For such an (probably)expensive item - you'd want it to open and close - or at least internal detail.

If they ever made that arm attachment - it'd have to deviate from the anime accuracy (for it fit on the existing - or future - fore-arm section) - as the missiles and beam weaponry it produces simply wouldn't fit inside the FAST pack-coloured compartments - in the anime it looks like those weapon components are actually inside the '19's fore-arm. So if Yamato made the attachment, it'd mean a spare fore-arm at least. Exhibit A;

I'm actually pretty interested in what the 19P head will look like, seeing as it has a large visor component with a lot of detail/optical greeble going on. Also it'll be my chance to get me a cannon-fodder-YF-19ish shaped yammie (not sure if the P is CF, never saw M7 - but i do collect CF yammies) without paying the crazy prices for current YF-19 (or the BoP/Double nuts for that matter).

Not yet! Current status of project; Q.Rau is as disassembled as can be, masked off and ready for repainting - also making the custom components in Maya as I get the time to do it; Ironically other 3D stuff (paid work) as taken priority... Will update when I have something more than a exploded-taped-up Q.Rau to show!

Thanks for the links, but they're not quite the direction I'm going - the more old school green schemes are a tad too literal-a-colour match for my personal tastes - due to the panel lines and slightly different details on the movie version Rau, I'll be seeing what works best - going to re-use some decals from a few spare 1/144 rau and 1/100 glaug decals to detail it up - nothing to 'in your face', I really dislike the decals on the shoulder flaps and a few others. You know what they say; less is more. Anyways, to answer your question grapetang - I wasn't going to change any details apart from paint job, but looking at the other pics, I will add some raised greebly bits sparesly around the suit, like the 1/144 kit - also maybe make a new head entirely, custom build one in a 3D program and print it out at shapeways.com, while I'm at it, make some new articulated fingers - my 1/60 had floppy fingers. I like the antennae tho, so I'll keep that! Although I thing the crotch plate has to be changed... somehow.

Hey hey, I'm planning on repainting my Q.Rau, into a hybrid TV style cannon fodder/Miria green colour scheme. So far I've been able to disassemble all but the core-cockpit area. Has anyone else had experience with this? It seems to be all glued together - I've tried prying the back open on the left side, as it's the most hidden part - but no success. Other than prying it open and stress marking/breaking the heck outta it, I guess I will have to carefully mask the cockpit area and face/shoulder flaps, as well as the boob cannons... Any tips? I can provide photos if need be.

It's just that the sub-title of this topic says "VF-19 variants with GU-15 gun pod" but in the line art it has the Kai style gunpod...

One of those wood he nice too, but I refer to a VF-25A. It's seen a handful of times in Frontier, mostly (if not always) inside the Quarter hanger bays having maintenance work done.

Thanks Talos! It does look very sweet, at a glance, looks like it has (apart from the obvious wings)the 19's red camera lens thingies either side of the nose. -

Speaking of other master file books - on page 108 of the 2nd VF-1 book, there is an image cover for a master file book on the VF-4, VF-3000 & the VF-5000 - with a small paragraph, anyone care to shed some light on this? Also, a VF-11 master file would be dreamy Also on page 22 of the VF-19 master file, there is a pic of the XVF-19-1; which looks like a VF-11/YF-19 hybrid, very very cool. Any more info on this bird? -
Are you kidding? The redesign looks bad ass! Just enough updating to not poo poo all over the original. Although the 1D redesign looks meh - prefer the original.

Nah, won't need one of those - how terribly limited, inaccurate and chunky... The process in which my models will be made is akin to the way Liloo is created in the 5th Element, layer over layer. Like I said before, accurate to 0.01mm.

Hey dudes! So... I decided to do something about my hard-on for the VF-1D, and since I can't sculpt in the real world, I decided to make up a digital sculpt and then it snowballed. Got some big plans here, and for the other GN-U's... Thought I'd give u guys a sample. These will printed from 3D data and is accurate to 0.01mm, more pics posted as I get around to making them. Next up, the VF-1D's custom chest piece. Would people be interested in purchasing this for your own GN-U's? Before u ask, I plan on doing the super and strike packs for VF-1, just to start with. Interested to see what u all think.
