whole magnet thing. I hope someone else picks up the license some day and gives us a bigger line. BTW, the rear view mirrors on my red Garland (those small silver pieces that hold the hinges for the whole chest assembly) popped off recently (cheap a$$ glue). I don't think superglue is strong enough to do the trick this time since that hinge needs to withstand a lot of pressure during the transformation. I understand some people here had the same problem, so I thought I'd ask around here what glue should I use to fix it. Thanks in advance, guys.- 1056 replies

SCRATCH-BUILD 4 Feet Macross DYRL SDF-1
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to MaveRick's topic in The Workshop!
I had a blitz of nostalgia watching your SDF-1. It was like seeing again a place where I was very happy. Now I want a Yamato TV version more than the DYRL? version. -
A full Klan action figure to fit inside and some moving fingers would be sweet tho'. Anyway, I'm getting this one for sure, DX or not.

We should ask Graham. Seems like one of those FAQ he uses to take to Yamato every now and then, and it'd surprise me that there wasn't already a statement about it on their part, wether is a "we're definitely interested", a "Definitely maybe" or a "Nah! Who gives a $#!+ about Mospeada anyway?" I've asked the same thing here a couple of times, but nobody seems to know. Apparently, there's a retailer in Tokyo who has it (Save has the details), but so far nothing about online availability. -

I'm so naïve.

The first Garland is a major flop. I replaced the shoulders, but pieces keep falling off. The Proto Garland is an important improvement over the first release so I hold no grudges on Yamato, but I'm still waiting for another company to make a sturdier non magnets version and with a decently poseable figure. Hey, we could call this "The Yamato Rant Tread"!

BTW, has Yamato ever stated its interest, or lack of, in the Mospeada license? I'm kinda disappointed of CM's efforts and Toynami, despite the great sculp, it's not up to today's standards. Besides Yamato has a great record in designing and manufacturing complex transforming planes, a Legioss/TREAD combo would be like a walk in the park for them. A Bandai SPEC combo would be sweet too. -
Bandai VF100's Official Thread Ver.2

I'm in for a Kai too. Prefer the Blazer a lot better, but I'm not missing this in case they decide not to produce it. Battroid mode looks good even without the legs filling parts. I'm also psyched about this line: Nearly PT, obscure Valks on the cheap and a new Köenig Monster and enemy mecha to along with them. Way to go Bandai. -

A question for those who attended the SDCC: Did Toynami said anything about the release date of the "improved" Maia Sterling Alpha? I'm curious to see how that one comes out. -

Can somebody post a list of places where I can find the CMs Combo with bonus parts? I tried Yahoo auctions, but couldn't find anything. Not to keen on the asking price, but I don't own any of the CMs Legioss/TREAD releases, so I'm considering on getting one of these. -
