Lonely Soldier Boy replied to joppewo's topic in Toys
Here's the discussion over it at the Other Anime section. Just an announcement, really. No proto pics yet. http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=38711&page=63 Just to keep the post on topic: I'm also glad I didn't get the VF2 -
Evolution Toy - VF-2SS Valkyrie I 《MACROSS II ~LOVERS AGAIN~

Looks bad for their recently announced Legioss. -
Yep. Also from MyKombini, I'm curious to see if they arrive at the same time.

i just go this from MyKombini: Warning: the release date of your product HI-METAL R VF-1S Strike Valkyrie Roy Focker Special with stage Bandai Collector has changed. The new release date is : 24-04-2016. That's tomorrow. Good thing the message says "with stage"

The Arcadia 1/60 line is discouraging me very fast. I've never wanted the complete collection mind you, but even those VF-1 I really want in that scale are hard to get and reissues are too far apart if not unlikely, so I'm getting the full HMR line instead. For instance, I've never owned the M&M's, so this is my chance to have them in scale with a bunch of other Macross stuff.

Medicom/Hot Toys and all 1/6 scale figures
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to EXO's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm on the fence on getting a couple of figures because of HT's recent strategy of adding the suffix "DX" or "Die Cast" to products they've released before (since they don't seem to believe in reissuing). Case in point: I own their old Robocop 3 figure (the one with the booster pack). For years that was the definitive Robo figure for me. Now they release the "Die Cast" which is obviously superior in many areas, and naturally I started doing my research to decide whether to get one or not. And then it hit me: HT can produce a new version any time with a new booster pack and even removable helmet (plus the big gun, interchangeable "Battle Damaged" chest plate and whatnot) and just rebrand it "DX" and you're stuck with another subpar Robo figure again. That happened to me with their T2 T-800. Another case is the new Boba Fett 1/6 figure (a figure you want to cash several times on if at all possible). The figure is great as it is, but for some odd reason it lacks the little light up chest thingie. A new version marked as "DX" could very well include that little feature plus an array of cool weapons, interchangeable cuffs to make it a ESB version and even a 1/6 Han Solo frozen in carbonite with lights! Don't get me wrong: I've got nothing against a company improving on what they've already released, but this seems more like an strategy to milk popular characters without resorting to reissues, and it's getting to the point where I don't know if I should buy the toys in the first place. Thoughts? -
I've been needing a V.2 Roy for a while. I wish it was the TV version tho' but I'm in considering how ridiculously expensive Roys are in the secondary market and how scarce the Super/Strike parts are nowadays.

Oh no, I agree. I mean that since then we haven't had a toy worth mentioning. As for expanding the line if this sells well, I dunno. Smaller toy companies usually cash on the popular mecha and then just run for it. it's weird to me to say this because I always root for the underdog, but if Bandai can take the risk and make a quality line of affordable support and enemy mecha with the Macross HM-R line, is probably because they're making good money with several other lines. What I'm saying is, we'll probably see ET TREADs (depending on the scale of this), but don't expect any Inbits. Edit: BTW, There's a Lansay set up at eBay right now, if you're a hardcore collector with a lot of cash: http://www.ebay.com/itm/80s-Gakken-Lansay-Mospeada-Blue-Legioss-Tread-Robotech-Beta-Alpha-Macross-/400489340321?hash=item5d3f065da1:g:SEUAAMXQ8ABRlBuU

Since the old Gakken, poor old Legioss has had a horrible history of subpar toys. Right off the bat, Evolution taking on it sounds like another miss, but I'm curious.

Great review. I haven't been able to handle my GBP yet, but I'm glad I got it. That fighter looks incredibly sleek for a transformable 1/100, BTW.

This is the first time Reebok will release the high top "Ripley" version as well as the low ones worn by Bishop. The question for me now is which ones to get. I want them mostly for display, so Ripley's seem to be the best choice because they're more iconic, but I like Bishop's better and I love the character, decisions decisions. Fewture EX Gokin Garland!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
At 1/24 Arcadia's Shogo should be the size of the old MASK figures (since those prototypes were made of 1/24 model kits it's safe to assume their scale is correct). I loved those, really fun to play with. If it's Perfect Transformation I'll try to get Arcadia's as well. MZ-23 is always at the top of my wish list anyway. -
This thread needs more news pronto.

Fewture EX Gokin Garland!
Lonely Soldier Boy replied to treatment's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I'm sure Arcadia will do a great job. Yamato´s track record used to be hit and miss at the time, but even they improved vastly in the final days. I think Yamato's Garland was a case of bad timing. My only concern with Arcadia's at this point is the size. -

I'll just pretend it's the normal wearing of the bike after seeing some action, then. Edit: The good news is the Fewtures look pretty solid and well engineered. -

So Fewture makes the bodies die cast? I hope it's not the case, I'm tired of toys you have to handle like porcelain. -
Blocked for my Country, for some reason

Fewture EX Gokin Garland!

About 20 cms or 8 inches. Not a bad size for a PT Garland toy, mind you, so five centimeters make a huge difference here. Also Yamato's was plagued with design issues. . -

Preordered it. I know. It is very expensive, but hey, it's Fewture. Their stuff is usually very rare and gets more expensive by the hour after release. Besides their take on classic mecha is always fantastic. I love what they did with the classic Garland and it's probably going to be my only Fewture toy anyway so might as well be the Garland, a mecha design I like so much and that has gotten so little attention over the years. Also 25 cms is way taller than the old Yamato IIRC, if the toy happens to be solid as well, it'll be worth the price. My only gripe so far is that the bike looks massive next to the figure and that Shogo's face is not great. At least he can stand on his own this time. -
Hahaha. Sorry. Forgot I'm not a mod anymore, which made the joke pointless, so I deleted it. But it was fun for a moment

I'm glad I skipped on Toynami's and the Revos. I was tempted by both, but neither seemed quite there for me when they were released.

If Bandai decides to release the missile pods as option parts, I'd have to buy two more Regults anyway as I guess would be the case with most collectors, which might be good for Bandai, since Regults are still all over the place.
